People don't give reasons for SpongeBob because when you watch it, the reasons are staring in front of you. But if you need reasons then here you go: 1. SpongeBob is the much funnier of the two shows. 2. SpongeBob has lovable characters that you grow attached to as the show goes on. I mean, not many TV characters beat the SpongeBob people. In fact, SpongeBob is one of my three favorite TV/video game characters of all time. 3. People constantly say that Avatar has a story and SpongeBob doesn't. SpongeBob isn't MEANT to. It's not meant to be some big storyline like Avatar, it is meant to be a silly cartoon to laugh at, something that Nick has actually been good with since the old days. 4. Nickelodeon is a proper home for SpongeBob. Avatat doesn't fit in with the other Nick shows. If I want to see that, I will go to Cartoon Networks Tonami block. While some people like how Nick is trying something new with Avatar, think about it. Nick hasn't been good with it's new ideas. Does that explain everything? |
1. That's because it's a COMEDY show. Avatar is ACTION/ADVENTURE. It does sneek in humor though, and quite frankily it's hilarious when they have a funny moment.
2. So? Avatar is my one of my favorite 3 TV shows/and has my favorite characters. People grow attached to the characters just like you do to SpongeBob. What's stopping them? I happen to be a crazed Aang fangirl, 'cause I love his voice actor.
3. Your right. SpongeBob is something you can watch and not know a thing about. But the storyline is what makes Avatar interesting.
4. Avatar is the greatess thing to happen to Nick recently. When SpongeBob came out, so was it. Avatar is different from any shows on Nick. When Invader Zim came out, so was it. Same with SpongeBob, etc.

The thing is, yes Spongebob has the pointless random humor, Yes I've seen pretty much every episode up to around this past season (I'm 16), since then the "inside" jokes were getting really disturbing..................loveable characters? mmm, I guess, I remember I started watching it when I was 9, then in middle school that was the "cool" show to watch, and since I had a very low self-esteem, I had to try to fit in somehow, so I just kept watching the show. I guess I got attached to them, we say their quotes all around school and try to laugh like Spongebob. Granted, back then I was immature enough to enjoy it. Basically now I watch it when I'm bored or for just pure nolstagia. Although maybe it's bcause I just watch reruns, but it's just not all that funny anymore, if anything it's more disturbing. Do I still like it? Ehhh, not as much, but the earlier seasons sure.
Ok part two, still awake? Good. Avatar, I started watching this when I was 15, well I could drill down your throat the same reasons everyone else has ever so excitedly exclaimed (Plotline, suspense, war, action, romance, animation, ya I think you're smart enough to get it.) but I'm not. I will say this, I think I remember watching new episodes of Spongebob and when I laughed at the "jokes", it felt unnatural when I laughed and forced. (and this is a girl that laughs hard at the worst puns and jokes.) Now granted does Avatar have more jokes? Not really, but when I laugh at them, they're actually funny and I laugh more naturally.
I noticed a lot of people haven't even watched the show, yet they say it's mediocre? I watched more than an episode of Spongebob, heck more than a season even, but you don't see me just posting one sentence screaming "Spongebob sux yooo! Ive nevern watched it but ill judge it anyway cause im that ignorant!" or "Spongebob sux Avatar is beetter even though I'm giving no real reason why!"
So in conclusion, I like them both, I just like Avatar more.
God I need some tea, good thing it's Spring Break here.

You haven't seen Avatar and are judging it?!? I have seen SpongeBob and don't think it is a great show. But hey what ever sinks... hem! I mean makes your boat float go ahead. Don't diss Avatar!
