The latter of which should be more entertaining to write.

    Top 25: Shanghaied

Highlights: Lots of funny moments, such as "Will we be getting business cards?" I also dig the episode having three alternate endings. It's quite an original one.

Lowlights: Squidward got burned a little too often.

Bottom 25: The Original Fry Cook

Highlights: Well, there aren't many, actually. It was watchable. Does that count? Well, the flashback was interesting, I guess...

Lowlights: This episode was too mean to SpongeBob. Also, Jim was a big, fat jerk.

I don't really get why people like the "Shanghaied" episode so much. The only scene I found funny was the perfume department scene.

    Top 24: Something Smells

Highlights: Just off the top of my head, I can think of 3:

    1. Patrick's "Ugly Barnacle" story. Possibly one of my favourite jokes the series has ever had.
    2. "I'M UGLY AND I'M PROUD!"
    3. "Guess what, Squidward? WE STINK!"
    4. (just because I thought of another one): "What will my sister think?... Wait, I don't have a sister..."

    Full of LOLs.

Lowlights: The people running away from SpongeBob got real old. C'mon now, the combination of peanuts, ketchup, soil, and onions can't smell that foul. Can it? Still, this one part didn't ruin it from being an excellent episode.

Bottom 24: Night Light (sorry guys, prepare for a lot of Season 5 slaughter in this part)

Highlights: Well, it wasn't terrible, like some upcoming episodes on this list are.

Lowlights: MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy being shoved into this episode was rather pointless. Also, this episode didn't generate too many laughs.

    Top 23: MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy

Highlights: Being the first in a recurring theme, this episode scores some points from me. I love a lot of the jokes, and this episode introduced my favourite secondary character: MermaidMan.

Lowlights: There aren't many, really. The colouring was a little grainy, but I can't hold that against the episode.

    Bottom 23: Nasty Patty

Yes, it's that episode I keep on raving and ranting about. Quite possibly the only Season 3 ep you'll see on this list, just fyi.

Highlights: Well, the only funny moment I can recall is the end when the narrator says, "Yes, they are all idiots, aren't they?" I guess that counts.

Lowlights: Firstly, it's a subpar episode coming from an excellent season. Why is it subpar? Simply because I don't believe there was that much to laugh at, and some humour seemed juvenile. Example: "OOPS I DROPPED IT IN THE TOILET LOLZ"

I LOVE Nasty Patty! I agree with you about the Original Fry Cook though. I hate that episode as much as I hate that jerk Jim.

Top 22. MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy II (all right, this is the last MM & BB episode, I swear).

Highlights: It was even funnier than the first MM & BB, for starters. I also love the Jingle Bells variation, and SpongeBob searching for the MM & BB theme song in the jukebox.

Lowlights: Slightly too much BarnacleBoy abuse for my liking.

    Bottom 22: Wigstruck

Highlights: Watchable. That's about the only thing I can think of.

Lowlights: It got annoying when SpongeBob became overly naive (cocky?) regarding his ridiculous wig.

^Well, keep it to yourself, in case you're right.

    Top 21: Krabs vs. Plankton

Highlights: This was a pretty interesting plot, and there was a lot to laugh at as well. For example, Plankton's "poor gram-gram", SpongeBob interrogating the mop, and Squidward as a witness!

Lowlights:Well, I was kind of on Plankton's side here - c'mon, not having a wet floor sign is just... bad. I don't know if that counts as a lowlight, but I'm short on ideas.

    Bottom 21: Karate Island

Highlights: Well, I have to cut this episode some slack, because I think the reason most people hate it is because "BAWWW IT DID NOT DESERVE NUMBER ONE SPOT IN COUNTDOWN HATRED", and that's just plain ridiculous. Anyway, Sandy fighting the villains was cool, and Squidward at the end was funny.

Lowlights: Well, other than Squidward, this episode was not so funny. Actually, it was kind of boring, and SpongeBob was too annoying in this ep.

Yeah, I hate Karate Island because it's boring, not because it was rated number one on the countdown.

    That's why I said "most".

    Top 20: Jellyfish Hunter

Highlights: I find this one to be quite an underrated episode, in the sense that nobody really talks about it here. I say it's a hidden gem, with plenty of jokes and an interesting plot. I still remember Mr. Krabs listening to that exercise music while on his bicycle. xD

Lowlights: Well, it doesn't really stand out to many people. But it stands out to me.

    Bottom 20: Rise and Shine

Highlights: Well, it had some laughs, albeit cheap ones.

Lowlights: It was just a pointless episode, whose idea was it to make these shorter episodes anyway? Honestly.

    Top 19: Walking Small

Highlights: It was just a very funny episode and underrated, IMO. The SpongeBob/Plankton moments are priceless, especially "Tell that guy to take a hike!" "You wanna take a hike with me?"

Lowlights: Some of the fish were being absolute jerks to SpongeBob, and it kind of irked me a bit.

    Bottom 19: Dunces and Dragons

Highlights: Squidly, The Royal Fool. He singlehandedly kept this episode from being abysmal.

Lowlights: Whining Pearl, unfunny jokes, and Patrick didn't really seem like Patrick. He wasn't dumb enough in this ep, IMO. Also, Medieval Sandy was just strange.

But I think the biggest reason I have it in for this episode is a friend and I were creating SpongeBob episodes of our own, and we included one where SpongeBob and Patrick go back in Medieval Times. Then I saw it on TV and was expecting laughs, just like we had. But it wasn't as funny as what we imagined, at all.

Um, I actually thought the Medieval Pearl was a bit less griping than the modern Pearl and what about the "bowling alley" gag? I thought that was amusingTongue out
