Yeah, Suki joining Team Avatar very important. If she had not joined...Toph and Sokka would not have survived Sozin's Comet.

exactly my point. but if mai and ty lee hadn't betrayed azula, zuko and possibly katara would've been eaten alive by the horror known as azula.

It was to stop the volcano from burning down the village, but he couldn't stop it. Meanwhile, the village ran away for safety reasons.

Dude, his village was going to be burned to the ground. Everyone would die. It's not as easy as it sounds to just rebuild a village.

Not necessarily, if you take Suki out of the equation the writers could simply have wrote that part differently.

Alas Suki isn't that important to the plot. She's a recurring character who didn't really have her own storyline, while Azula did, and Mai & Ty Lee were essential in building that storyline.

Suki was cool until BR. Then she's just this damsel in distress. She wasn't as strong as she had been in 104 or whatever episode it was.

I agree, I too was expecting more from her character.

Actually, I wasn't. I thought she played out her part nicely. I think it's kind of obvious that if you're all alone in the BR it's almost impossible to break free. But, with outside help, hope starts to present itself. She did everything she was told to do. Dude, she kidnapped the warden. You know how brave she is? She risked, basically, her life to help out herself and others. I think that must count for something. I thought she did superbly and I wouldn't want any more or less from her.

I cannot remember which post exactly you said this in, but I remember you railing against using hypothetical situations when discussing Avatar. Do you not find it ironic you are now guilty of the same thing you went off on? I imagine the writers could have written it differently, but they did not. As the story now stands, Suki ended up saving Sokka and Toph from dying...which I consider a fairly important event.

I'm guessing if the first live action movie, The Last Airbender, is successful then the creators may go on to doing a Spin-off.

Oh, and I heard there was supposed to be an extra scene in the finale with Ursa, but Bryke cut the scene for some reason.

    1. Exactly right. They said they're making the movie right now, and after it's over they may release a new series.

    2. Right again. They decided to have the peace excerpt in the end instead. I fully agree with their decision. Tying all the loose ends would make a lot of fans lose interest in the show. Also, the peace excerpt exemplified how calm and collected everything has become. It was the resolution to the whole entire series. It foreshadowed the future; everything is as it should be. *cough Kataang cough*

Yes, they had it storyboarded, but it was MDD who wanted it cut...not Bryan. I am actually glad that happened. MDD said they are eventually going to answer the question of Ursa's whereabouts. That means the Avatarverse is not over. How they answer this is anyone's guess, but it is not over.

I hope that deleted "Ursa Scene" is on the DVD.
Or Released on the internet, because I'm curious like that.

Speaking of Spin-Off, My friend told me a flyer was released claiming a new Avatar series was in works, and that it would be released in Spring 2009.
Whether or not it's true, I don't know, but I hope it is.
I just can't get enough of Avatar. I love it

I would predict that is the most likely outcome. I could also see them doing the hour-long special movies; similar to the SpongeBob movies...only markedly better.
