Good to see I finally have a popular opinion.
Top 6: Christmas Who?
Why?: Definitely anenjoyable holiday episode. It has one of the best SpongeBob songs, and some of the funniest moments.
Bottom 6: Squeaky Boots
Why?: One of the Season 1 rejects. It was just sort of creepy, and not funny at all. Just... weird. I don't know how this met Season 1's standards.
I agree, I love the Christmas episode and as for squeaky boots, I used to like it when the episode first aired but grew to not like the episode that much and it wasn't really that funny, but the christmas episode is hilarious. Patrick: "like a Genie!"
Okay, now we're getting into my very favourite and least favourite episodes, possibly starting with number 6.
Top 5: Dying For Pie
Why?: THE best SpongeBob/Squidward episode of all time. It was absolutely hilarious throughout, and Squidward and SpongeBob watching the sunset together remains one of the most heartwarming scenes ever in SpongeBob SquarePants. Then after that comes a SpongeBob/Squidward exchange that is absolutely hysterical! There are so many good lines:
"Squidward, we already played 'Babble Like an Idiot'!"
SpongeBob (looking at his best friends book): "Should be able to finish by January."
Squidward: "FORGET THE BOOK!"
And of course...
SpongeBob (after Squidward tells him he's supposed to explode): "GARY! YOU ARE GONNA FINISH YOUR DESSERT, AND YOU ARE GONNA LIKE IT! Okay, your turn."
Squidward: "THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT, YOU BARNACLE-HEAD!"
SpongeBob: "Ooh! Good one."
I can't fathom why anyone would dislike this episode.
Bottom 5: Reef Blowers
Why?: Possibly the strangest idea for an episode the series has ever had. It was just pointless. I don't know why they stuck this between Help Wanted and Tea At The Treedome. The only reason it's not lower on the list is because it's not OFFENSIVELY horrible, like my Wall of Shame, or Bottom 4. Coming soon to a message board near you!
Top 4: Wishing You Well
Why?: Everything worked in this episode. The song is the best post-classic song, there was lots of humour, and everybody was in character! It was one of the true breaths of fresh air in Season 4.
Bottom 4: The Krusty Sponge
Why?: This episode suffers from okay concept, terrible execution. Mr. Krabs obsessing over SpongeBob like he did in this episode might not have been that bad of a plot. But no, they just HAD to ruin it with gross-out humour, like the customers becoming sick from the tainted sponge patties. THE perfect example of what was wrong with Season 5. Oh yeah, and there was also unnecessary Squidward abuse at the end.
So I guess i'm not the only one that loved the episodeWishing You Well.

Wishing You Well is a very underrated episode. I wouldn't rank it that high up, but it is defintely really good. The Krusty Sponge was just a meh episode for me. I didn't really hate it but there are a ton of episodes that I'd rather watch. |
All right, Top (and Bottom) 3:
Top 3: Krusty Towers
Why?: Once again, a Season 4 episode where everything went right, only better. It was definitely funny, it had perfect characterization, and the plot was terrific! I can't think of one bad thing to say about this episode.
Bottom 3: Rule of Dumb
Why?: This episode was just doomed from when Patrick started taking stuff. Patrick was horribly out of character, and SpongeBob was too until he realized that what Patrick was doing was wrong. It hosts Patrick's most cringe-worthy line as well: "Now you can spend the rest of your life crying about it!" Whoever came up with thischaracterization is a complete and utter jackass, nothing more. This role was much more suited for, say, Mr. Krabs.
I loved Krusty Towers, it was my favorite season 4 episode.
