Nickelodeon (ended 2008)
Tell me about it. My little brother was wtching the show with me and when he saw that he didnt know what to think. Lately Nickelodeon hasnt been producing good shows but this show is incredible in plot, graphics, and emotions, perhaps the best animation show ive ever seen. Maybe even better than DragonBallZ.

this really shows some amazing talent on both the writers part and especially Grey Delise's voice talent. They made Azula out to be the villian with absolutly zero redeming qualities that you are meant to completely hate, and now the only thing most people feel for her is pity. I disagree that her mental condition was her own fault however. Her father teaches her that perfection, fear, and manipulation is the only way to get anywhere, but still her mother focuses on Zuko. According to her she is doing everything right but that still doesn't get her attention. Then she is maybe 8 when her mother leaves and is left being raised by Ozai the rest of her life. Follow that up with her only two friends in the world turning on her, and well, you see the result. I don't think her mental state is her own fault, and I do believe that insanity handicapped her during the fight. Moving on however to the question that hasn't been discussed yet...does anyone thing she can be rehibilitated or is she to far gone? |

I know right? She'd be all like," Okay, I need water but I can't find any.." And then mysteriously she'd find a drainage ditch or like a water fountain, or it'd start to rain magically and she'd use that... |

Azula is cool she just had a troubled childhood. I am sure that this question has been answered before...but why does Azula have blue fire???!?!?!?!! |

Now that we have seen Azula's mental breakdown and the deep seated trust and mother issues that plague her, what do you think might be her future? Would rehibilitation be possible, or is she to far gone? also, what are your opinions on Azula now after seeing her at her worst. And would you say her defeat at the end is legitimate or should instead be attributed to her mental state? |
What I have 2 say some people may not like, but its my opinion, the fate she suffered was too good for her I think she deserved to die.

You know, it was funny; when Azula broke her mirror I thought she was about to discover a Green Goblin Suit and Glider. |

Yeah, I'm starting to see a little pattern, like Zuko kinda wanted to be better than Azula, Azula just wanted the love Zuko was getting...it's ironic in a poetic sense... |

I'm just happy she didn't die, I really though they were going to finish her off. And I don't care if she's gone "coocoo" (although it is embarrasing), she still manage to hold her ground and win the Angni Kai (sp?) since Zuko was clearly done for. Azula remains my fav character ^^ ... after Momo of course. |

Was Azula really born lucky? I mean, she never got the love from Ursa like Zuko did. And she ended up having to grow up with her father believing that hatred, fear, power, and manipulation were the only ways to live. Like Toph said to Iroh during "The Chase," "Your Nephew is very lucky. Even if he doesn't know about it" (something like that). Zuko was lucky enough to be accompanied with Iroh during his banishment to help find his way, and to make him stronger. Azula, had support from no one. No one to help her go on the right track. In the end, Zuko finally gets a happy ending, while Azula loses her two best friends, and completely falls apart. Persnally, I think the best way to cure Azula, would be for Zuko to find Ursa, and to show Azula what it truly means to love. |
Absolutely amazing!!! Her breakdown was executed to perfection. You literally have to look to Shakespear to find another character so well crafted in hopelessness. It's the perfect balance. She can be blamed for everything she's ever done. There is no escaping the guilt and responsibility of her actions, but at the very same time, she couldn't have turned out any other way. Completely abandoned by any saving grace, she had no one in the world to save her.
But the best, the very best part of her character is that deep, deep down, some small hidden part of her, the last shred of humanity left in her was able to take down the monster she became. That is awesome. If she was truely like Ozai, evil to the core, she'd have never broken. Her breadown wasn't really caused by having too much power, or the fear of being betrayed (although those were the triggers for her breakdown). Her breackdown is the realization that she needs to be loved. In the scene when to she talks to her mother, she realizes this, but she immediatley equates that to weakness. The truth hits her that she really isn't a completely emotionless monster like her father, she's no longer perfect, and she is not capable of ignoring that anymore. She also realizes that she's spent her life killing that part of herself to become the moster she thinks she is suppose to be .
If Ursa is alive, she might have a chance. Zuko still loves his sister, he might be trying to find her to help. Ursa might even come out of hiding and find them now that Ozai is gone. I was so sure that I wanted Azula to die. I thought that would be the only way to adequately end her story, but now... I can't believe I actually want her to turn good. Ack! I actually said that. Man, this episode really got to me.
Oh, and I realize my SN may come across outdated now, but even batsh!t crazy Azula still owns.

What the heck are you talking about, i wanted to see Azula die, not live. I'm not sad for her at all. I think she deserved it, even more than that. |

I agree. Ozai wanted to raise a machine out of both Zuko and Azula. Luckily Zuko didn't respond as well as Azula did and Aang restored balance. However, they didn't even show what happened to her and that's messed up!
