I'd say well past 2017. Sure it's declined slightly in quality but it's still such a fantastic programme and I love it.

I hope 2019, 20 years. Spongebob may be Nick's version of the Simpsons, but it is no Simpsons. Even after Spongebob is cancled, it likely will continue in the form of comics. And comics are forever (just look as Batman, Spiderman, Dennis the Menace) Although IDK how they'll get comics out, esp after NICK mag been cancled (WHY NICK WHY!?!?!?!)

It was a great phenomenon even in its third season!! Then it started to die out after the movie. Adults and teenagers started to turn away. Now the only thing keeping it alive are the children who get amused by the dumbest things. And season 6 was probably the worst and most disgusting season ever. Season 7 is just overrated since it's just so boring. And I just hate the fact that the new episodes have meaningless stories and stories you just can't relate to. I mean who could relate to the Two Faces of Squidward. People could relate to a lot of the older episodes

guys we all know that all nickolodeon shows were good until nickolodeon orlando studios in 2005. i say the best years of spongebob were 2001-2005, even though i like the new ones, it's not the same humor you get. nick should really go back to their old ways and they should be doing it within 2 years, hopefully before then. they will definately not bring back any old show that isn't running now, except danny phantom. i wish to commerate our favorite shows. Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, Jimmy Neutron, Invader ZIM, My Life As A Teenage Robot, Chalkzone, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Rocket Power, Danny Phantom, All Grown Up, Aaaah Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, Kablam!, Oh Yeah Cartoons, Avatar, The Wild Thornberries, Catscratch, Ren & Stimpy. and maybe there are a couple other cartoons i may be forgetting, nothing past 2007. no Tuff Puppy, Planet Sheen, Robot & Monster, Fanboy & Chumchum, Back At The Barnyard, Mighty B. The Legend Of Korra is the only big hit. i know this thread is really old, but whatever.
I'd say it shall stay forever! Without Spongebob things won't feel the same anymore! Spongebob is my favorite show and it shall never end! Even if it changed a little after the movie! I agree it is stupid Steven Hillenburg left after the movie. I mean no creator has ever left their own show before. But I'm don't mind if the creator leaves Spongebob, I just want it to stay on the air forever! Even if some of the crew isn't around anymore find some new people to work on it. Ernest Borgnine died in July, now they're gonna find someone new to play Mermaid Man. Instead of canceling this show or no longer making Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episodes.

Probably 2017 because Season 10 is confirmed to have like 40 episodes, so it migfht take take that up until 2017. Besides, I think 10 seasons might be enough for Spongebob. And besides, I don't think it can even live up to Family Guy's length: 12 seasons aired already.

Well, before season 7, I probably would've wanted the show to end sooner, but they've made a remarkable comeback in the recent episodes. Also, with Nickelodeon still keeping the whole franchise as alive as it's been in the past, I think the show will make it to at least 2015.
