But to be completely serious for a moment...

What if Nick left the July 14th airdate scroll up and then come July 14th didn't air ANYTHING.

Somehow like many who have posted on this thread thus far, I am taking some small comfort in the fact that the bandaid is being pulled off in one fell swoop NOW and not July 14th.

That would be beyond heartbreaking...not unlike the past few Fridays where the Nick schedule read Avatar at 8:30 p.m. EST only to suddenly change to 'Barnyard' or 'SpongeBob' on Thursday morning.

So yes, it sucks. There's no way around it. But it could be a heck of a lot worse.

I agree. As long as we have a set airdate in the month of July, then I'm all good. A set airdate, no matter how broad (unless, you know, it's like "airs in 2008!" or something), is better than nothing at all.

    You're right.

The end of the S3 Finale Trailer said "July 2008."

In the Toonzone.net interview Nickelodeon confirmed the finale would be in "July 2008."

I will take 'July 2008' over 'sometime in 2008' any day.

See, that's the thing. The trailer cleary says "the story concludes July 2008". I'm not sure, but does it mean that all eight yet-to-air episodes are going to be airing that month? It could give us any timeframe from now until then, right? At least that's what I'm hoping. I mean, I'd love the Avatar overload, but having the new episodes once a week gives me something to look forward to, ya know?

You hit it. We just don't know. Think about it, the posters at the NYCC said that 'Avatar Returns May 6th.' What they didn't clarify is that Avatar returns May 6th only to DVD. What I'm wondering is does the 'Avatar Concludes July 2008' mean Nick intends to air these episodes...all of them...meaning WAT, FBM, BR:1, BR:2, TSR, EIP and the four-part finale OR is Avatar NEVER returning to air on Nick and we're looking at another never-before-seen episodes including the finale going straight to DVD as well?

...My God, I think I'd really hate Nick if that happened. How could a show meant for television only come out on DVD?!

Yeah...it's just...six episodes PLUS the finale? I just hope they don't randomly air it like they did for Danny Phantom - if I remember correctly, they rushed through to the finale in just one week, and I didn't even know about it until it was over. Avatar doesn't deserve that type of treatment, that's for sure.

Bah, I hate that Zodiac stuff anyways. I don't think I'm really that stubborn. I'm not having a problem seeing your side of things Lisa, but when it comes to the internet; the minority opinion is just going to trampled if no one sticks up for it.

Edit: Besides, I thought I was the optimistic one here?

EvilTwin what do you lose here by allowing Avatards to freely vent in this thread? I mean what do you personally lose? Do you feel if you don't defend Nickelodeon no one will?

It's not just this thread, and it's not just today or just tomorrow. It's every thread and it's every day I come to these forums.

I love Avatar too, but I think we suffer far less than we pretend to. Doesn't anyone try and look for the positives at all? At least it isn't canceled. Which is far more than I can say about hundreds of thousands of other shows that people loved. Can't we be thankful that Nick funded this project in the first place?

I mean, I don't expect everyone to love Nick, or to be entirely positive all the time about it. But it isn't becoming to dwell on the negatives this much. There are far worse things going on in the world to be really upset about. Besides, Avatar is supposed to be a thing of enjoyment, if we're this upset when we think about it; then we have lost sight as to why we watch it.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, if I don't try stem the tide of hatred, then I can't in good conscience post here.

I agree with everything you've said here ET77 but I have one question for you...how has anything that you have posted thus far on this thraad promoted a positive attitude or encouraged Avatarians to step back and see this news as potentially having a silver lining?

What you just said was more moving and more soothing than anything else you've said thus far and it makes perfect sense. There is no need to add insult to injury by taunting Avatarians with 'I 'heart' Nick' comments just to be annoying or condescending. It is not at all helpful and frankly according to the TV.com TOS it's trolliing and therefore a violation of the TOS, plain and simple.

Additionally simply because you feel that Avatarians may be potentially over-indulging in their emotions doesn't mean they really are. To mean that simply because you perceive something to be real, doesn't make it real or the truth. It makes it your opinion ONLY.

You share your fan rights here EQUALLY with those who occupy this public forum with you. It's not your job to police the forum to rid it of Nick-rage. It's not my job either. That's HighLord's gig if he deems it detrimental to the forum community.

You know what? Maybe I was a little spiteful when I said that I "like Nick"(I didn't say I "heart Nick"). Maybe I am just a little tired of reading about how much everyone hates Nick, but how does that make it okay for people to attack my opinion? People with the majority opinion ("I hate Nick") get to plaster it all over the forums and everyone just nods and moves on. Yet, even if I had the most innocent intentions, saying that I like Nick would get me flamed.

Regardless, what would you have me do? Every other thread I go to, I have to read Nick bashing. Once again it's a double standard. I'm supposed to respect everyone else's wishes enough to not talk about liking Nick or at the very least anti anti-Nick, but no one else respects my wishes not to bash Nick.

don't let the "banner thing" bring you so much down

it might be that the "nick-prixies" think is enough to put banner of July 14th for a few hours, than let word of mouth carry the news, or they might have decided to start a lil earlier and spread the episodes on 3 or 4 weeks instead of just one or two weeks

If he likes Nick, he likes Nick, I can respect that. I can respect that because I partially agree. Bashing Nick will get us nowhere. Just chill, take a passive approach.

TT have you read this thread from the very beginning? He definitely was only offering his opinion in these last few posts. However he was deliberately antagonizing other posters, i.e., trolling for the majority of the thread. You will best remember him for starting the 'You Guys Need A Kick in the A$$' thread where he was using the exact same tactic.

He has EVERY right to feel the way he does about Nick. I'm not arguing that in the least. But the people in this thread have an EQUAL right to their anti-Nick opinions, IF they choose to have them. Again if anyone doesn't like the thread topic, simply opt to choose another one to post in.

The topic is fairly self-explanatory in the first post.

I agree Wise. Actually when I heard about it I wasn't really that upset to tell the truth. I genuinely laughed out loud because I thought to myself this three-year journey wouldn't be complete if Nickelodeon didn't shift the actual airdate in July around a bit in a suspenseful, albeit torturous manner. It's kind of like a reliable way for Nick to book-end the series for us. LOL

In July, are they going to start airing with the Western Air Temple or go straight to after the DVDs?

We don't know. Truthfully Nick never confirmed this either way at the NYCC.

The only thing that was said for certain is that 'July 2008' is the series finale...now whether that means straight to DVD like this last set of episodes or if it that means TSR, EIP and the four-part finale actually air on Nick is up for debate.

But they didn't say if they would pick up with WAT, FBM, BR:1 and BR:2 in July as well.

This is also partly why many who can are joining the 'Buy the DVD May 6th' campaign. With so much that is uncertain, this DVD release is one of the few things that IS certain.

Ah, Nick. How much I wish to poke thee.

You're all probably going to hate me for saying this, but I'm not as devastated that Avatar might not air until July/whenever Nick intend to air it as I would've been, say, this time last year. I've got the most important exams in my education (or so the teachers keep saying ) coming up and I guess Avatar would distract my already poor revision. But still...Nick should just stop screwing with everyone and air the damn episodes already.

Also, Lisa, nice job on the 'Bad News Chan' title

Lisa, seriously, this is a little unnecessary. He's just posting his opinions, you post your anti-nick opinions all the time on threads not for nick bashing, and we never threaten to report you.

The first post he made here was "I like Nick" he could be saying it for plenty of reasons it could be to show that not every Avatar fan hates Nick, it could be to troll. He then had a reply saying "If this was youtube, I would give you an unhappy thumb for that post." In fact the majority of his posts are antagozing just stating his opinion the antogising posts are noone near as horrible as some of the stuff people say on here about Nick.

Meh, this was expectable. You didn't actually think that it would be so easy and painless, did you? If you did, you're an optimistic fool.

EvilTwin, you have perhaps the weakest arguement I have ever seen. Nick is great because it hasn't cancelled Avatar? Normally to be liked, you have to do something more worthwhile.

You can say whatever you want, but you had better be able to back it up, or I just get to laugh at your sad little show of optimism.

And Lisa's right, posting it here, in front of the other fans who were obviously angered by this news was neither tactful nor smart. You must've known what the reaction would be and known that you weren't going to make an impact. Right?

    Thanks per the title. LOL
