Very good point. There are four air temples and they were all destroyed in one night. Even though fighting fire with air is extremely easy, air just makes fire stronger. It still seems hard to believe.

Who said the Air Nomads were destroyed in one night. Maybe the FN used the comet to greatly weaken the Air Nomads, then it took a week or so for the FN to finally defeat the AN.

They could have split up and prepared for the attack separately.

Well the air nomads didnt have a military like the other benders so when the fire nation first struck the air nomads, it was a surprise and the nomads didnt have a plan to react to the ambush. Also, seeing how the monks didnt kill, the fire nation had the upper hand since they wanted to kill off all of them anyway. Im not sure if any of this is true but me and a couple friends kinda found pieces from different sources and put it together and it turned out like this. The fire nation didnt finish them off the day of souzins comet, but it left the air nomads badly outnumbered and the fire nation took the rest out a little time afterwards.

I'm still kinda finding it hard to believe that Aang is "THE LAST AIRBENDER".

Seriously, get real. If America Destroyed Mexico, not every single mexican would die.
So yeah, i think there is more airbenders, but i was reading something on the summary page that said that Bryke originally intended to make more seasons than 3, but the next seasons would not be about the Fire Nation and them taking over the world.

So the gaang isn't completely out of buisness yet?

true, but its been nearly 100 years since the air nomads were killed off. if any air nomads escaped they probably wouldnt be alive and i doubt aang would marry a 100 year old woman.

the air nomads were always located at the air temples. The reason for this is answered in the last episode were aang talks to the previous air nomad avatar. She said that the monks reached enlightenment by detaching themselves from the world. So thats what i came up with because i was also wondering how they could kill all of them.

i heard some of what the lion turtle said, but since his voice was deep and he was talking slowly, i think if your tv had a lesser sound quality, you might not have heard it all. and yeah, the sound did bleep out when bumi was talking and i started freaking out for a few moments. who knows what he could have said within those three seconds?!?! lol

I understood everything the lion-turtle said, and I think it's funny that some people didn't.

Anyway, I had the captioning on when the sound went out, so I know what Bumi said, even if I didn't actually hear it. What he said was:

"There I was, back in Omashu, waiting for just the right moment. I didn't know what or when..."

The part in bold was when the sound went out.
Nobody really missed anything, we could have guessed what he said anyway.

Maybe air nomads are in hiding some place and have no idea what goes on in the world around them so they dont know that the war is over and dont come out of hiding.

Lol, that's weird. It went out for like everyone else. It only happened for about 4 seconds though, while Bumi was talking in The Old Masters.

Could someone explain to me what Katara did to Azula to tie her hands to the metal cage thing?

Did she freeze the water and unfreeze herself and Azula's arms or where they just in water?
