k i just thought of something what if zuko has a higher plan, maybe he is pulling an azula on azula!!!what if he tricked her like she has done to him sooo many times!!
at the end of the episode, when it was just azula and zuko, i kept thinking *hoping* that zuko would turn and all of a sudden attack her or something on the line of what you said. i suppose theres always season 3.
i know nick left us on such a cliffhanger, they tricked our minds!!anyways, i really have a feeling that zuko is good deep down and that iroh, katara, and his mother really effected him, zuko is one of my favorite characters and to see him make that bad decision really dissapointed me, he better redeem himself, i think thats what the nick creators are setting up
he's (zuko) one of my favorites too. i just hope that the creators aren't as mean as to drop his case with this. i think he'll somehow redeem himself because i'm sure we're not the only dissapointed zuko fans. if he does redeem, i hope its something really big.
ughh i know!!For a moment I thought that Zuko would be so. . good, and do the right thing!i just really hope that he redeems himself and I think that may have something to do with his mother, and possibly his uncle and katara they wouldn't have included all of this foreshadowing and charachter development, they have built Zuko up to be more than an easily manipulated evil prince, he has a good side he has oh so close to being "the beautiful prince" he as meant to be.
i know. if the creators wanted us to hate zuko in the beginning (of the series) then love him (second season) and then hate him again... grrr, thier gunna have to make up thier minds!
i know!!the creators must like messing with our minds!!
    true that!
this has been like the biggest cliffhanger of the series and now we have to wait like 3 months for a new one!!:'[nick must really hate us right now

I know at the beginning of the show I has kinda mad because Zuko was too too nice plus all the rumors of his scar getting healed I just thought if that happened he just wouldn;t be Zuko anymore and he'd look too much like Jet. Also, Yay Toph!!!! I love her she is deffinately the world greatest earthbender.

The action was amazing in this episode everyone has totally increased in skill! can't wait till season 3!!!

Why do I have the feeling that everyone who said this episode sucked is just really pissed that Zuko didn't turn good at the end...

What's up with Toph holding on to Sokka's arms?......

I think creators are trying to tease us with that.......

But yeah Toph bending metal. Unless Bumi can do that also, she truly is the greatest Earthbender in my book.

This poor forum is getting posted to like there's no tomorrow.

    Predictions for season 3, anyone?

Mine- Zuko good. Azula destroys her father. Something happens to Katara which causes Aang to go into the avatar state, and save everyone, eventually bringing Katara back.

You know in the end we'll have a happy ending.

Yes! YES! Zuko stayed a villain just like I hoped. He's charecter continues to be the most interesting on the show by far. Really when he walked up to Azula and Aang and was looking back and forth between the two, I was like "Attack Aang, do it!" And when he did, it was awesome. Great episode, with even greater plot twist. I guess we can all agree that Zuko won't be Aangs fire bending teacher, although by the end of book 3 Zuko will probably be good.

i bet bumi will make a move in the third season... that would be cool

My bro and I were talking after the episode about what would happen next. I assume that the group will head over to Omushu and maybe SOMETHING will have changed for the better i.e. Bumi is now ruling, or the General is compassionate or something. I'm placing my money on my guess that Zuko will change his mind and turn against Azula at a critical point. If they aren't heading to Omushu, then I presume they are heading to Eastern Air Temple to let Aang finish his "controlling of avatar state" training, or something. But ugh, I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT EPISODE!

Aww crap. I was wrong. But hey, at least I can blame the evil creators of the show. Leaving us with a cliffhanger like that? Pure evil. Even worse than Azula. My story worked out happy for everyone, but NOOOO..... everyone has to be sad now. Zuko betrayed the only guy who stood by him, Sokka didn't get to fight with dad, Iroh gets arrested, Long Feng AND Azula are still alive, the Earth Kindom fell, Aang gave up Katara, and the Avatar state was destroyed. Or at least the past Avatar's power and knowledge was destroyed. I can't tell if the glow down the arrow means the full powers, or if he is the start of a NEW generation of avatars (him being the first in the line), or if he is just some airbender without the "multi-bending" power of the Avatar. OH CRAP.

(Yes he did die for a minute. Did you see the hole in his back?)

Oh and by the way......Zutarans? In your face.

Aang didn't give up Katara. What I think is that Aang died for a little, then Katara used her water to revive him so the reincarnation cycle started again.??The cycle??probably stopped during the time Aang was dead. And yes, IN YOUR FACE ZUTARA FANS!

The Bai Sing Sai pretty much handed over the earth kingdom to the fire nation.

I officially have a new favorite episode.

Anyways, I see alot of people who dont like the episode too much becuase of a few reasons: cliffhanger, Zuko's decision, no enemy vanquished, Ba Sing Se falls etc. I personally believe it was genius to surprise people like that, remember people, the situations Aang gets in are not peaches and cream, he has enemies left and right. He is surounded by turmoil that affects him and those close to him. All this emotion was visually translated by the intensity of the episode. A finale is supposed to be the highest point in excitment and from the looks of things people are pretty excited. This is why it was a great idea to have a season finale like this, the creators wanted to rock you, get you hyped, get you shocked, get you mad, they put together a finale that was so emotionally intense it shook everyone who watched it both positively and negatively. I personally beleive that the loss of Ba Sing Se was a great addition, it makes things worse, which is good in this case. By having the "hero" fail it shows whats really going on, and whats really going on is war, suffering, betrayal, death, love and hate. The failure at the end helped in making things worse for the Gaang. It puts more up against the hero. If there was a happy ending it might've seemed too fake, too perfect for the hero. Now its obvious to the viewers that the story is getting really crazy. The fire nation is continuing to take over the world, and thats making the hype all the more crazier. The events in this episode are going to have some long term effects in season 3. Zuko reverted back to his old ways of trying to catch the avatar. This is all the effect of him longing to achieve his father's acceptence. Azula succeeded in convincing him he could have it all back if they teamed up. She used his weakness against him and in his hightened emotional turmoil he did what he thought would bring him to his greatest goal: his fathers acceptance. This desire has now personafied itself as Zuko fighting the avatar in an attempt to capture him. And ofcourse the episode ended on a cliffhanger. Leaving us with all these terrible events to ponder about untill the next season starts. We wonder what will happen to all these people, and thats only adding more fuel to the excitement. One thing that really struck me was how tragic it seemed when Aang and Katara were fighting Azula, only to have Zuko jump in and assist Azula and put more up against Aang and Katara. I almost cried too when tears went down Katara's face when she witnessed Aang get struck with a bolt of lighting from Azula. Everything was so crazy in the finale, everything seemed to go wrong for Aang. This is the world of Avatar, full of surprises and conflicts. And it was portrayed well in this episode.

After thinking about it I don't think Aang lost his avatar spirit, because after Katara heals him, his tattoos glow.?? I think this was giving us comfermation that he is still the Avatar.

Okay, I came home from work and I just managed to catch the last part of the finale. Zuko, Zuko, Zuko.....I am disappointed. That doesn't mean that I'm surprised though. However, Azula tricked him before so, what makes him think that she couldn't do it again (even though it doesn't seem like she would this time)? I will admit one thing though...he has gotten stronger as a fire bender. I mean dang! I also??think that Zuko does regret turning on Iroh to team up with Azula. But with all of these events taking place, I really want to see how this will all play out in season three.

Is it just me or does the avatar state suck!Dont get me wrong its powerful and everything but at the end when aang was going in the avatar state it was so??damn slow.Azula srticked as soon as he started floating.but aang didnt even try to protect hiself. And he was floating so slow anybody could have attacked him.Its like avatar Roku said to aang in the episode The Avatar State, even though you are more powerful in the avatar state, you are also most vulnerable. The avatar state might have a strong offense but it has a weak defense.

Yes, yes I did. Especially when Mai said to just take the bear. She's so...nevermind. Don't know how to put it.

I think the first half of next season will be the gaang taking back ba sing se and then the last half will be the war with the firenation

ZUKO YOU MORON! You were so close to changing. You listened to the blue dragon instead of the red. You blue it zuko, you blue it real bad (bad pun). THis episode was so depressing, BUT SO AMAZING.
