    it was clear that during the zuko and sokka vs azula battle that azula had the slight edge. just because sokka gave zuko some time when he went in to stab azula. although by the next time they meet i'm sure that zuko will be better than azula or evenly matched at the least. he will win their next battle. if theres one.

    I agree there. they already started to establish her are more than a one dimentional villain. I want them not to forget that she is a human being, but don't forget she is evil as well.

    How do you make him worse than Azula, though, and still fit within censorship limits?

    1. SUKI!!! (I ALMOST saw her VA in Avenue Q, btw!) Totally awesome the way she captured the warden. I won't be surprised when that pic of her tying the gag around the warden's mouth will be posted on the Stuff You Never See Thread. Suggestive, but full of win. However, I would like to have seen more of bad-ass Suki. For parts of the episode she was mostly the damsel in distress, which she was, but it didn't seem right for her.

    2. ZUKO!!!!! Major hotness in the episode, and majorly funny lines. His best episode yet, I think. He and Sokka were great together. He's buddied up with Aang, and now he's friends with Sokka. and Katara's next, we all know that!
    (Now an avid shipper of Zukokka, if Zutara or Maiko doesn't wourk out.)

    3. ROCKETZULA!!!! Or Jet-pack Azula. Either way, full of win/slight freakiness.

    4. HAKODA!!!! Seriously, why hasn't anyone discussed him yet? His lines were great; he easily acted like both a loving father and a warrior-prisoner at the same time. It was very sweet to see him talk with Sokka, but it was totally sweet when he defied the warden and tried to start a riot I am still amazed by him in this episode.

    5. WARDEN!!!! My first thoughts:

    "OMG the Warden's a woman! Um, I like the girl power and all, but she looks like a really ugly guy!"

    *Warden starts talking*

    "OMFG it IS a guy!!!"

    Anyone else?

    6. IROH!!!! He wasn't there, which totally sucked. I thought he was going to be there, since Zuko was talking about him in the beginning, but he wasn't. I missed him, but I'm not really disappointed, since the whoel episode was too full of win for me to really care.

    7. MAI/TY LEE!!!! Yaysh! Mai was cool and all, and she had awesome character development. I had wanted to hear her reaction to his letter, and her reading it aloud was an added plus. But I really was proud of Ty Lee. I've always liked her character, since I sort of act like her sometimes. Buddies!!!

    8. DIALOGUE/PLOT!!!! Amazing. Amazing everything. I cannot possibly state the enormous amount of magnificent awesomeness that was put into this script.

    I'm thinking of sending the Avatar crew all thank-you cards.

    Azula's reaction to Ty Lee attacking her, she was angry. It just like Obama, really angry for betrayl by a friend.

    1. She wasn't really a damsel in distress, though...Damsel, yes, but never like used as a hostage or anything. She's not Kagome, lawl.

    4. Kinda painful to see Hakoda forced to look the warden in the eye like that. He IS strong-willed, and to have him "broken" so quickly sucked.
    5. I was distracted by his giant monkey lip. xD
    6. He was brought up by Zuko to draw a parallel with Sokka. Like Zuko said, Iroh's more of a father to him, and he let him down. Sokka feels as if he let Hakoda down, too. It gave them more things in common, letting down a father figure.

    On the subject of Zuko and Sokka parrallyl's, now that Hakoda is back, I think when he sees Hakoda, Sokka, and Katara together, a loving family, he will see the family he never had. The opposite of his father and sister.

    I know Iroh was more of a father figure, but still it is not the same.

    Wow, I can't believe that wasn't in the front of my mind. That is true. I also wondered what Zuko was thinking when Sokka was talking about his dad, and when it was obvious how much Sokka loved him. I foresee a Zuko-Hakoda talk in the future.

    In response to raienbrasa's response to #4: I thought so too-I kept thinking Sokka would almost blow his cover right there out of anger (totally something an Avatar character would do). The way he tripped the warden afterward was very funny, though

    azula needs to be a villian. if she was a good guy what would she do? get in a ship with aang(zaang)?

    I desperately hope Azula would remain the villian up to the end. In my own opinion, if she turned "good" - that would be just creepy. I can't really see her changing. I think she'll definitely have a mental breakdown because of Mai and Ty Lee's betrayal so now everything will domino effect just as I said earilier.

    Because I have nothing better to do, I decided to time exactly how long it took Suki to capture the warden. Starting from when she begins to climb on that guy's head and ending at the moment she finishes tying the warden's head piece over his mouth, it takes her exactly 33 seconds.

    there's nothing that tells us zuko has become better than azula. if anything, i think they want us to think azula's better than zuko. she was unrealistically monkey like in DOBS, and she fought well against zuko and sokka even with a locational disadvantage.

    and to the guy in the 2nd quote, getting angry only increases your firebending power. losing drive is what makes it go away. and we all know azula has plenty of drive.

    Yes but when your angry you lose control (Zhao). That's why Azula wins, she's always in perfect control. But now that that's gone...
