Whatever happens to Azula, I want her to have plenty of time to completely lose her ever-cool control and beg for her life before she's gone.

    Amen, brother. Amen.

But what's ironic is Azula has no problems taking the lives of others she never see's into their motives or think all around to see if it's worth it but when her life is on the other hand she expects to be spaed cause her life is the oly importance to her.

That is a sort of hypocracy that all supervillains, criminals, and generally evil people enjoy.

True but I always have a feeling Azula think she's a saint.

Most people like her usually do.

That's right and as I like to say "The wicked has been officaly smited" Azula may be in for a suprise when she see's that she's been doing the wrong thing all along she'll go mad if so.

I doubt she'll care. How many times can you kill and threaten people's lives before you realize you're doing something bad.

Azula is corrupted I doubt she's the kind that says "OMG I know I'm evil I am for the sake of it"

Azula seems like the person who claims she's doing it for a good cause she doesn't know her actions, Well to me she doesn't.

    *opens the BibliodeBuffy*

A reading from the Book of Faith. "Yea, did Faith stake the commonman and recoil in surprise. Though Buffy didst lecture on of darkness and righteousness, Faith understood naught but one thing: one darkness seeps in, ye may only goest forth. Faith sought deeper darkness and joined evil. Good smacked her down and Faith healed, then retreated. Knowing the good and evil within her, she now sought only one thing: a fight to death. Lo! and Faith did taunt the darkest of the dark, begging the dark avenger to kill her. But he took pity on the wretch and refused, letting her live alone with her burdens."

By the pen of Joss, Excelsior.

If there is any good within Azula, she knows it and has a death wish already.

Of course Azula has good in her. No one is pure good or pure evil. There is no black, there is no white, there is only infinite shades of grey, one for every living personal. Some people have more or less good in them than others do, but no one is one or the other. Azula has good in her, but it's overshadowed by her inner evil. Zuko was once similar. His good was not overshadowed to the point where Azula is, but his good was warped and twisted for a long time. Now, he's finally beginning to untangle it, and his good is truly his stronger self.

So that means I'm for the theory that Azula is responsible for her own death.

That's exactly my point. Those who allow their evil to dominate them will always come to an end that they themselves made. The evil die (metaphysically) many times before their end. The good taste of death but once.

I am of a decidedly rare school of thought, one that would benefit you all to hear: Azula is not truly evil. She is mental unstable from one of life's most soul-crushing pains: Perceived lack of maternal love. When she was a little girl (as we saw in "Zuko Alone"), Fire-Lady Ursa was hardly ever anything but stern and disciplining toward Azula, while Zuko was given the full force of her love all the time. Because of this, she chose her father's way, and thus became like him. But that is not who she is on the inside. Deep, deep down in her heart, Azula is just a sad little girl who's crying and lashing out at the world because she doesn't believe that her Mommy loved her. In short, Ladies and Gentlemen, all Azula needs is a HUG.

The only problem I find with this theory is that it almost seems like you throw out almost all of the other elements that go with Azula.?? 1. First of all, you're completely forgetting about her father.?? Certainly she takes after her father, but that's more than likely because as it??was hinted: her father practically spoils her, he favors her more, and obviously let her get away with far more than her mother would.?? It wasn't a case of "Ursa didn't love Azula".?? I'm sure she loved her child but you'd have to be blind to not see how rotten Azula can/could be.?? I think it was more a case of she didn't spoil Azula like her father did, so in turn, Azula favored her father more and took after him.?? It's almost like a case of good cop, bad cop, only Lady Ursa in Azula eyes, probably looked more like the bad cop.?? I honestly believe you misinterpeted the part: I believe it was to show just how unfavorable things had been for Zuko, even when he was a child.?? (It was honestly a good thing that he had his mother because it was pretty obvious that was the only loving reinforcement he had besides maybe his Uncle.)

    2. I won't lie: I honestly believe that Azula is the way she is because of the way she was raised, but I think it's more like her father had a firmer hold over his daughter than her mother and molded the way she turned out more than her??mother not loving her.??(I almost got the impression that Lady Ursa couldn't *do* anything with her.)

    3. Azula may not be *evil* persay but she's pretty darn close.?? I could sit here and give countless examples of her cruelity, one of my favorites being that she was willing to almost kill Ty Lee just to force her into going along with her, but it would take to long.?? It's not an issue of "a poor child who didn't have enough love, never had a chance". It's the issue of a spoiled rotten brat that is far too high on her horse and needs to get knocked off a view times and brought back down to earth.

    ((Yay, I went up a level!! ))

I think Azula was brainwashed or whatever to think/act like she does. I mean, like half the people here have been saying, look at her dad. And grandfather. She was the 'special' one. Like Zuko said "...She was born lucky, I was lucky to be born..." ((Yeah, that wasn't the EXACT wording...But you get the idea!)) Like that one person up there said, she was spoiled. In the flashbacks of Zuko Alone, her dad bragged about her infront of everybody.

Whats the old argument? "Nature vs. Nurture"??

I just figure you know she goes traveling around with two other teenage girls, they camp out alone and isolated in the middle of the woods every night, their bound to be some naughty stuff happening off screen. Just imagine *drool*

I can imagine it, dude. I can imagine it. And when you think about, the fact that Azula is so in-tune with her masculine side is about the equivalent of a gay guy being in touch with his feminine side. She actually could be a lesbian.

I've personally always thought of Azula as a sociopath. Real-life Sociopaths like to torture animals as kids and it was indirectly implied that Azula did that in Zuko Alone.

I think that's psychopath. I'm pretty sure a sociopath is the one who doesn't understand the difference between right and wrong, and the psychopath is the one who actually derives pleasure from torturing other people/animals.

Like, a sociopath will kill you because he needs your car/jacket. A psychopath will kill you because he thinks it's funny.
