The trailer was okay, I'm not too crazy about it since it was only about 30 seconds. But I did like what I did see, except for the bending movements. Like someone else said, they looked pretty cheesy.

Judging by the trailer it looks like it'll be a pretty good film, I hope they don't skip over Jet though.

As a wise soothsayer once said, "At least the special effects [will be] decent." ILM never disappoints. Those soldiers falling over the cliff were a nice touch.

Though I could have done without the arm waving for the airball. That was a bit laughable, which brings me to my #1 concern for this movie: will the bending moves look cool or terrible? Sure it looks great in a cartoon, but live-action?...

But if a group of real grown men can somehow manage to sound badass pulling off the slogan, "Yo, Joe!" while wearing tight spandex suits, I'll be slightly less skeptic for TLA...and that's a big 'if'.

What you gotta remember that aside from Firebending and sometimes Airbending (when it directly comes from their bending), all bending is a shadow boxing. Character's are punching and kicking nothing but air(and in one case the air moves for them). If you focus on the people, it might look pretty silly.

It does depend on where you're looking, I agree, but I'm the kind of guy that likes to 'look at the whole picture.' But I'm not too picky.

On a sidenote, this little article has some interesting news. The reporter explains how the crew is handling Appa and mentions that the Spirit Oasis is located inside an ice cave and even claims they walked through the Northern Air Temple set.

It's possible the reporter was absent-minded (as evidenced by some poor grammar) or had a brain fart when writing that and mistakenly put "Northern" instead of "Southern," but if not, then we could be seeing the inventing father & son duet in this movie, as well as a war balloon.

This is just a thought, but wouldn't it be cool for the movie to begin with Aang running away from Gyatso and geting caught in the storm? Like, it shows Aang writing a note to Gyatso is the very beginning and as he's running away the credits start to play like the actors names and stuff with him getting caught in the storm in the background. Then when the opening credits are done it goes to Katara and Sokka. I just think that's a cool idea, don't you?

Wow i saw the avatar trailer today!!! It actually looked good and i'm excited now! I was really surprised to see it too! When it first came on i was thinking it was avatar but i wasn't sure but it was! It was really cool! Although I'm not quite sure what was up with his arrow, i think it was a bunch of little tattoos! But they made it work! It should be a good movie!

that's brilliant. it reminds me of bourne identitys hazy flashbacks. it can't be to detailed tho. it can't reveal that hes the avatar. its still got to be a mystery for the people who haven't watched the show.

yeah thats what i meant, like it doesnt reveal anything at all, and it makes people who never saw the show want to stay and watch more

It was probably just for that scene, I mean with his surroundings and everything the whole mood was kind of intense. If you know what I mean, that prolly doesn't make sense.

Or maybe it could begin with Nicola Peltz narrating the opening theme from the 1st episode

Interesting to note - Fire Nation is shown attacking WHILST Aang is still there!

    +

"some say he is the chosen one"

Now how are we to take this? 1st) COuld they be dropping 100 yrs in iceberg and have genocide happen whilst Aang is escaping, only partly happen OR EVEN REMOVE IT ENTIRELY!? now i know this is radical idea, im VERY probably wrong (and hoping so). Personally i havent been following Avatar news much since show ended months ago. PLEASE correct me

Alternative, and more likely (and i think true), they are going to make it that Aang left because fire nation attacked rather than deal with fact he acted "cowardly" (thou he is 12) and ran away. Aang would then get frozen and Katara finds him after 100 yrs

2nd) "SOME" say he is the "Chosen One". I know when i heard it i thought - wait they arent sure (what bout toys)? (chosen one, are they going messiah on us? this IS M Night afta all)? This would fit with above speculation that they are skipping 100 yrs by having it be Aang escapes temple whilst FN attacks, Zuko follows him to South Pole. Zuko confronts Aang and leads Aang questioning wether he is the Avatar, going to north pole for training. OR, more likely again, he escapes 100 yrs ago b4 he found out

(had phone call, so posting allloooot later)

LOL okay above comment was made having seen teaser once and days ago (also ive been at work fro 10.5 hours so im dead tired )

Fixing one - they do say Myth and (i cannot believe i forgot this!!!) he is last of his kind (first line), so they are going have genocide off cam, and most likely have 100 yr in ice berg etc (tired geek mind had mental freak when typing above lol)

Also teaser could have NOOOOOO relevance to whats in the movie; put together entirely as set up to state core story concept.

BUT i do think possible that above statement bout removing running away is likely, especially as they are trying to cut down time. I imagine prob take place as opener with Attack, Aang running and the getting frozen with title spequence possibly statring from there (frozen Aaang in water and/or montange of war) leading to Katara and Sokka in boat (resolving Aang story from The Storm)

Whilst I was viewing the trailer, I assumed that the footage was from the FN attack on the Northern Air Temple. I think that is the likeliest explanation.

*edit* I am referring to the attack that occurred during episode 1-17, "The Northern Air Temple."

The effects in the trailer look better than I thought. The only thing I didn't like about the trailer is the guy talking in the beginning... it was pretty corny and makes it more childish than it should be.

Watching paint dry is more entertaining than the Dragonball Z movie.

That is indeed a possibility. Although that means that they've changed the Northern Temple in the story, as it is now a island in the sea which boats can attack, and possible connects to MarryLarry article about them Mentioning NT with avatar statues rather than SOuth. ITS VERY POSSIBLE they are cutting time by having it that Aang came from the North and that where they head after incident with Zuko in the antartic.
