I'm shocked, however, that the fight is entirely Harold vs. Courtney, when in the show, it's Harold vs. Duncan, and the only scene with the two is her asking him to vote with her.

Okay, here's the thing: yes, Courtney is doing better in challenges. But, does that make Harold a weak, pathetic player that could never win anything? No, of course not. I believe that this is the entire reason why Harold fans are even fighting to make him look superior. The argument is ultimately shaming their favorite character and making him look useless. From his performance in many of TDA's challenges, he is definitely not useless. Seeing as he is their favorite character, they want to throw off this opinion of him. Courtney is a great competitor. But, Harold is pretty close to her in terms of skill in challenges, especially in the latest superhero episode. Let's put it this way: Harold had more points than her (6-7) in the first part of the challenge, and in the second part of the challenge, she won over him by six seconds. That's pretty close. The next few episodes, if the right types of challenges are involved, could easily make Harold appear superior to Courtney. We'll just have to wait and see. After all, Harold DID go to Medieval Steve's Medieval camp, and episode 19 I've heard is called "Princess Pride." |
Right, that is exactly why I defend Harold. People say his is useless and a bad player, when in reality, he is actually one of the best players in the game.
Courtney isn't the worst player either.
However, I think Harold does have an edge. He isn't the best player, but he can be very good. Along with that he is much nicer, and better to get along with in the game. Courtney, on the otherhand, may be very good at challenges as well, but she will turn on you in a second, and stab you in the back once she gets the chance.
Overall, both are good in challenges, and neither have been useless, but since Harold is friends, or at least gets along with most of the other players is a very good thing.
It isn't only about challenges, after all.

I'm not being desperate. I'm just trying to show that Courtney is not superior to everyone else. Besides, you are the one who says he has proof of what happens, but does not provide it. How is trying to cheat not a bad thing? She is willing to cheat her way past the rules of the game, yet that does not lose anything? The fact that she is even trying should be enough. She has those rules, right? That's not fair for the rest. She even got into the game in which she shouldn't have. I am not looking at what Harold may have, or would have done right now. Chris said Harold made a really good time. Courtney beat him by what, a few seconds? Had he not stopped and talked to himself, he probably would have shaved off a few more seconds. Therefore, it is very likely that if he didn't stop, he would have made better time than Courtney. Or, at least, it would have been very close. Someone should just ask the creators who is meant to be better. |

Actually it is EXTACTLY the opisate. Most people have that COURTNEY was useless and HAROLD was the most skilled so I tried to defend that. I want you to quote one time when someone has called Harold useless. |

See? Exactly why this argument keeps going. When you argue for Courtney, you take every opportunity to make her look superior and to make Harold look inferior. This is shaming Harold and makes him look useless compared to Courtney. This makes Harold fans want to argue with you. When you argue for Harold, you take every opportunity to make him look superior and make Courtney look inferior. This is shaming Courtney and makes her look useless compared to Harold. This makes Courtney fans want to argue with you. Both sides are just trying to prove that their character is a good competitor, and therefore, the 'better' character that should be loved and adored by all fans. This all stems from the conflict that vote-switch conflict. Team Courtney loves Courtney and hates Harold because he got her eliminated. Team Harold loves Harold and hates Courtney for trying to kill him and making a mountain out of a molehill. To prove that their side is 'right', someone tried to argue that their character was better than the other in challenges. And here we are. |

This is pretty stupid. They were Courtney's wire-cutters to begin with. Why wouldn't she use them once Lindsay was finished with them. |
That's not the point I'm trying to make. I know they were Courtney's wirecutters, but what's wrong with coming up with an innovative way to cut the wires like everyone else has been doing. If you don't have the materials on you, it's only logical to improvise.
(Sorry for the double-post)
I do recognize Courtney and her victroies, but it's kind of hard to get past the whole "Courtney has a good lawyer" or the "Courtney's rules thing". Personally, her nasty attitude and attempt to cheat through the competetition doesn't make me think of her as superior, it actually makes me think less of her. A lot less of her and I mean below inferior. Okay, I'll admit that she's doing a lot better than season, but sometimes I feel to give more credit to those who actually work hard and have to endure the endless issues in their lives on a daily basis, like Harold being endlessly tortured by Duncan. Duncan continues to make Harold's life miserable and Harold still manages to keep his head in the game. He saved lives! Lives of his team mates and the opposing for crying out loud! This was not only an act of kindness, but the invincibility was practically in the bag for Harold in that challenge. Does Chris recognize this? No. He just addressed the victory as a team effort when it was all Harold. What has Courtney ever done that deserves praising? "My lawyers will do something about this..."

I'M SETTLING THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL:
Owen was the best player. He won.
There, everyone happy now? Can we go back to obsessing over TDM?

Imverybasic has great points.
And it depends on the challege, because I've seen times where Harold is more usefull. Same goes for most of the others, they've been more usefull at times as well.
To Brodin15: Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it. And you make a good point, too. Every competitor has their moment of being useful and doing the most contributing to their team. But we've established who does more and since we're comparing Courtney and Harold, it's debatable. I'm sticking up for Harold, not because he's my favorite but simply because of the points in my defense and, that he doesn't deserve to be bullied so much. Personally, I think he's one of the top competitors. I say even under pressure, he works better than Courtney, but I won't get too much into that.

This comment was totally un-necessary. -__-
When have I been a hypocrite? Just because I like Harold more doesn't mean I don't think Courtney has done well at times. Most have. Even Owen.
Here's the thing. The game isn't only challenges. Like in real reality shows, you need to be good with your team mates and fellow competitors. Courtney is a good player, I'm not saying she isn't. She is competitive, strong, and smart. She is a good player. However, aside from challenges, she is bossy, selfish, rude, and will stab anyone in the back is she sees and opening that is good for her, even Duncan. She is also willing to bypass the system and use lawyers to her advantage. It may not be working well, but the fact that she is trying to shows.
Harold, on the other hand, is also good at challenges. He's won challenges on his own, and come close on a few as well. He is also a very good player. But, unlike Courtney, Harold is a team player. He won't sell you out without motive. Yes, he wants Duncan out, and he cheated out Courtney in TDI, but only because Duncan wouldn't stop tormenting him. Had Duncan not done that, all probably would have been good. Harold also is much nicer than Courtney, so he is easier to get along with, and be friends with. As long as you are on good terms with him, he most likely would not betray you, like Courtney would.
Overall, Courtney may be a little better than Harold in challenges, but because Harold is also a great player, coupled with the fact that he is also nicer, and a team player, he can be said to be better.
Look at it this way.
1-5 on challenges
1-5 on niceness and being a team player
1) Courtney 5+1=6
2) Harold 4+5=9
Courtney may be better in challenges, but Harold scores more points overall.
