Just two more nagging things that I need to get out of the way (or I'm going to end up lying awake thinking about them.)

    1. I stand in total awe of all of you who can still like Azula after seeing this episode. She was a total ***** from birth!

    2. What'll happen to Zuko now that he's blown his cover like that? Will word spread, or will he still be able to remain inconspicuous among the earth kingdom? (I still can't believe that, even though he helped that family so much, they still treated him like total trash after he revealed his true identity. Sure, maybe they were somewhat justified in being wary, but still; I hope they ended up feeling guilty after that.)

Well I look back on it now... I remeber Mellomuse was speculating about symbols written on the knife, and now we know. And Azula haha... "and Iroh sent this doll, its the latest earth kingdom fashion" *Azula then later starts the doll on fire* omg... that to me is just classically funny. I'm suprised she even had any friends at all. Its almost as funny as the fact that Mai was wearing something that was forced on her. Like the bows in her hair and stuff, and I have no clue why I find it so amusing I just do. But WTF was with the animals.... yeah yeah I know its the Avatar world, but everything had pig like features to it, even the rooster! The episode was AWESOME but those animals, I really can't get over it.

The episode reminded me of the Good, the Bad, and Ugly... it really would make an awesome music video

Ozai was demonstrating to Fire Lord Azulon (closed-caption spelling) that he still has a strong bloodline (as opposed to Iroh), and that Azula was the better example of it (at the time).

Hey speaking of foreshadowing ....?? now that Zuko has blown his cover (I had to laugh because the kid's name was Lee so Zuko couldn't use that otherwise I think the kid would have had a cow about it) and his wanted posters are up... do you think that more people will be look for him and thus he was put himself in greater danger of being captured by either nation. I'm surprised they didn't jump him the moment he confessed. but then again he did just save a little boy *shrugs*

I'm sorry I keep posting, this will be the last one.?? I just can't shut up.

Wasn't it interesting that nobody in the Earth Nation village tried to attack Zuko or arrest him after he announced himself, nobody dared touch him.?? I hope later on they will remember that the Fire Lord's heir came to their village, saved it and then left.?? (Hey, he pulled an Aang!) He didn't bully them or demand money or anything.?? He also didn't hang his head or get upset when they acted liked they hated him, he just let it roll right off his back.??

Also, anyone notice that the boy's name was Lee (or Li)??? That was no accident.?? That was the name Zuko used as his alias in COTL.??

I just figured out why Zuko's mom left.

Remember the turtle duck scene when she told Zuko that's what a mother does when someone threatens her children she bits back?

Then Azula tells Zuko a Azulan wanted to kill Zuko because Iroh lost his son. Keeping in mind that she wasn't lying the next time she told Zuko something in his bed??(That??Azulan died and he did). Now the writers want us to think Ozai killed him but I don't think so. I think Zuko's mom found out that Azulan wanted to??kill??Zuko and going??back to the symbolic??duck scene she bit back and killed Azulan before he??could kill Zuko??and that's why she left and that's??why before??she left??she??told Zuko that??she did it??to "Protect"??him and that's why Ozai was heart broken by the pool was because his wife had to leave for killing the Fire Lord.

That's right people and you can??quote me on that.

Zuko called himself heir to the throne, and they called him a liar. Zuko did lie (more like 'was unwittingly mistaken') about that.

He's the Fire Lord's son. That woman's elder son and husband are away from home and may never return because of the Fire Lord's war. Their nation has suffered a century of war because of his direct ancestors.

I "liked" the story of captured Earth soldiers being used as cannon fodder...that's something that would actually happen.

Racism is like that. Remeber in the begining with Haru. Even though he helped the old guy the old guy still ratted him out.

Wow.?? What an amazing episode.?? I was greatly moved by this episode.?? My favorite one of the season so far.?? Azula is truly detestable; I hope she gets her just desserts.?? I can see that Azula gets her personality from her father Ozai.?? I'm big fans of Iroh, Zuko, and Zuko's mom.?? Fight On Zuko.?? What do you guys think happened to Zuko's mother?

I loved this episode, but one thing made me sad. The boy, Lee, really respected Zuko. He looked up to him. Then, he found out he was from the Fire Nation and he was like, "I hate you!" And Zuko still tried to be nice. It saddens me. But extremely good episode!

??I was right, my favorite episode from Book 2 did change by the next week XD.

I loved Zuko's mother. She has the qualities anyone would want in a mom (unless you're Azula and you become a daddy's girl). I wish there could be some clarfication as to what exactly happened to her and how Azulon died. But then again, it's also fun to speculate ^_^.

I first thought she went in her son's place (she somehow convinced Azulon that losing a wife would be more painful) and Azula killed Azulon because she wanted her daddy to rise to power quickly so that she'll secure his throne (and possibly her own chance to inherit it after Ozai dies). But after seeing what others think, Zuko's mom killing him is also plausible, perhaps even more. After Ozai agreed to kill Zuko, Azulon changed the will, allowing Ozai to take Iroh's place. Zuko's mom then killed Azulon, knowing that??the??conditions of the will didn't specifically say that in order for Ozai to inherit the throne, he had to kill Zuko. So Ozai didn't go through with it and ended up becoming Fire Lord. And maybe Azula knew what her mom was planning all along. But there's also a question as to why Azula was so adamant about??her dad becoming??Fire Lord and why she kept saying her grandfather was going to die soon (not to mention the knife scene...O_O). It does make her look suspicious.??

Wow! This episode was AMAZING. Very moving and all, but anyways...

I know lots of people are saying that Zuko's mom killed the old Fire Lord, but...that just seems way OOC for her. Zuko's mom was loving and caring and blah blah blah. Even to protect Zuko I don't think she'd do that. Well, the way I see it there are 3 possibilities:

    a) Zuko's mom killed Azulan and then fled the Fire Nation. (it could of happened to protect Zuko I guess)

    b) Zuko's mom took the place as Zuko for the sacrifice (does explain Ozai's mood in that garden later)

    c) Ozai kills his dad and the mom is so upset that she leaves (rather unlikely if u ask me, the mom wouldn't leave Zuko alone like that)

    And, of course, there's always:

    d) Azula is a little devil-child and killed Azulan herself. (this is the craziest theory, seriously...)
