So -- It's OK for Aang to feel love, but not to become attached to whom (or what) he loves. But then, is it really love? Maybe it is. In the Chris Reeve Superman movie series, he is allowed to love the people of earth, but not to single anyone out. But what does that make Kal-El (or Aang)? A herobot?

Is the avatar dead? not aang but the avatar spirit? think about it, roku said that if the avatar died when he was in the avatar state, the avatar chain whould be broken. when azula atacked aang when he was in the avatar state, she might have killed him and brouht back to life by the water from the owasise. if this is the case, then was the avatar spirit brouht back???

I doubt he would be dead or we would have no show but I do think it might lead up to when the series finale comes..Aang will be the last avatar thus ending the series.

I Agree whole heartley with you aang died and got brought back to life but he is the last avatar.

I agree about the disappointment of Aang being able to go through??all but one??chakras in about an hour it seemed in The Guru.?? The writers should have cut down time and had the Guru explain all the chakra's and have Aang learn how to accomplish them on his own time throughout season 3 and have him accomplish them at the very end when he has to battle the Fire Lord.?? It would have gave them much more time to develop CoD instead of the very rushed outcome.

i know nick left us on such a cliffhanger, they tricked our minds!!anyways, i really have a feeling that zuko is good deep down and that iroh, katara, and his mother really effected him, zuko is one of my favorite characters and to see him make that bad decision really dissapointed me, he better redeem himself, i think thats what the nick creators are setting up
he's (zuko) one of my favorites too. i just hope that the creators aren't as mean as to drop his case with this. i think he'll somehow redeem himself because i'm sure we're not the only dissapointed zuko fans. if he does redeem, i hope its something really big.
ughh i know!!For a moment I thought that Zuko would be so. . good, and do the right thing!i just really hope that he redeems himself and I think that may have something to do with his mother, and possibly his uncle and katara they wouldn't have included all of this foreshadowing and charachter development, they have built Zuko up to be more than an easily manipulated evil prince, he has a good side he has oh so close to being "the beautiful prince" he as meant to be.
i know. if the creators wanted us to hate zuko in the beginning (of the series) then love him (second season) and then hate him again... grrr, thier gunna have to make up thier minds!
i know!!the creators must like messing with our minds!!
    true that!
this has been like the biggest cliffhanger of the series and now we have to wait like 3 months for a new one!!:'[nick must really hate us right now
    they just might!
this whole episode has me very confused i really hope zuko turns away from azula cuz she deserves to die!!

that fight scene left me speechless, we had a storm warning during the betrayal so I never saw that, I just saw the fight...

Katara owned, nothing more, she was unblievable.

Aang isn't a good fighter, ZUKO presented a hard match for him and they kicked each other around, a few things I noticed about this episode:

    1. I had been waiting 37 episodes (since episode 2) to see aang finally master the avatar state and be able to control it, and as it finally happens he's killed 5 seconds into it. (YES HE DIED, AZULA KILLED AANG FOR A FEW MINUTES, he wasn't knocked unconscious, he was dead)

    2. Katara is totally in love with aang, there's no question, she cried in happiness cause he finally mastered the avatar state, and cried when he was killed (of course) almost cried when she revived him, big hug when he saved her.

    3. Since episode 21 I thought there was a reason for Roku to tell aang if he was killed in the??the avatar state the cycle??would be broken, but I didn't think he'd get killed, damn was I wrong.

    4. I'm really pissed off about him getting killed cause now he's gunna have to get his courage back and we're not going to see the avatar state (which pwns, I love seeing him so powerful) till the episode where he confronts Ozai prolly.

    5. I like this show too much, I was so shocked with him getting hit with that lightning I had to watch the fight scene 6 times until I could stop trembling and thinking about it. Aang is my fav character, I like to see him own it up...

other than that, Toph pretty much is the nastiest earthbender out there, metal... jesus Katara is the best water bender in the world no question, and aang... well if he can learn how to fight, now that he can step into the avatar state at will (if he EVER gets courage to do it again, I guarantee that first fear mastering is gunna take a LONG time to fix, he's gunna be totally afraid of Azula), where the crap are the kyoshi warriors and jet, at least tell us their dead, and if not where are they... What the hell are they going to do with the earth king and his bear... I bet they kill Iroh off, or he becomes aang's firebending teacher somehow

and yea, I'm pissed Aang died, that's his only freebee, stunning but brilliant episode

    And toph... wow

I think the writers will get the best of us once again because we always predict what will happen and now we will try to look for the non-obvious situations (since Zuku went with Azula)...they will probably create something none of us would ever imagine...

I just feel really sad for Iroh. He treated Zuko like his son; stood by him, taught him, helped him, supported him. But Azula? She lied to him, tricked him, attacked him. And he goes and helps Azula, and betrays his uncle? I was really disappointed about that. Inevitably, Zuko will probably turn good, otherwise all the talk in the episodes about him "becoming the beautiful prince he was always meant to be" would've been for nothing. But, it's going to take a lot for him to turn himself around again, but I guess the creators could pull it off.

The Lightning bolt did kill aang, because if you remember correctly katara did not just use water on him to heal his "wound" she used the special vial and the fact that he died in the avatar state means ALOT for the series.

They cant kill Iroh off because he's the best because he is "Iroh The Dragon of The West" and yes he will become Aang's ( that weakling) fire bending teacher, hopefully iroh's great power can rub off on that sorry excuse of an avatar

    KATAANG! KATAANG! KATAANG! KATAANG!

Hell Yeah!!!! This was TOTALLY WICKED AWESOME! Toph can metalbend. She totally fricken rocks.(no pun intended) Iroh fire breath was totally awesome!!! The fight sequences...holy crap....I was on the edge of my seat the entire time yelling at the screen.(Which disturbed my dad who was watching Rambo Pt.2) And for all those out there underestimating Katara and saying it was illogical that she was that awesome, think about it this way. She taught HERSELF waterbending, and Master Pakku even said that she had "advanced more quickly than any student he'd ever trained". And besides, she's the one who taught Aand how to waterbend. She's a very capable warrior. And Katara felt betrayed yet again, so she had alot of anger behind her fighting.

But I'm sooooooooooo glad Zuko didn't join their party. His nicey-nice-the-daises-are-so-pretty atittude, was just plain creepy.*shudders* I was just waiting for him to snap. Thank goodness Katara didn't use her spirit oasis water on him, then she wouldn't have been able to save Aang. And I do think Aang died, then Katara resurected him. Did you see the way he dropped? It was like all the life had left his body...That move Katara did was out of pure emotion. You could tell because she was crying when she did it, it was so awesome. She just leveled them!!!!! Then Iroh stepped in and helped them escape. The way he looked at Zuko...I couldn't??stand it if my uncle looked at me like that...he looked totally betrayed and completely alone...I feel so bad for him. I hope the gang breaks him out then goes and kicks some major Azula @$$!!! And the Kataangness has made my little shipper heart go a flutter. My brother usually watches this with me but he had to work 3rd so he won't be home til 6:30am, I'm so psyched up I can't wait til tomorrow when I'm gonna watch it again! It's score on my scale is 999,999,999,999,999,999!!! An awesome end to an awesome season!(And yes I know I've used the word??awesome alot, so sue me, I'd like to see you try to build a case against me

P.S:Take that all you Zutarans!!!!! Kataangers Forever!!!!!!

Maybe someone's mentioned this already (I don't know, 85 new threads just appeared in the last two hours)...

But did anybody notice how many new or improved bending powers there were in this? Allow me to illustrate:

-- Toph masters the art of Metalbending. (yes, go Toph!! woot, woot!!)

-- Zuko uses fire techniques stronger and more advanced than any episode before (at least, that I've seen). Examples: He punched a true fire blast, utterly powerful, complete with ringing shockwave of flame. And those whips... it was like a knife through hot butter; quite original to the show. This is the boy who first tried to kill Azula with knife flames! Indeed, the 1st grader has grown up.

-- Azula, not considering all her fire-blasts (which were even stronger than the Drill battle), harnessed flame and literally flew. Daddy would be so proud!

-- Momo got captured by Dai Li, and strangely resembled a hand grenade.

-- Aang masters the Avatar state. However, he kind of let that distract him from watching nearby enemies, which had... severe consequences. But there were a lot of new moves he used. Riding the landslide (invented by Toph), crystal man (like Toph's rock man-- do you see a pattern yet?), he shot a man-shaped blast of air (now you have to admit, THAT was original), etc.

    Need I go on?

Yeah, it's important that Nickelodeon have some originality in every episode. They've lived true to that. However, this had a LOT of originality, and made for a worthy season finale.

My conclusion: Season 3 will be very good.
