The avatar community suddenly erupted with activity, not even the movie did this!

Anyway I think the bad group will be Dai Li esque

I also think that waterbenders will be discriminated against, from what I hear their part of the city is like a ghetto

Wow, this series is already shaping up beyond my expectations as I expected. A much more mature tone, elemental discrimination, anti-bending guerilla militias, Water Tribe ghettoz?? Toss in some heavy-duty urbanization of civilization, commercialism, materialism, government takeover, recreational bending drugs, some gun powder, and the good ole' 'last of a dying breed' mumbo jumbo and this series will have me hooked like a chronic jonesin' to get his fix.

Apperently, Aang died because of spending a lot of time in the ice berg, possibly meaning there is a time limit that the avatar spirit can be in a body.

When I said last of a dying breed, I mainly meant a possible decline of spiritualism in the Avatar World. Perhaps we will explore a time where people have grown past all the spiritual mumbo jumbo that the previous series helped cemented. Show contrast between the possible few who still lives their lives following the old ancients ways compared to the possible many who are keeping it up with the changing times. That sort of stuff.

Would be interesting to see what becomes of the sky bisons, though.

...I didn't mean write out the mythology entirely. They could still pull something like that out of their hat and continue to expand upon the mythology at the same time.

I think they just didn't want to give away anything like how he died also they said there is a link between the new series and the old series

i was a little late on watching Avatar: the last airbender but the real thing that caught my attention was the role of Azula villain that has a softer side.

I was a little disappointed on how the series ended with her being insane made me feel bad for her with no one loving her and no one for her to love ( she fell into darkness because of the separation from people thinking love is a weakness).

In this new series (if they make one) I am hoping for more development for Azula (i liked how Zuko came out i kinda want Azula along the same lines) for her to be evil and bad at first but slowly going through experiences that change her personality and in the end her life.

To accomplish this I hope they have her adventuring with a shady guy powerful fire/air bender who has a knack in getting in trouble breaks out of jail really lost in life(no family) until Azula helps him and he realizes that she is the first person who has cared for him and Azula slowly realizes that he cares for her. This mutual relationship changes them throughout the series from evil and bad to some what good.

Also they should add in the most important thing is bringing Ursa (Azula and Zuko mom) back to reunite with her kids and help Azula through her life changing process being good.

The thing about that is, Ursa DID love her she jut paid more attention to Zuko cause he needed it more she was loved but she never really felt it

You are completely right thats y i felt bad for her when she broke down at the end of the series after losing and feeling like no one cared for her.

Thats y im hoping that if they make a new series is that they go into more detail with Azula's story and see her go through changes after the war, seeing that she has no friends now I hope they pair her up with some guy character to help her on her adventures and plans.

No you're right. I really like that thought. If they're getting ideas from Hong Kong in the 1920s, that was about their time during its Industrial Revolution caused by the British. A lot of its culture and philosophy was lost at that time because Eastern and Western ideas are very different. With that said, the idea of Republic City with that aura is very appealing.

It's kind of the same for what happened in the Southern Water Tribe in ATLA. The benders were lost and therefore so was a culture.

The steam-punk technology could be overshadowing the past in which benders were generally respected and helped to reshape the world. I could see people as blaming them for the 100 Year War and claiming that they don't need them anymore because they have so many technological advances to work with.

well its true isn't it? benders are more of a convenience than anything else. they are always the ones causing wars since their the ones who gain political control (besides the earth king though he might of just not been born a bender like the rest of his family). i mean i wouldn't want them around either if their always the center of conflict. their powers are useful for landscaping and getting rid of polution but the cost is your rights and freedom because you have no way of fighting them.
