I think she would have kicked his a$$ because she is alot better. He caught her by surprise so she only halfed blocked and got hit into a tree thus knocking her unconsious.Plus how did Zuko get up there with anng there was no path going up.

I say he would've won. Plus suprise is part of a fight. That's why they are called suprise attacks. But she was clearly better when the terrain was in her favor when they were on that snowy area.

It's terrain advantage. There's more to a fight then power and skill. She used the snow under zukos feet as zuko used the tree behind katara.

They were fighting at night so Katara's bending was stronger. Zuko won the first round??because the sun appeared

Something I just realized. Is??the north pole not really on the pole of there planet? And normally to have seasons it should have the planet on an axis. Because it changed from night to day back to night quite quickly for the north pole because if the planet is on an axis it shouldve had a 6 month night or something like that.

Katara had multiple advantages in that fight. Durring the first part of the battle it was at night durring a full moon, which is when a Waterbenders powers are at their absolute strongest. Also, she was in her native terrain. She was free to bend absolutly everything around her, the snow on the ground, the ice on the walls, the water in the pond.

Once the sun rose and Zuko's powers were increased and Katara's decreased he was able to win quickly thanks to the tree, though he probably could of still won without it. His attacks now had the power they needed to punch through her defenses.

??In their third confrontation she again had all her advantages

I've wondered that too. Plus whose Summer is Aang meant to have learnt all the elements by and defeat the fire lord? As in the Boy in the Iceberg, Sokka says something about too much midnight sun. Surely that means that the Southern hemisphere, which seems to include the Fire Nation, is having it's Summer right there and then.

Don't nitpick over who would have won if it was a different time of day or if the terrain was different.?? Utilizing all aspects of one's environment is the mark of a good martial artist.?? Not all fights will take place in a dojo and one should learn to adapt readily to one's surroundings.

    Take that back!

Katara only won because it was a full moon.
    Normally Zuko would win easy.

Look at the post above yours...
There's a very little chance that we would see Katara and Zuko fight in a formal match in a dojo with no outside factors. Bending and martial arts are taught for real-life application. If someone assaults you in the street, throw sand at him or hit him with a garbage can lid; don't expect an honor duel.

Bah he only got through her defenses because it was only partly up because he surprised her.The tree did help him cause if u get hit hard anough in the back u will be knocked out.about her being in her terrain he has fire thats not limited by resourses.

Katara had a distinct advantage with all the snow and water around...and the full moon to boot, plus I think Zuko was holding back just a little...he may have been the 'bad guy' at the time but he was never portrayed as being evil...he wouldn't have wanted to permanently hurt her...and it would have to be hard NOT to hurt people with firebending...or worse, kill her.?? Not to mention he was injured from the pirates attack and had just swam through all that freezing cold water...he was far from his best...it's really hard to say, and it's unlikely there'll be a rematch...he's no longer the antagonist...in all likelihood he'll soon be an ally...

Katara is really good, but Zuko has been getting better. I think it would be close.

I feel that Zuko does not show a variety of firebending moves...he mostly only shoots fire at the adversary, which is easy enough to block, especially the newly trained Katara,on a full moon night.

The only way it would be a fair fight is if the sun and the moon was not out.IF thats the case zuko would own that stupid little girl.
