    I am of a decidedly rare school of thought, one that would benefit you all to hear: Azula is not truly evil. She is mental unstable from one of life's most soul-crushing pains: Perceived lack of maternal love. When she was a little girl (as we saw in "Zuko Alone"), Fire-Lady Ursa was hardly ever anything but stern and disciplining toward Azula, while Zuko was given the full force of her love all the time. Because of this, she chose her father's way, and thus became like him. But that is not who she is on the inside. Deep, deep down in her heart, Azula is just a sad little girl who's crying and lashing out at the world because she doesn't believe that her Mommy loved her. In short, Ladies and Gentlemen, all Azula needs is a HUG.

    I don't believe that Ursa was stern becuas etats how mothers are like Zuko was the tortured one and Azula had everything he had a more. And I don't thing Azula can feel she's a demon and demons aren't cable of love.

    Maybe I saw it while browsing and was subconsciously influenced, because I swear that I came up with what I said totally by myself.

    Kinda true, I think she was sorta born that way though, or maybe it was how her father treated her.

    I'm pretty sure her mom was only stern because Azula was a *female dog* even from the start. A female puppy, if you will.

    But Azula was a little demon even as a child. I think her problem is she needs to be the best, like when she pushed Ty Lee down after her flip. Her anger and frustration comes from her inability to be perfect and resentment towards everyone better than her. And if you tried to give Azula a hug she would melt you. Thats how Zuko got his scar, not from his father.

    Azula is used to being pampered..."She's a Firebending prodigy and everyone adores her." She obviously is a perfectionist too...no one is her equal in her mind...and if someone shows that they're better than she is at anything she'll find someway to prove herself superior(i.e:??knocking down Ty Lee for being more agile)...she drives herself to be the best("Almost isn't good enough!"),??and she takes great pride in putting down those she sees as lesser than her(i.e:??taunting Zuko saying "He'll never catch up") this also??could stem from the fact that she's second to the Prince of the Fire Nation...she LOVED seeing him get burned by his father, hell she probably wishes she coulda done it herself...I don't feel any sympathy for Azula...I will say she's a beast when it's time to show her hands(fight)...but other than that I'm looking forward to seeing how she goes down(If I was writing the story, her downfall would be of her own doing(indirectly) that would be PERFECT poetic justice for the perfectionist that is Azula)

    Man if killing a royal member wan't illegal I'd hang Azula. As for the demon comment I agree azula is a demon and is uncable of true love.

    I dont agree at all. Ursa didn't seem the type to favor one kid over the other for no reason. Azula had all of her father's attention while Ozai paid less attention to Zuko. Therefore, Ursa tried to make up for it by paying more attention to Zuko.
    Azuka = daddy's girl
    Zuko = mommy's boy

    Why are you people so incapable of seeing anything beyond what your eyes show?

    Cause Azula isn't a sad little girl she wants everything others have and more, She's a sadist and was born that way?? hug won't ever cure her mental insanity.

    I suppose the story's naturally biased. There needs do be some kind of antagonist in this kind of plot, and since Zuko isn't really the "evil guy" anymore, Azula gets the part and so, the "mistreated" side to her isn't really a possibility.

    I'm sure I'm going a little overboard here, but...

    And Hitler was only a misunderstood little boy, crying out for atention.

    (Yeah, that is an exageration, but I felt the need to say it.
