*ahem* Zuko's uncle. And I really don't know. It's sad how he just disappeared...Iroh is so cool.

Lmao. I was very confused. Iroh, Zuko's uncle, will hopefully be making another appearance on the show. In fact, I'd bet money on it.

He has to. He couldn't have gotten all buffed up for nothing.

If he doesn't, I think I'll have a heart attack. Iroh is EVERYONE'S favourite, ahahaha. How could he NOT show up?!

Worst case scenario, he'll only show up in the end in order to crown Zuko as the new Firelord. XP

I think he's gonna show up sometime before the end. We still have to find out about the Order of the White Lotus.

I and my friends have come to the conclusion that this episode was extremely rushed. It was fast paced (the beginning was great even if the fight came quickly) but then it immediately jumped to a new plot line... Something totally different. Zuko and Katara's "field trip" though action packed and fast still felt rushed. I'll organize my thoughts once my new episode frenzy rush wears down a bit.

The creators said it'd be intense and a "tear-jerke". If the flashbacks were handled better and we saw more of the significance of Katara's relationship with her mother, then it would've induced a bit more tearbending. I had highish expectations for this episode based on what I heard/read from the creators. Moar tomorrow.

I'd give it a 7/10 rating. The pacing really killed it for me. The flashbacks also weren't what they could've been and I'm basing them off of Zuko Alone and other minor flashbacks or memories. I liked it though but I won't find myself watching this episode for the sake of being entertained. Rather, watching certain scenes (Zuko-Azula fight for example) and dialogue (the Air Nomad wisdom for example).

As long as you could find something in it to keep you riveted at least for part of it, then this episode has succeeded. That is the nature of avatar; there is something in there for everyone. And sure, for us crazy Azula fans (I presume from your icon that you are one) there was no way that the rest of the episode would capture our interest as its wild start did. But in the end, all this doesn't matter. what matters is that:

    THE AVATAR IS BACK!!!

And he is back with a vengeance.

Yeah, yeah. Avatar is teh backzorz. :p But such an important part of Katara's character was just... well, rushed. It seemed like the loose end of Kya's death (woot! we can use her actual name now) was tied up rather than actually dealt with fully.

Yeah, that episode was very rushed. I kept looking at the clock and wondering how the heck they were going to fit all this stuff in there.

Don't get me wrong, it was a good episode, but...yeah, Zuko Alone type flashbacks woulda been better.

I liked both those episodes... >_>

And c'mon, EIP is going to be hilarious. Even if it exists solely for the lulz, it will be epic, and I will be satisfied.

Actually, you are quite right about this episode being rushed. I felt like it was over in five minutes flat. But the fact it is, it felt rushed, because it was rushed. There is only one episode left until the finale, and it will presumably have some important stuff in it. TSR could easily have been stretched out into a two episode movie, but still, it did pretty well with what it had to work with. It managed to pack the Azula/Zuko fight, the flashbacks, the ninja mission, and great humor and an artful ending all into one 23 minute episode. That's pretty impressive.

Though that is true, it didn't turn out all that well. But I will say this: the morals and lessons this episode taught us made it worth it. I feel that was the true purpose and importance of The Southern Raiders (other than drawing closure for the Katara-Mother stuff).

Think how big it will be with 2 hrs

BR felt long for the 1st 30 min

BR was only 42 min, if you count commercials, an hour.

    I kno

it felt longer than tsr but the epi was great

Too much info for one episode but I love Sokka/Zuko scene it made it all worthwhile.

Another thing, is Toph EVER going to metal bend again?!?! It seemed kinda pointless how she was able to and only did a handful of times...

I just found an interview of the show's creators talking about this episode!!!

Its really interesting to see how they feel about it

They also give you some hints about upcoming eps!!

*Don't worry, no spoilers are given away about future episodes, just TSR.

Thats weird how it would block it...
Well not to waste it for anyone who wants to watch the interview but they talked really in depth about what it was like to make the episode, their original ideas, and everything that they hoped to tell you through this episode.
