Watchmen is a perfect example, but it managed to win most fans over by the end. And if you think Avatar fantards are bad, try digging up some old Watchmen boards from when the movie was first announced back in '05.

    Yeah I noticed that a lot around here, so many problems and situations here with actors being different races for the movie and not white.

    ... All I can say is, its a shame that this movie looks like its going to have some problems that may cause tensions here what with all the different races and okay I'm confused right now and I don't want to say anything more cos I'm scared to get flamed here.

    Well I'm definitely not saying the races are bad, I just want to see what this live-action movie is gonna be like. I am still excited for it and can't wait to see all the different actors! I just hope they all choose some good actors 7-10 to 10/10 quality and good for the movie.

    ^^ The actors are pretty much novices (the big four). Even Dev, who has only done one movie. I hope nothing but the best for these guys. I'm actually curious to see Night's interpretation of it, an hopefully it doesn't flop because I really want to see Sozin's Comet brought to the big screen.

    The DragonBall fans are having the same problem with the new movie with Goku being white. Trust me when I say that the criticism Avatar is getting is nothing new in the never ending battle between Hollywood and fantards. Shame most of the neighsayers don't realize that if the DragonBall movie does well, they could get sequels. The Sayan Arc perhaps?

    Vegeta vs. Goku + bigscreen + special effects - repetitive dialogue - 5 episodes of powering up = Win.

    Me too. OMG, I bet the finale would be great in live action on the big screen...unless this movie turns out to be disappointing and not very good at all.

    I didn't mind Goku being white because in the anime Goku is an alien, the thing i did have a problem with was that he had really short hair.

    Avatar, on the other hand, i deeply rooted in Asian cultures and Inuit cultures, and having a predominantly white cast is blatantly racist and ignorant from hollywood freaks because it doesn't adhere to a large aspect of the series, it is based on and influenced by anime and asian/inuit cultures, and because of that i want to strangle every writer, casting director and M. Night for being such racist pigs.

    they have way worse casting issues than ours DX. they prettymuch just took the name of db and pasted it on that awful movie.

    M. Night is a great director. His ideas are horrible though. Avatar is not his idea. Avatar is a great idea. great idea + great director + large budget + great actors = good movie

    His movie The Sixth Sense was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture.

    Any actor who has done an Oscar winning best picture (such as Dev Patel in Slumdog Millionaire) could make it into a great movie.

    eh..... the sixth sense sucked... to me.... It wasnt that great of a movie i dont understand why people think it is so great..... i havent watch slumdog millionair so i dont know abut that......

    i read the plot and it doesnt seems intresting so i dont know if sdm is that great or not.... Also just because a movie wins awards doesnt mean its a good movie...... There are allot of turds that people thought it was a great movie...
