Agreed, they tried to add too much depth to an cartoon martial arts-ish action show, I wanted her to get there and have the dude be like super strong and have this huge fight, oh well

Yea this episode was a little rushed but it was still pretty good. The Zuko/Azula fight was pretty good and it was cool seeing Katara bend rain. Zuko should've probably should've acknowleged Katara's bloodbending though. When she did that I was expecting Zuko to start freaking out or asking her HTF was she doing that. I knew Katara wasn't going to kill her mother's murderer but she should've at least beat him up a little. I give this episode a 7/10. Also, Im a little dissapointed tht EIP is the last episode before the finale unless it actually contributes something to the story.

Bloodbending!? I just thought she was manipulating the water in his body. Which is stupid, there givin these guys to much powers, i mean when Azula made lightning it was like "ok, thats understandable", when metal bending happened, "ok, but i hope they dont get carried away with this", then when she did the "bloodbending", "no, not ok, why doesnt she just do that to every fire nation dude when she gets to there fortress of doom or whatever its called, seriously, and Azula's turbo jets that sounded like a hot air balloon, i mean seriously people...

Tht would suck, but Katara can only bloodbend durring the full moon and since that only comes onece a month I doubt we'll be seeing anymore bloodbending

Well to answer your question, Sokka and Katara do have the same mother Sokka's just more level headed than Katara and has excepted his mother's death. I'm pretty sure he wanted to go with Katara and Zuko but he needs to keep his mind on more important things at the moment(Like helping Aang save the world). If he was face to face with Kya's murderer than Im sure he'd react the same way Katara did but lright now, Sokka needs to worry about protecting what he has now(Suki, his dad, Katara) instead of spending his entire life trying to avenge someone he doesn't have anymore.

    no

    4. was there violence for the sake of violence

    no

    5. was there martial arts action

    yes

For me this episode earns a 3/5. This wasn't nearly as actiony and adventure like as other episodes, didn't really care for it as much. can't wait to see Ozai in action!

Umm...no offense, but if you don't like "deep thinking moments" and just like random violence for the sake of violence, I don't really recommend this show for you. It sorta goes beyond the typical "let's save the world and destroy everything" kind of show.

You really don't get it. Life had already destroyed him. He was pathetic. He had nothing. There's nothing she could have done that his life couldnt have done better.

Umm... I'm getting the feeling you're a bit new to this show. I digress. Anyway, if a waterbender is skilled enough to control the water in someone's body, they can only perform "bloodbending" during a full moon when their powers are at their peak.

Great episode. I was hoping for some more waterbending action, but it was still good.

    I give it a 8.7/10

the bloodbending was my favorite part. I mean back in the puppetmaster, Katara was scared and ashamed that she was a bloodbender. And then this moment comes and she doesnt even hesitate using it. She realized that when she used it how scary she was, using it to manipulate an innocent man, and how violence wasn't the answer to solve her problems. I thought it was epic that she didn't end up killing her mother's killer also. Have some people not heard Aang's side to all of this? He was right...

Sucks for me because I was on this site during the Bloodbending part and I missed it. What exactly did she do when she Bloodbended?

I personally loved the episode. I thought it was one of the best in the season, but I stress -one- of the best. The concept was well presented and such, but if it weren??t for how rushed it was, I probably would be more accepting.

And, even as a Zutarian, this wasn??t an all packed up Zutara episode as some fans hoped it to be. Sure, I didn??t really expect hardcore Zutara to be in existance (even if the EIP previews show some signs), but this was a strong Katara episode with awesome Zuko on the side and at the beginning. Yay for Kazuko, although I wanted a one-on-one talk with him and Katara about redemption and forgiveness for the hug to have more meaning with it.

Overall, ??Zuko Alone?? is still my favorite flashback episode. I kinda liked how TSR had the situation from different points of view, but it was scrambled and not very keen to Katara and Kya??s relationship. I??m guessing her mother does care for her very much and they did have a tight bond for her to spare her own life (and yet, this somehow seems to be a playback of what we thought Ursa did before we found out she was banished instead- I think the sacrifice plot would be better played for her, just to make Zuko??s life more miserable XD).

Speaking of Kya, my friend and I were and are spazzing about how one of the names on our list (yes, we made a list) was actually right. Pretty crafty to use Katara??s original alias. It??s an unexpected expected thing (there??s your oximorone for the day).

George was revealed beautifully and amusingly. And this is a Nickelodeon show? You know what Sokka was thinking that whole time. But, I loved how Zuko stayed inside, and later outside. The question is, what was he planning to borrow Momo for? Hmm... Azula might have only had one line, but that was the most epic I??ve seen her. I love her newfound crazed attitude, although it could only bring her to her destruction. I think she looks more evil with her hair down. But, I??m still curious to know how her hair gets all cut-up and messed up later. "You mean it??s not obvious, yet? I??m about to celebrate becoming an only child!"

"Guru goody goody." XD I dunno, I found that funny.

In all, an 8.9/10 rating (yes, I have crazy rating skills, just make it a 9). This is actually a nicer rating than what I first came up with. Heartbreaking, yes. But, I??ve been tearbending more in other episodes. Cannot wait for tonight. And I refuse to watch the finale until I get back home in Chicago (I watched this episode online, that??s how impatiant I am), so cannot wait until the 24th for me.

Episode was pretty good. I'd rank it up there with the best of 'em furreal. The juxtaposition of epic lulz and tear-jerking moments made for a phemonenal episode. How many other shows can make an episode where you're ROFL then almost crying about 3 scenes later?

The episode seemed to have the idea that 'this episode is lacking in action, so let's stick a huge fight at the beginning to satiate people'. Still, it kinda worked, although it did mean that by the end you're feeling 'that's it? Where's the fight? Oh yeah, it happened in the first scene'.

Still, all in all, good episode. Oh, and did anyone else pick up on Jesus!Aang preaching forgiveness and stuff? That made me lol.

^^^ Yeah, that type of thought occurred to me. It was more like an angel/devil on your shoulder thing with Aang and Zuko the way they were going back and forth about what Katara should do.

I thought the forgiveness preach was a great setup for Zuko's comment about Ozai. The look Aang had at the end of the episode was foreshadowing at its brightest.

Remember when the all the ice was pointed at the man? He must have had some wet undies. xD
