Kataang prevailed because it is truly beautiful

I'm surprised the idea of Zutara has escalated this much. I mean, even Zutarians knew it was impossible. I commend them for having this much hope. |

What do you mean impossible if Aang had taken another hour to get Katara out of the earth cell he would have walked in on them having sex |
Again, you persist with this. Could you come up with a different argument? You have no evidence whatsoever that Zuko and Katara would ever have become anything more than friends if they'd been left alone in that cave. Zuko's willingness to go out with Mai suggests that he never felt anything like that for Katara, likewise, there was never any evidence that Katara was affected anymore than having trusted someone and then being betrayed.

Actually, it was very different to Jet. There was no blushing, no obvious attraction, just a few understanding looks and a willingness to try and help him with what she percieved as his problem. Katara does that to everyone. If threatening someone constitutes sexual tension, then ships like Azulaang just gained a lot more credo. How does the fact that she was angry at him when he joined the group mean that she once had romantic feelings for him? The way Katara reacted towards Jet and Zuko was simply the way that she presumably acts towards anyone and everyone who she trusted and was betrayed by.
Yes, she put her hand on Zuko's face. Guess what, she put her hand on Aang's face in exactly the same way one episode later. It's something Katara does during healing sessions.
Aang shipping Zutara in EIP? I must have missed something absolutely massive. The EIP thing was simply Katara bluntly telling Aang that they should concentrate on more important things than romancing. Could her awkwardness possibly have been based off her really wanting iit, and yet knowing that it wasn't the right time? Considering that by the end of the finale she was giving Aang longing looks and making the first move during their kiss, I'd say so.
Katara was going to use her spirit water because she knew it was the only chance of healing Zuko's scar. She wanted to heal Zuko's scar because she sensed that it would be a major step in helping him. The fact that she knew Ba Sing Se was in trouble and they needed allies might also have been a factor.
You claim that the creators were suppressing Zutara. It would appear that there was nothing to suppress.

Possibly because Katara considered stopping Azula from taking over Ba Sing Se to be more important? If they had won that battle, then there would have been all the time in the world for Katara to heal the scar and afterwards they could all have made up and become friends, etc, etc.
And people say Kataang is cheesy.

I was seriously craving avatar tonight (it's night here), and I decided to watch some old eps. After watching a couple, I realised why the ending seemed kind of disjointed as far as relationships were concerned. There weren't enough moments where Katara showed her attraction to Aang! The best moment I saw was in "The Headband", where it was HER who was jealous for once! They should've introduced a couple more scenarios near the end of the series to help balance it out more (there was so much room for that sort of thing when all the kids were at the air temple togehter). ah well...KATAANG RULES! |
