Is that because you watched the same thing on Avatar?

I take it you think Naruto is better simply because it has violence for the sake of violence? As forZuko being the most developed, he really isn't, he just went through the most changes. He was intended to be the character to go through the most changes from the start. As for the other characters, they've changed quite a bit as well. Aang is no longer the happy go lucky kid we saw come out of the iceberg. Little innocent Katara has now made a death threat and meant it. Sokka is still a wise guy but he's gone from believing he's useless to knowing he's a valuable asset to the gang. Toph used to be an abrasive girl who seemed to not care too much about anything, and now she admits that she does love her parents (as well as Sokka).

Ty Lee, Mai, and them are side characters so they don't really count, except for the bit of background information we have about them.

So yes, Avatar is a pretty good show that's intelligently written and isn't all about over-the-top violence as much as it's about the characters themselves. Naruto has nice action, but is it even as meticulous as the motion-captured martial arts action in Avatar? Didn't think so. They mostly leap impossible distances at each other and punch each other in the face. I do like Naruto, but Avatar is a more planned and better written show that was meant to have a beginning, a middle, and an end.
Naruto has motion caption for casual walking the animation is as smooth as any Disney movie.

    This.

Avatar plot is pretty straight forward. Destroy the Firelord and save the world. In Naruto there are many different goals such as destroying Akatsuki, Naruto becoming Hokage, Naruto saving Sasuke, Sasuke getting his revenge and so on.
    Avatar's plot:
Kill Fire Lord Ozai before summer.
Aang mastering all 4 elements before summer.
    Zuko finding his destiny.

    Naruto's Plot:
Sasuke's goals [yeah, im counting revenge and re-making the clan as one, since the second one will probably be skipped a little]
    Naruto becoming Hokage.
    Killing Aktsuki/Maadara/Pein

Kinda close, the overall goals are killing the bad guys, while the main one and the emo one do stuff.
But, Naruto has much slower pace, so they're allowed more sub-plots, wich means more characters and sagas, while avatar has the main plot and a few sub-plots.

Avatar characters don't waste time making those hand signs and calling their attacks.

I'm sorry, I know this is slightly off topic, but I'd like to know exactly how you can say Naruto is good at all, much less better than Avatar (I'll give you Death Note and Bleach). They just stand there, shouting out corny lines, shouting the names of their attacks, then throwing clones and needles at each other. Then you have ten filler episodes of Naruto being stupid and/or eating ramen.

Zuko may be the most developed, but he's hardly the only one...

Naruto has one of the most complex and original stories out there. Can the same be said for Avatar?
    * walks in * Hell yes. * walks out *
Tell me how avatar is original? I've seen Saturday morning cartoons with better plots.

    Name one.

And while we're at it, show me an example of how Naruto has good action at all. Might as well give an example of plot, too.

Asking why a 14 year old can shoot lightning is silly when you watch a show where 13 year olds have demons in them and can clone themselves, and another 13 year old can control sand. You get the point.

People, don't respond to this thread. It's just Naruto fans trying to make themselves feel better by saying their show is superior while calling it 'a friendly debate' so the mods don't TOS them. No matter how logical or insulting your comments are, they'll never agree with you. Let it go.

The fights seem kind of the same to me. Especially since no1 but the Avatar can master more than 1 element. (have they explained why that is btw)

Slow, do you read the manga there battle's are nicely paced and also thats not the reason The creator of Naruto said sice his life is kinda slow paced he wanted his manga to be also, but I hardlt think of it as slow.

No. Naruto has far more drama than Avatar ever will have. Avatar is pansy enough that there isn't any character death. Talk about weak.

Wasting time, the handsigns are like done in 2 seconds and have you seen Itachi do them its like in one second he realeses the jutsu.
