    So...

I have a question of sorts...

Anybody have any thoughts about the fact that Aang didn't kill the Fire Lord in the end? Think it was a creative decision on the part of the creators or that Nickelodeon just wouldn't allow it?

I'm kind of leaning towards the latter, because I think DiMartino and Konietzko are very smart and talented and would have forshadowed the way out of killing Ozai long before they actually did. As it stands, the giant creature giving Aang Energy Bending seems like something pulled out of their rear ends at the last minute.

i thinks its basically for aang's benefit and has nothing to do with nickelodeon. The fact that aang didnt want to kill the firelord made it that way.

Actually, we were just talking about how the lion-turtle had been foreshadowed throughout the series.

Lol, I didn't feel sorry for him! In fact, I distinctly remember shouting at the TV, "Well, look who's running away now!!"

Anyone who didn't enjoy this finale is either:

A fan who craves more closure.

    A dissatisfied shipper.

    An Azula.

Though there are plenty of important unanswered ? and loose ends, that just means there's more room for a continuation of some kind and in no way should it subtract from the enjoyment of the finale. I would, however, like a more detailed explanation of how Aang entered the AS, but that will most likely be explained in the DVD commentary, as well as an elaboration on Ursa's current situation. Hopefully.

Shippers and Azulas...I got nothing. Either you liked it or you didn't and nothing I say is gonna change your mind.

    Or a Naruto fan.

doh! How did I miss that!

I might not have advice for the shippers and Azulas out there, but Naruto fans I do:

    stfu and gtfo.

That goes for any anime elitists as well.

Or retards as well, they hate it too. Seriously I dont get how people don't like it.

Exactly. And just because they established that the creature existed doesn't mean they successfully established it as a Chekhov's Gun. When the core emotional conflict of the episode is whether or not Aang should kill the Fire Lord, then it becomes a Deus Ex Machina to have a big turtle come along and give him a way out that doesn't have any consequences. They should have either had him make the choice and kill Ozai or spare his life and live with whatever consequences that entailed. IMO.

actually there was a picture posted a couple pages back, of a statue (real) that looked exactly like the lion turtle. so i don't think they just pulled it out of there areses, i think they did some old foktail reaserch or something and found the idea and just altered it slightly to create a lion turtle. and in the library episode Aang mention the lion turtle and there was also a picture of that a couple pages back.

Most wonderful finale ever. It started with the GAang at a beach, and Zuko and Aang training. Perfect way to begin. They all start practicing what they're gonna do when they fight the Fire Lord. Apparently, Toph loves acting evil and attacking her friends. But Aang doesn't want to kill the Fire Lord or even the Melon Lord. So, Sokka needs to show him how its done. Except I don't think Momo would be eating the Fire Lord's head afterwards. Soon Aang went missing, and the rest of the GAang had to look for him, even started some new shipping with Zuko and Toph. Soon Azula became Fire Lord after Ozai became Phoenix King. Then Azula got her hair done (due to the fact that she banished her royal hair comber) and soon started going insane. Was it me or was the new voice for Iroh kinda bad. It's been good up until now, but it just wasn't as good as when Mako did it. Too bad not many people could attend Azula's corronation since she banished everyone, then she totally lost it when Zuko and Katara showed up. Best water bending move ever was when Katara froze her and Azula in ice to lock her up. Aang bending all four elements around him would make awesome desktop. It was good how he didn't kill the Fire Lord, but took his bending away. Although I think he should've killed him. But that's just me. Great ending, Mai will probably become Fire Lady someday. I loved everybody's new outfits. Then it, of course, ends with Katara and Aang kissing. I'm more of a Zutara fan, but the kss was still nice. It was anyways an awesome finale. The only downsides to it was we won't know where Zuko's mom is. Where is she we'll never know. And what happened to Azula afterwards. Knowing her, she's probably in a cell with padded walls. Also the people who went to the play at Ember Island are probably gonna want a refund since their ending wasn't that accurate. XD But I feel it as though it ended the right way.
    Yea GAang LOL , don't u mean

    -Sokka "Team Avatar is back"..LOL

i dont think Ozai would have been killed if the show was on nick or not. the creators are smart they keep close to the characters personality. and Aang is 112 years old physicly but has the mind set of a 12 year old. 12 year olds are not violent in that manor, and its not Aangs personality to take a life.

You know how water, earth, and fire all have specials and air apparently doesn't? I just thought of one, kind of. Maybe he can either move very fast, like vibrating, or super-vibrate air and blast it, making it a shockwave. I got this idea because I am a huge Spider-man fan and my 3rd favorite Spider-man villain, the Shocker, basically shoots compressed air vibrating intensely from his gauntlets, essentially shockwaves, which is why he's called Shocker, and then I thought, what if airbenders could do that? Though this kind of sounds silly still, but whatever, just an idea.
