As forZuko being the most developed, he really isn't, he just went through the most changes. He was intended to be the character to go through the most changes from the start. As for the other characters, they've changed quite a bit as well. Aang is no longer the happy go lucky kid we saw come out of the iceberg. Toph used to be an abrasive girl who seemed to not care too much about anything, and now she admits that she does love her parents (as well as Sokka). Ty Lee, Mai, and them are side characters so they don't really count, except for the bit of background information we have about them. So yes, Avatar is a pretty good show that's intelligently written and isn't all about over-the-top violence as much as it's about the characters themselves. Naruto has nice action, but is it even as meticulous as the motion-captured martial arts action in Avatar? Didn't think so. Plotwise, Avatar has a much, much tighter storyline that has been clearly thought out from the beginning. Naruto (and Bleach, and most animes) have much looser, and dare I say, more rambling narrative. And while you can get a lot more episodes out of such a narrative, it simply isn't as well plotted or paced. Unlike you, we get a peice of story with every (sometimes every other) episode, instead of every ten episodes. Quality>Quantity, and complex=/=good. |
Naruto has better quality than Avatar because it has far more drama. Avatar is weak as there's no character death. Sheesh, talk about squeamish writers. |
List of characters that have died:
Yue Zhao Jet Combustion Man
Not to mention a ton of implied deaths. | ZOMG FOUR charcters....wow...just...wow.

Hard to tell between all the goofing around and boring infodump the characters spout. | And Aang doesn't goof around and act like an idiot |
Yes, but minimal by comparison. |
