but i think her smarts and skills are good enough to still be on par with zuko's even if she does go nuts. she'll probably lose to him somehow though because it's just to sweet of a moment

i was starting to like maiko before this but now i totally love it!!! if i wasnt such a loyal zutara shipper i might say i love maiko more. loved zuko in this one! he is such a dork, that joke he told, lol. already loved suki now i love her even more. sokka was great, it was just all great. i didnt like katara in this on though, at least she could pretend to be nice! but i would act the same if i were her

Even though a tad biased (Zutara), I like Maiko less in this ep; I didn't get a 'romantic' "I care about you" vibe, I get a "I've known you for forever and it'd be really mean" vibe.
ANYWAYS, at least it wasn't filler. Still don't know how they're gonna pull it off in 6 more eps, though. From the looks of the trailer, we have a while to go. I can't wait to see Azula, though!

i think that the girls could have gotten away, i mean there is a riot some guards are down, they could own the guards there and mai could take the car and ty lee could wait till mai is safe and run across the cable, thats wat i didnt like

Contrary and concurring to popular fan belief, Ty Lee and Mai are not all powerful, respectively. Ty Lee blocks chi, not fireballs. And Mai has censorship that renders her powerless.

As for TL taking down the TT so easily, they probably thought...well I think this video can explain it better than I can.

I too think that Azula going really good would be a little bit too sugary sweet. Maybe if she dies while doing something good, but I don't want to see her alive and acting all...different.

I agree there. I wouldn't be mind if they seemed more good by default to Ozai. I really want them to elevate Ozai as the ultimate evil, and make everyone else even Azula seem not so bad by comparison to him.

This is the only way I see that we can keep an evil Azula but still root for her in the end. I mean, the only reason Ozai keeps Azula around is to use her like a weapon. Once he declares himself phoenix lord (or whatever) he may decide he's so powerful that he doesn't need an heir anymore, or he might prefer to just make a new one because Azula is too much like him and he fears an attempt at the throne like he planned. One is going to betray the other, the only question is who does it first, and with Azula in mental break down she might not see it coming. The way I envision it, we get the Azula/Zuko showdown, Azula wins because she's better (I love Zuko. His charater is great because he isn't the best. If he was to become some great amazing firebending master in the finale it would ruin him as much as making Azula Aang's bff). And I forget who just brought this up, but firebending is fueled by drive, and in this situation her drive to win will be more than it has ever been. Internal conflict may take her lightning away (please no!) but her anger isn't going to weaken her firebending. And Zhao was just an idiot. He didn't lose because he used anger, he lost because he's sloppy. Anyway, so Azula wins, but before she finishies him (lots of reasons she might not. She's always seemed to hold herself back when fighting Zuko. Maybe it's just me, but I do think part of her kinda cares, somewhere deep down buried under a life time of being taught to think he is worthless and weak. Same argument people have been bringing up with Mai and Ty Lee. There is a form of emotion there somewhere). So yeah, perhaps she's deciding whether or not to finish him and then Ozai lightning blasts her in the back for the ultimate final betrayal. And he would. Two birds with one stone deal. He removes Azula as a threat, and gets to finish off Zuko for the events of DOBS. That would be great.

And then we might get the Azula/Ursa scene. I don't think this will neccessarily turn her good, but it will work to completely destroy her conviction in what she has devoted her life to. Maybe similar to what Zuko went through, but like 100 times worse because most of Zuko wanted to be good, but no part of Azula wants to change. It's going to be forcefully taken from her, and that is going to leave her psychologically ruined. Fan of Azula or not, I think that's what we all want.

I don't know, we all see that Azula gets super angry and thus looses the ability to control fire and Zuko knows the pure method of firebending.
In other words, role reversal! ;D

it was clear that during the zuko and sokka vs azula battle that azula had the slight edge. just because sokka gave zuko some time when he went in to stab azula. although by the next time they meet i'm sure that zuko will be better than azula or evenly matched at the least. he will win their next battle. if theres one.

there's nothing that tells us zuko has become better than azula. if anything, i think they want us to think azula's better than zuko. she was unrealistically monkey like in DOBS, and she fought well against zuko and sokka even with a locational disadvantage. and to the guy in the 2nd quote, getting angry only increases your firebending power. losing drive is what makes it go away. and we all know azula has plenty of drive.
Yes but when your angry you lose control (Zhao). That's why Azula wins, she's always in perfect control. But now that that's gone... [/QUOTE]

Don't forget that Zuko can now redirect lightning -a talent that only Iroh and he know. Also, remember that in "Bitter Work," Iroh said that Zuko could not shoot lightning because of his "inner turmoil." With Azula becoming unhinged and Zuko having made peace with his destiny, I'm betting that that tables are now turned. Zuko will be able to bend lightning and Azula will not. Everything that has happened before is working to give Zuko the advantage.

I to see Zuko coming out on top in their final confrontation, the cards are just lining up for it to happen. I'm also seeing Zuko being a little upset about doing it though. Like others have said, Zuko is really good at heart, and despite everything, Azula is still his sister.

What I'm wondering is if Azula might possibly feel something similar for Zuko, granted to an infinitely smaller degree, but still there. The reason this comes to mind is that scene in the Beach when Azula goes to find Zuko at their old summer home, there seems at least to be some genuine feeling behind her words, similar to how there seemed to be some genuine friendship with Ty Lee.
again, granted she glossed over all that with later comments and actions, but the feelings could still be there.

I most definitely don't see Azula redeming herself in any way during the series, but given enough time and a proper mentor I don't think its beyond her reach. (don't forget, Zuko was with Iroh for 3 years, and he was still pretty messed up until recently)

I love it when she confronts him in The Headband, when he and Mai are watching the sunset and kissing. "Actually, nothing. Believe it or not, I'm looking out for you. If people find out you've been to see Uncle, they'll think you're plotting with him. Just be careful dumb-dumb." Her voice is really filled with concern, much like a sister's would.

Edit: After watching that scene again, I saw something that I totally forgot about. When Azula has Mai leave, Mai shoots her a glare with the dramatic symbol clash as she does it. Could that have been foreshadowing to Mai's line in BR: 2? She seemed very displeased to be interrupted by Azula when she was with Zuko. It's a first indincation that Mai would rather be with Zuko than Azula in my opinion.

My fav. lines Suki: "Yeah, you kinda burned down my village."

Zuko: "Oh, sorry about that, uh, nice to see you again!"

There's a drabble about that, and it's quite good. And could you blame her? Her mother favored Zuko over her despite being a prodigy; her uncle favors Zuko; and now her friend? Maybe even both her friends? And who does Azula have? Daddy. XD

True. Plus, I think she knows her father would stab her in the back if given the chance

She'll go through a crisis; that's a given. But there's not enough information to say she's going to redeem herself or not.
