So let me get this straight, you're basing maturity on numerals? And on what women generally feel attracted to? I doubt that will give you an accurate portrayal of someone's maturity. I know plenty of 40-year olds who still behave like little brats. |
Yes, I judge maturity on age.?? On average, do people mature as they get older.?? The point was that in an arguement of who would katara see as more mature I pointed to the fact that women almost always date older men.?? This is also based off my time as a bartender and the many women who expressed the same mindset, that they just feel awkward dating a younger guy.?? This is also based off the idea that as you get older you get wiser and more mature.?? Are there exceptions yes, but I thought the point was who would a young girl see as more mature??? A pre-pubescent boy or a 17 year old prince, both of whom portray near equal levels of maturity if we discuss their actions and choices, which I address below.?? Ever tried to tell a girl that some guy she has a crush on is not good for her with a logical argument??? Did it work??? uh huh...

My opinion on the maturity thing: both still have signs of immaturity. But it is undeniable that Zuko's maturity level is far below par. His obsessiveness, narrowmindedness and his general uncoordinated and impulsive way of thinking and acting does make him the least mature main character of the show. Aang still acts like a little brat now and again, he gets pissed, can be rather naive, but he's also helpfull, altruistic, self-sacrificing and thoughtful. All signs of mental maturity. So I guess that does put Aang a level higher than Zuko. |
zuko has also??shown signs of helpfulness, altruistism, self-sacrifice, and thoughtfulness.?? defending the lives of his countrymen in front of a council of elders who were going to use them as cannon fodder.?? helping an earth kingdom village with??little concern to his own need to keep his identity hidden.?? seeing the pain caused by his nation and feeling sorry for it.?? Actually apologizing to katara for her loss and empathizing with her in that loss.??
I don't see zuko as a whiny, spoiled prince.?? He's had a pretty crappy life all things considered, and he's making the best of it.?? There are few 17 year olds who would not crumble under the weight he's had to carry, not to mention he was even younger than that when he was first banished.
