Azulon even despite being older is more powerful than Ursa, but the strain of the battle is too much for Azulon's aging heart. But,(this is key to my whole theory) Agni Kai's are by law non-lethal events. If the other combatant is killed in battle by the other(directly or indirectly in this case) the "winner" is banished.

I originally had this in Spoilers & Speculation, but I want honest response on this and this seemed worthy of a seperate thread.

erm or Azulon was simply killed by his son and Ursa ran away.

That doesn't explain the "Everything I've done, I did to protect you." line.

awsome theory! i think u might be right, exept??i have??a few theorys of my own on this. ok, so i think that azulon threatend to kill/banish zuko. ozai didnt disobey his father, but ursa found out, either by azula or overhearing a conversation. she goes to azulon and asks if she can take zukos place, and that he will baish/ kill her instead, in order to protect zuko. then, she goes, says goodbye to zuko in that convesation bit, and the goes to azulon. now this is where my theory spliots. either she goes, gets baished by azulon(or killed) and azulon dies from other causes. or she kills azulon and escapes, knowing that she will be found out. or she dies from battle wounds from the fight with azulo(kinda like a mutual strike)

In all likely hood, she is, of course we haven't seen proof but it's all speculation. I just bumped it to reremind people, because in the coming months we'll find out who right or wrong I was...

ur heart attack theory could be right, but I think after whatever happened, Ozai said he would do as Azulon asked, and kill Zuko, so Ursa told him she would make sure Iroh would not contest the lordship in exchange for Zuko's life; and both Azula and Ozai might have lied to Ursa, and Azulon told Ozai to Kill Azula(but he was gonna stop Ozai just before doing it, kind of like Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac)

Forgive the shameless self-promotion, but I just now remembed this thread (again), but with the last few episodes and what we've learned, thought it'd be nice to get new feedback.

I said all this back in '06, so it's interesting to see how on point I could be.

I don't think Azulon would take the challenge from Ursa, a woman, that's just a little unrealistic. Ursa probably plotted with Ozai to kill Azulon, that's all...

You are all fools. Ursa hired Chuck Norris to kill Azulan, which he did with ease. However, his price was the entire FN treasury. Becasue she bankrupted the nation Ursa was banished.
