True. But it's still a classic. I saw few more episodes of Avatar and have gotten used to it. As for who's better, well, they're both different. Spongebob's better in comedy, while Avatar's better in suspense.

At least you seen it and can therefore compare it accurately to SpongeBob.

I used to think SpongeBob was the best show, but ever since the fourth season(and renting the vol. 2 DVD of Avatar), I found that show just as funny as SpongeBob. Not only that, but it has appealing characters, a better storyline that continues after each episode, and is more interesting with much more action and adventure. So my vote goes to Avatar!

SpongBob can barely be referred to as a speck on the greatness that is Avatar, let alone try and compare them.

You guys are comparing to entirely different things. SpongeBob is a comedy. Avatar has an actualy sticktoit sotry line, and is action adventure. It's not a fair arguement.

...but I would say Avatar, cause it strikes to my age group. x]

Well, Spongebob has JTS and Avatar hasn't. Spongebob used to be great and now it's just... eh. Avatar continues to improve.
If I want to turn my brain off, I'll watch Spongebob. I mean, I won't die if I watch it. I can tolerate it when I baby sit. But Avatar has a story and it has depth and is just generally something I can use to stimulate my brain. And my brain enjoys being stimulated. Spongebob does not do that for me.
For the record: I am 19. SB started when I was 11 or so. ATLA started when I was 17.

The main thing that bugs me about Spongebob is how many kida mindlessly watch it and don't pay attention to anything else because of their beloved Sponge. That and the fact that Nick won't let Spongebob sink to the 'average' level and insist that it continues its ended era. And that Nick tries to make its other shows look good by hardly ever showing Avatar.

I still watch it and its still one of my favorite animated programs, but in the next season, I would like it if they went back a feew steps, and make the voices and animation just like how it was ni Season 2-3.

As much as I liked the old animation and voices more in the second and third season, I don't want them to go back to that, because if they try, they will fail. Did you see the episode "Bummer Vacation"? In that episode it appears that they tried to make SpongeBob look like how he did before the forth season. They failed, and he looks horrible in that one, much worse then his normal appearance in season four.

Bickering? Well maybe some are, but this topic is for picking which show you like better. And once again, we are allowed to choose which. Once again, may I state the fact that I'm not getting annoyed. I thought I stated that in my last post in this topic. I think it's silly how you guys are thinking though. xDDD

People don't give reasons for SpongeBob because when you watch it, the reasons are staring in front of you. But if you need reasons then here you go:

1. SpongeBob is the much funnier of the two shows.

2. SpongeBob has lovable characters that you grow attached to as the show goes on. I mean, not many TV characters beat the SpongeBob people. In fact, SpongeBob is one of my three favorite TV/video game characters of all time.

3. People constantly say that Avatar has a story and SpongeBob doesn't. SpongeBob isn't MEANT to. It's not meant to be some big storyline like Avatar, it is meant to be a silly cartoon to laugh at, something that Nick has actually been good with since the old days.

4. Nickelodeon is a proper home for SpongeBob. Avatat doesn't fit in with the other Nick shows. If I want to see that, I will go to Cartoon Networks Tonami block. While some people like how Nick is trying something new with Avatar, think about it. Nick hasn't been good with it's new ideas.
