Nickelodeon (ended 2008)
Honestly, I think Appa might be an airbender. I also believe that Air bison were the first airbenders.??Think about it:
They are born with arrows on their head, similar to the arrows that an airbender recieves upon becoming a??master
Most,??if not all, animals that can fly have bone masses that are lighht in comparison to their body weight. Air bison are really heavy, and have no wings.

You aren't the first person to think this...and also not the first to make a thread about it either...but you're right Aang is the last Airbender but Aang may have children someday...and they'll have children...and by the time Aang dies THEN a new Avatar will be born into the Water Tribe,??when he or she dies an??Earth Kingdom Avatar, then??Fire Nation, and back into Air again...that's a good couple generations of the sons and daughters of Aang to spread that Airbender dna (part of bending is genetics after all ya know) so I'm thinkin' no the Avatar cycle won't be broken |
"Thats EXACTLY what i thought!!! hes gonna have bsabies which are going to have the avatar DNA. so.......

I'm pretty sure the bisons taught or inspired the first air nomads to airbend.?? The bison are born with the arrow on their heads and a master airbender gets an arrow tattoo on their heads as a symbol of that feat.?? Anyway, I like the idea of there being an under water hiding place near or under the Eastern Air Temple.?? That would explain why there are no other bodies besides Gyatso's and how such a powerful bender could have been defeated.?? That could also explain how they don't know that the Avatar has returned since it would probably be quite difficult to find out news without revealing that they were still alive and in hiding.?? Just a theory.
The other explanation as to why there are no other bodies could be that the firenation captured everyone else in hopes of finding the Avatar and took them all to the firenation or the Western Air Temple where they became prisoners.?? We have never seen or heard anything about the Western Air Temple.?? Which leads me to believe that it's probably under firenation control and that it may be used as a prison establishment for airbenders and who ever else.?? I think it's an interesting and even a plausible idea, in my opinion.

??I really hope for this too. I REALLY REALLY REEEEEALLLLLY want this to happen. Aside from that though. I dont think The fire nation Couldve destroyed the Air Nomads for these reasons.... 1. You cant annihlate an entire nation there are always stragglers. 2. The Air temples could not have been the only settlements. 3. The nomads knew war was coming so they might have prepared. 4. The fire nation couldnt have attacked all 4 temples at once so there was warning. 5. During the battles, the monks would make the children leave while others engaged the soldiers. 6. Some could have hid. 7. Finally there is no evidence of genocide. The temples are pretty much intact. No scorch marks, collapsed buildings, the fire nation would probably be more messy. And unless they burned the bodies, Gyastos skeleton is the only remains left. Its possible that when the fire nation attacked the temples, most of the monks had fled and only a few remained.
???? I really do believe that there are many more airbenders out there waiting, hiding and rebuilding..... but look at how many years the fire nation had to wipe out all the airbenders...100 years
Just interjecting that though.... i myself think there must be more airbenders though
Think about it: They're called "Air Nomads". Nomads traveled around, following food, resorces, etc. and seldom if ever settled down. Now, while the monks stayed at the Air Temples, who's to say there weren't a few dozen who were living out in the Earh Kingdom or Water Tribes? Maybe even Fire Nation? Maybe they escaped their more stationary conrads fate?
And, in the TCG, there's somebody called Monk Fitso or something, and he supposedly turned traitor to the other monks, and was living in the F.N. until he died. Who's to say he didn't have kids, who had kids, who had kids, who were Airbenders?
I think Aang is the last air bender but not the last air nomad.
