I'll probably have to put my flame shield on for this one, but honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the finale.

With all the build up with Aang stressing over how he was going to defeat the fire lord without killing him, to have the Lion Turtle just come in randomly and give him a way out seemed like a cop out by the creators because they couldn't have Aang kill anybody considering its made for nick, which is a children's network.

Another thing that makes me question the Lion Turtle is that the Avatars have been around for thousands of years, and the ones that Aang recalled when he was on the Turtle, Roku, Kyoshi, and the air and water ones, had no idea what the turtle was. In all their thousands of years the creators want you to believe that NONE of the avatars in the past came into contact with a giant floating island?

It was not a cop out because Aang couldn't kill anyone according to Nick. People have died in this series. But you've got to realize throughout the whole entire show Aang has been against violence. It's the Air Nomad's way of life. This didn't suddenly come out of nowhere. The Lion Turtle was a mystery to the other Avatars, IMO, because they weren't worthy of his presence. Each one was ridiculously willing to take out a life without a second thought. Aang knew better, his soul was more pure. That's why the Lion Turtle Revealed itself.

It is unsure, it is rumored that in 2010, there will be a live-action Avatar movie, directed by M.Night Shyamalan.

No rumors, baby =D Avatar will definitely have 3 live actions movies premiering in 2010 in theaters! Each movie will revolve around one of the books. It'll be epic. Hopefully they don't mess up, though... And now major major rumors are circulating about a spin-off. Bryke has mentioned it but never confirmed. I hope the CC will help us figure it out.

    oh really? =)

It better be good, I mean as long as they follow the plot, and hire good actors, the only thing that could go wrong is the special effects.

That was my worry. But I've grown accustomed to the idea and now I think it sounds awesome. But the movies may be rushed, which is my main concern.

Yeah, I had some concerns, but right now i'm just thinking any more Avatar material would be welcome and appreciated.

Same here. Whether it's good or bad, it's still better than nothing, IMO. It isn't a whole new plot line, too, which means the show can't be TOTALLY butchered. They've at least got a good foundation. That's good, right?

Also, Aang being able to go into the avatar state seemed like the creators were trying to have their cake and eat it too. The guru said that unless Aang gave up Keitara he would not be able to go into the Avatar state again, yet simply because he hit a rock he was able to go into the state? Even if he had a physical barrier or whatever, wouldn't that mean all that time ago when he was woke up by Keitara he wouldn't have known who she was? Because he went into the Avatar state, which means he should have forgotten who she was, right?

Just a few things that struck me, I'm a big avatar fan, so I'd appreciate it if you guys didn't flame me for having a different opinion than you.

Oh, and another thing, I was a big Zutara shipper, so I didn't like that either. I thought that Aang would have gone into avatar state to fight Ozai, and then finish him off in some insane way, like making a volcano explode near them or something, and that would leave Zuko open with Keitara.

Aang can still be with Katara, he just can't have earthly attachments. He can still love her and access the Avatar State, but he can't prioritize her over everything else. I don't understand why he went into the Avatar State than either, but I can overlook it. And if you're honestly angry because Zutara didn't happen, get over it. It was never going to happen. I'm surprised they got as close as they did.

Giving Katara up doesn't mean forgetting her, he had to let go of his earthly attachment to control the Avatar State but that doesn't mean he couldn't love her and it certainly didn't mean he had to forget her. And he did give her up in Crossroads of Destiny, that's how he was able to entire the Avatar State, but then it was locked by a physical force (Azula's lighting) so it makes sense it could be unlocked by one.

And I'm a Zutarian too, but really it was never meant to be. Kataang was gonna happen from the beginning.

I also found it weird that the Order of the White Lotus was able to retake Ba Sing Se even when it had (presumably) hundreds of fire benders at their strongest states. I mean, I understand that the benders that were there, Iroh, Pakku, and the others, were very strong, but the comet allowed the fire benders to completely annihilate the air benders, who weren't exactly weak, and yet during the comet the White Lotus, which didn't have THAT many benders, was able to defeat the fire bending army that was supercharged.

Also, Aang being able to go into the avatar state seemed like the creators were trying to have their cake and eat it too. I will not flame you I promise

But I agree with some of the stuff, the creators could not make peaceful Aang kill someone, so they did cop out on it.

The Order of the White Lotus had 2 firebending masters with them at the time, who were much more experience, and new what to do with their new found power. I do not think the other firebenders really new how to use their powers to their fullest potential, unlike the masters.

I read somewhere that by Aang hitting his back against the rock released one of his Chakras or something, and that was how he was able to go into the Avatar state.

    PS: Go Zutarians

I really didn't mind Aang going with Katara because I wanted whats best for Aangy and Zuko looks like he is nuts over Mei so I feel for you Zutaras out there.

ya i have to say i thought previous to the final airing that it might be rushed seeing as nick didnt air the 3rd season in america on time and kept delaying it intill they aired the final. so i also feel they rushed the battles and didnt meet the insane matches to there rightful awesomeness. they were they best fighters against the best fighters zuko azula katara way to short azula is insanly good, way to good to be taken down by a chain. and irho where was he, his new body and he throws all of 2 fireballs. but i have to say that i think the masters would have been able to take back ba sing sa, they had the dragon of the west and thhe guy that left the army, plus the water bending master and sword.

ya when is comic con? iv never been big on it but is it just about avatar or other shows too? whats the date set and where? are comic cons once a year or just when ever?

The creators are gonna be at the San Diego Comic Con on July 25 or 26, I can't remember.

oh not cool i dont think my parents will be down with flying me to the other side of the country for comic con in only a couple days.

Lol, I've been trying to convince my parents too, but time is running out. I don't think it will happen...

ya i didnt know about it so i just asked and they didnt know what it was. then i explained it was in san diego (i live in New York) and they laughed. then i started crying. is avatar always at comic con or will it fad away? like next year will it be featured?

I haven't been to any Comic Cons, but cities basically host their own at different times. Like the one here (Phoenix, AZ) happened back in like April. There was a NY Comic Con, and I think that's when they first released the Avatar Finale Trailer. You should have gone to that one. ^_^
But anyway, since I've never been to one, I can't really tell you a whole bunch about them. But, I don't think Bryke will be at every CC in the country, but I'm pretty sure there will be something about Avatar at every one. I remember seeing Aang on the flier for the CC here. And I doubt Avatar is going to be fading away anytime soon, especially with the live action movies coming up.

His wound (where Azula has blasted him) was struck. If I remember correctly that wound was about even with his solar plexus. The yellow solar plexus chakra, Manipura, controls power and will. Rather appropriate, then, that its blockage would have blocked the Avatar State. Although I suppose if any of the chakras had been blocked, it would have inhibited AS.

Sorry, just thought I'd throw that in.

Mine isn't downloading, either. I'm hoping it'll be on tomorrow by 4 in the morning. I'm leaving for Florida at 6, and I need at least an hour and a half to download it and then some more time to put it on my iPod.

I'd slap Katara first. That's a must. That girl has pissed me off ever since TSR and EIP. Then I'd tell Aang that he has a beautiful, kind soul and that he's a role model to thousands.
