I agree with everything you've said here ET77 but I have one question for you...how has anything that you have posted thus far on this thraad promoted a positive attitude or encouraged Avatarians to step back and see this news as potentially having a silver lining?

What you just said was more moving and more soothing than anything else you've said thus far and it makes perfect sense. There is no need to add insult to injury by taunting Avatarians with 'I 'heart' Nick' comments just to be annoying or condescending.

You know what? Maybe I was a little spiteful when I said that I "like Nick"(I didn't say I "heart Nick"). Maybe I am just a little tired of reading about how much everyone hates Nick, but how does that make it okay for people to attack my opinion? People with the majority opinion ("I hate Nick") get to plaster it all over the forums and everyone just nods and moves on. Yet, even if I had the most innocent intentions, saying that I like Nick would get me flamed.

Regardless, what would you have me do? Every other thread I go to, I have to read Nick bashing. Once again it's a double standard. I'm supposed to respect everyone else's wishes enough to not talk about liking Nick or at the very least anti anti-Nick, but no one else respects my wishes not to bash Nick.

    Lisa31468 wrote:
Additionally simply because you feel that Avatarians may be potentially over-indulging in their emotions doesn't mean they really are. To mean that simply because you perceive something to be real, doesn't make it real or the truth.

Maybe you are, maybe you aren't. I think that's for each individual to decide about themselves. Regardless, your posts don't lie. If people don't really feel so strongly about disliking Nick, then why do they make it seem like they do by posting about it frequently?

You share your fan rights here EQUALLY with those who occupy this public forum with you. It's not your job to police the forum to rid it of Nick-rage. It's not my job either. That's HighLord's gig if he deems it detrimental to the forum community.

I disagree. It's not my job to pass judgement, but it is everyone's job to attempt to make the forums a better place.

    *sighs*

    Here's a link to the TOS: http://www.tv.com/feature/tos/

You've been warned. I've asked you politely several times to leave this thread alone and the posters in it. Instead you've sucked up 3/4 of it essentially making a stance as why you have the right to tank it.

Lisa, seriously, this is a little unnecessary. He's just posting his opinions, you post your anti-nick opinions all the time on threads not for nick bashing, and we never threaten to report you. If he likes Nick, he likes Nick, I can respect that. I can respect that because I partially agree. Bashing Nick will get us nowhere. Just chill, take a passive approach.

TT have you read this thread from the very beginning? He definitely was only offering his opinion in these last few posts. However he was deliberately antagonizing other posters, i.e., trolling for the majority of the thread. You will best remember him for starting the 'You Guys Need A Kick in the A$$' thread where he was using the exact same tactic.

He has EVERY right to feel the way he does about Nick. I'm not arguing that in the least. But the people in this thread have an EQUAL right to their anti-Nick opinions, IF they choose to have them. Again if anyone doesn't like the thread topic, simply opt to choose another one to post in.

The topic is fairly self-explanatory in the first post.

Now that I got out of bed!

He didn't come out and say what he felt at the beginning, but just because you have to read into something between the lines a little isn't a bad thing.

Basically, what he and I are saying is this.
For OVER A YEAR now, every thread on this forum has been filled with hating Nick for postponing this, not announcing that, treating us so unfairly. You can't go anywhere on this forum as an active member and NOT find it. Frankly, it's sickening, depressing, and some people are just plain tired of it. But, like ET said, we're in the minority.

So what do we do? We can't really stay on the forum if we want to avoid it, since it's everywhere. So we leave? Well, that's not really right, since we DO have our own right to be here and to post our feelings. That reminds me of my dad, who's totally for putting things into law based on Christianity, since it's a majority-Christian nation. Exact same sentiment.

So we just suck it up, and keep sucking it up for over an entire. freaking. year. It's old, it's not doing anything constructive for the forum, and it's not what we gathered here to do. If you want to vent your emotions, they invented these things called blogs. That's what a blog is for. Let your emotions out there, and rant there with all the people who come to your blog and comment. The forum is for constructive, thoughtful posting.

A lot of people claim to support OWLism. I really doubt an OWL would be keen on sitting around whining and saying, "Let's stab a Spongebob toy!" Why? Because it has nothing to do with Avatar, it's not thoughtful at all, and it doesn't provoke anything except other mindless posts.

If Nick's so bad, but you can't do anything about it, then just don't pay them attention. Watch something else during the wait. Every time one of these big gaps in airing comes up, I watch at least one new anime. I enjoy Avatar when I can, and I don't wallow around in grief about something out of my control when I can't enjoy it. I enjoy other things during that time.

Now that I've made that clear in a nice, long post, I'll be leaving, unless I feel someone intends to further this discussion. And no, I'm not a big fan of Nick, either.

    (Fudge, that was intense.)

I STILL say we've got to buy more Avatar merchandise before we're going to get any new episodes. I'll bet not enough people preordered the DVDs after the May 6th release date was announced, Nick looked at the profit margins, and took away the air date.

You and ET aren't saying the same thing. You caution us to exercise restraint, he added fuel to the fire. Saying "I like Nick" in a Nick hate thread is not going to make it go away.

I'd listen to Raienbrasa though. Nick will always ignore our cries for Avatar, no point in wasting life trying. Watch Bleach, Naruto, Samurai Jack, and Cowboy Bebop on Saturdays. Goooooood stuffz. Play video games, read a book, y'know?

Aw, thanks. Anyway, I think it's pretty obvious that any thread with the following:

    1. Nick in the title
    2. Something negative
    3. Nick in the title + Lisa as the author (not meant to be a shot)

means it will turn into a Nick hate party. Like MarryLarry said, we should have a "I hate Nick" thread and be through.

We are all emotionally invested in this show, probably more than sane people should be.

What the Nick people don't know or realize is that because of this, the fan base of this show could potentially have the collective will and power of the Star Trek fans of the late 60s or the Moonies of the late 90s. Sailor Moon actually got bounced around to three different networks before CN finally committed to dubbing all of seasons 2, 3, and 4 of that show. The lesson being, it takes letters, people. Lots of emails and petitions and letters and just basically bugging the heck out of them until they cave.

I believe Avatar will be immediately picked up by another network for syndication after Nick lets it go. It's too big of a ratings draw. (This happened to Futurama; CN let it go [dummies] and CC picked it up right away and began funding new eps. And Avatar is more popular than Futurama.)

BTW, I don't hate Nick (I've actually probably been watching Nick longer than any of you have been alive). It helped raise me. But I am a little peeved with them since it's obvious that the show is finished and there's no real reason for them not to show the eps except to toy with us.

But CN didn't even technically own Futurama, they just had the contract to air the episodes. FOX had Futurama originally, but like Nick, they didn't seem to understand the fanbase, and how much it could have drawn people in. But thanks to high DVD sales, they realized how popular Futurama actually is.

But Avatar has a much more rabid fanbase, so there is even more potential for the DVD sales.

Hey all, long time no chat...

Well, Nick has its moments where they do some smart things and then some stuff that can drive you insane. In the end, it doesn't matter so much because we all love Avatar and we're excited about all the recent news. The trailer shows July 2008. The Nick mag shows an ad for the volume 3 DVD to come out on May 6th. If the DVD ad is true then we can watch the next 5 episodes. We just have to buy them. In fact I would encourage it so Nick gets serious money support to keep Avatar and setup for the movies. So lets all do them a favor and buy the movie. Beg your parents to spend the 15 or 20 dollars for the video. Since I am a 30 year old avatarian, I can buy my own. The point is, the more support we give this show, the more likely it is to succeed more than it already has!

Probably because Futurama isn't airing new episodes, just breaking down the new movies.

eh, i don't think so, since the episodes are already made and ready to be aired, Nick gains absoultely nothing by not airig them, if fact they are LOSING money by not airing them. (cause commercials bring in money)

I think they will air them eventually cause they will still get decent ratings with them (espcailly the finale) so even if they do release the DVDs first, the will air the episodes sooner or later. I think they ae just waiting for the right time to air them. Summer would not be a good idea to air the episodes (especailly the finale ) since ratings are lowest during that season, so their best bet would be either to air them really, really soon, (in like 1 week or 2) or in septemeber. (maybe that's why they decided to pull the july airdate)
