which will happen (zutara or kataraang?)

    I disagree with that, I am almost certain that the creators couldn't care less about people getting pissed off because there ship didn't set sail. They know they can't please everyone, they wouldn't be good creators if they tried too.

    This is their show, not the fandoms. They're going to do it the way they want to, and if we don't like...oh well, kick rocks

    I watch other shows in Anime besides Avatar, like Inuyasha.?? Personally, there are pairings I don't like (ex: Inuyasha: Kagome/Inuyasha) and pairings I do like (ex: Bleach: Ichigo/Rukia).?? Just because we are not going to get the pairings we want doesn't mean people should commit riots.?? Avatar is a entertaining show we will enjoy, but we have our own lives that are important to worry about also.?? If Kataang happens, whoopie for me and others.?? If Zutura happens, then it happens and I'm cool with it.

    if you have a short attention span heres the short version:

    kataang: aang young and immature. avatar prevents him from loving anyone. kataras feelings unknown.

    zutara: interesting storyline. age difference good.not immature.

    all in all, zutara seems more logical in a realworld sorta standpoint

    being the Avatar does not make Aang unable to be loved or to be loved, no one ever said that. Also Aang has mature a lot since??the first season. U can even make the argument(and win it) that he's far maturer than Zuko. Being a whiny angsty teenager does not make u mature i might add(yeah i'm talkin' bout Zuko).

    Also how in the heck do u know that Zutara would make a interesting storyline, when we haven't seen a hint of it? For all we know, it could be as boring as watching paint dry. Also like i said before, Zuko's no more maturer than Aang.

    and it funny u should say that Zutara would be more "logical in a real world standpoint". I got a question, How many of you Zuko fangirls, would actually go with a boy with a huge hideous scar on his face,and with a personality of that of a tree stump? Anyone? That's what i thought.
    I would date him! "he has a huge scar..." that sounded too superficial, I love his personality, he was mean with Jin and Song because he had more important things in mind... he has a beautifull smile, is quite handsome, is not a clown like Sokka and Aang, some girls like me, like serious guys, and he is not a sexist guy like Sokka. And he necer gives up, he has a strong will, I love that. And Zuko is not inmature at all! He just has suffered a lot

    good point, actually. the creators are well aware of the crazy shippers and fangirls/fanboys out there, but i seriously doubt they'd base their writing on it. after all, we ]obsessed people who join message boards to talk and argue about the show] don't make up the mass of their fanbase, and they'd have to be crazy to base such a popular show on the whims of the lunatic fringe.

    but regardles of personal opinions about the characters' personalities and who you think is "mature", there's no denying that a relationship between an 16 year old guy and a 14 year old girl is FAR more likely than one between a 14 year old girl and a 12 year old boy in the real world.

    You see, I never understood this attitude. You say nothing in Avatar is obvious? Well, I'm going to claim the exact opposite: everything is abundantly obvious. Seriously, just because some shippers confuse their personal wishes with the canon storyline doesn't make the series unpredictable, it just proves how misguided the fandom is. If you try to think about it objectively and only take the evidence and hints directly given to you by the show, you'll see that Avatar isn't all that unpredictable at all.

    Everything, every point they writers try to get across, is abundantly foreshadowed, illustrated and directly refered to throughout the series. Whenever they try to tell you something, they do it unambiguously. And this is especially true when it comes to romance, since nothing that has happened on the field of romance has surprised me so far.

    Just try to think of one romantic moment that hasn't been obvious. The fully canon romances so far have been Yue/Sokka, Suki/Sokka and Zuko/Jin, and all of them were direct and clear, nothing weird or unpredictable about them. The same counts with the OTP of the show, which is obviously Katara/Aang. This ship has been obvious since day one, which makes it likely to happen. They've been building on that relationship for two seasons now, after the season finale it's even become an integral part of the main storyline, and I see no reason why they would just flip it around in season three to pair up Zuko and Katara, two people who obviously don't want/like each other and who've barely spend ten minutes of screentime together throughout the entire series so far. They're not going to do it because it's unexpected or unpredictable, because they just don't write their story that way. If Zuko is going to have a romantic relationship at all (something I sincerely doubt), it will probably be with Mai, because unlike Katara, Mai has actually shown signs of affection for Zuko.

    When I said that you never know what will happen... I wasn't talking about shipping, I was talking about the main plot, I never thougt Zuko and Azula will be able to kick Aang's ass since he has mastered 3 elements, I never thought that Ba sing se would fall, I never believed Jet would die... I never been able to imagine Katara saying to Zuko "sorry"

    And that about Mai liking Zuko.... maybe it was just a period... we don't know whether she still likes him... maybe that smile was just nostalgic, and that Mai had a crush on him doesn't mean that Zuko feels the same for her.

    I agree some people can't relate to a 14 year old girl dating a 12 year old guy, but I totally agree with Anime-Destiny1 and argos_87. What I think is really funny, is that people can't wrap their heads around that relationship, but it's perfectly dandy that a 12 year old is running around the world taking care of himself and fighting in a war. Can kids today relate to that? Or...is it just a concept we're used to seeing and are comfortable with, while a 12 and 14 year old hasn't really been done before so it's still weird? By the way, this is one of the most intelligent and respectful debates, you guys are awesome. I don't care if the thread's a duplicate.

    About the 12 year old saving the world thing, ya. That's not creepy. It's explained better since he's the avatar, has ungodly powers, etc. That's the whole point of the show. Now on that note, maybe if they showed how aang is more mature than a normal 12 year old it wouldn't be so weird. As is though, when it comes to maturity he's like a normal 12 year old, when it comes to saving the world he's like superman.

    True dat. And I would hope we are all mature about it when what happens finally happens. No "in your face " threads. one thing we can all agree on is this show kicks ass.

    I'm not a Zutura fan,??but the one moment I??thought it could happen was the cave scene??when they discuss about a part of their family.?? Love can happen for two people if they suffer pains of their past.?? Other than that, I don't see much of Zutura happening since they don't know each other much.

    Eh. I don't have any evadenest, sorry.

    Now seriously, we explained it many times before. We don't have evidence. Okay, so we could maybe gather up something on Zuko--->Katara, but not the other way around. Anyway. Zutara isn't based on evidence - it's based on what its fandom likes to see on a show, and in the real life. I think that's what gotten me addicted to it in the first place. It just can't feel fake and forced, unlike many canon - or supposed to be canon - ships.

    Anyway, AnimeDestiny, you like IchiRuki! *writes down another friend* I think that's my favorite anime ship, period.

    You know what i loved about the finale, it was the way they got Katara and Zuko down together in that cave and they all got comfortable with each other, bit of touchy feely then the writers decide to rip the heart out??of Zutara and spit on it, ??made me so happy Zutara was destroyed for ever but so sad that Zuko had to betray Iroh, oh well 1 for 1.??

    I think the creators did that on purpose, lured people into thinking that Zutara had a chance with that trailer, then just completely shot them down in the end

    To me, that was??they way of saying: "Now do you understand? We are not going to have a Zuko and Katara romance in the show"
