I like the idea of Zutara, but I am well aware that it, indeed, will not happen. . But Mai is a great developing character. It is interesting to know her friendship was somewhat based on fear.
What I would like to know is when, exactly, did Maiko happen. They had no interaction season 2, and then in "The Awakening" they are a couple.
Did I miss something in between?

They got together in a comic released between the two. I've got it somewhere around here.

As for shipping, I would love Zutara to happen. Even if it doesn't happen, the two should have such a bond. Both of them losing their mothers. Though Ursa being alive or not is still up in the air.

I don't like Kataang. I never, ever have. She seems motherly towards him, and everyone else. I always saw it as a 12 year old kid crushing on an older high school student. Even though Aang and Katara are not that far apart in age. I've never seen anything that shows that she actually, factually loves him.

Zuko is 16. And whoever told you that all 16-year-olds are mature is dead wrong. I know many 16-year-olds who act like they're still in the second grade.

Also, Aang is mature way beyond his years. And if you listen to what Katara said to him in 310, you'll see that she agrees:

Katara: We've been through so many things together. And I've seen you grow up so much. You're not that little goofy kid I found in the iceberg anymore. (smiles) I guess what I'm trying to say is...I'm really proud of you.

And if you have seen TH, did you just ignore the evidence in it?

Why are we arguing the same trivial things? If you want to talk about Aang being too short/bald/immature for Katara, that can easily go in a non-spoiler things.

HERE we should be talking about how Maiko is back, how Zuko rescuing her father might lead to Katara forgiving him, etc.

Sorry about that. I didn't mean to "jump all over you"...sometimes I just get a little overzealous, especially right after seeing two new episodes. Now that I read a couple of my last posts, it does look like I was kinda attacking you...sorry!

My opinion of Maiko has seriously improved since seeing that. Before, I was just kinda "meh" about it, but now it's a lot more interesting. Jeez, she REALLY loves him! I actually felt really sorry for her. She's gone through all this crap and yet she still loves him. That's dedication right there.
This episode has officially made me a Maiko shipper.
