My last post for now.?? I forgot one thing:

There was one piece of extremely symbolic imagery revolving aroung Zuko in this episode, other than the dreams. This was the situation of his thirst.?? Not just figurative, but his literal need for water in this episode.

    Hint, hint.

Yeah, between his drinking that whole bucket-full and washing his face... I almost expected his hands to start glowing when he stuck 'em in the basin!

The Zaang thing might also??hint that??Zuko is??about to become a master bender.?? After all, the arrow does not mean Avatar per se- it means Master??Bender in the air nomad culture, and the air nomads seem to be the only ones to have a permanent symbol to distinguish its Masters from non-master benders.??

Or maybe it means Zuko will help Aang (too obvious!).?? Or, maybe it's predicting that Zuko will become envious of Aang's 'do and decide to get an arrow of his own!

Also, Masterofaeons, that was a really funny thing, with you saying Katara was hugging Appa's butt, but I think that was one of the legs in the back.

    That's his tail.

Water is representing Katara, for it is her element.

Well, Mike and Bryan enjoy giving us all these little hints and teasing out minds wondering if they really mean something or if we're just being tortured for no reason. I think there were a lot more references to water than in a lot of episodes, excluding the ones that had someone teaching waterbending or doing some attacks. So I think it wasn't unintended or teasing us just for the hell of it. The creators are having fun watching their fans ponder over such small things.

Actually I just think that he was very thirsty and ill so the water went everywhere meanshile everyone is just reading into it too much.?? Just because the guy spills water on him it doesn't mean that he is going to get together with Katara.?? It just means that he is sick and uncoordinated.

    Sorry to spoil the fun.

i think the creators just like messing with us, but remember this is a nick show and i don't think they are going to make us look that much into it but i could be wrong.

I don't necessarily think that the water symbolism points specifically to a Zuko-Katara romance-- I was thinking deeper than that. Iroh said that Zuko's sickness was not natural (i.e. spiritual) and that he was fighting a war within himself because his decision to free Appa was so far at odds with his self-image.

What is his self-image? Someone who is strong, a fighter, but also someone who is scarred, banished, less-favored, dishonored. He's tried to somehow fight his way back to honor by doing his father's bidding, but the scar and the shame still remain. He needs to be cleansed, he needs to be healed. He's dealt pretty well with his false pride lately, but he still needs to have his sense of shame washed away. And if his physical scar happens to get "washed away" by Katara's Spirit Water in the process, well....

...or, more likely, the creators of Avatar put that scene in to show how feverish Zuko was, and are probably even now sitting at home going, "hints to Zutara? Where the heck did they get that from?"

Yes thats could lead their thier relationship into another level. i tried to force into my mind that Zukp and Katara were never going to becom attracted to another. but now i cant deny the obvious.

No spoiled fun. As a Zutara shipper I can also say that him pouring water all over himself in a feverish state as he tried to drink it had NOTHING to do with her. Wait, people actually think it does?!

This epi had the best action so far in the season (with the fighting in the beginning) and some long-term problems solved (getting to the Earth King, Aang ALMOST telling Katara how he feels)

Agreed. He's as bad as Tucker on Danny Phantom.

I pity the fool who interrupts ooey-gooey moments.
