    +From Spacerac

    *From Me

(And, yes, this way is faster and we should drop the kiss argument until one of us can think of something new.)

+No, it was about how a lot of Zutarians like to say, "Katara is Aang's mother" and then used her looking like Zuko's mom as a positive for Zutara. Their reputation includes them using glaring double standards when it comes to Aang (and Mai).

*Ok, I see what you're saying now. With me, I don't think that Zuko ever saw Katara as his mother just because she tried to make his boo-boo all better. First, like I said, he never saw her in the outfit that looked like his mother's. Second, the way he acted when Ozi was talking to him about his mother showed that he would never do anything to hurt her. He risked a huge fight with his dad just to hear what happened to her. If he thought Katara was like his mother, he would never have sided with Azula.

    -------------------------

+Actually they can, otherwise they would have stayed broken up since The Beach. She's not so perpetually bored around Zuko either, as you can see. They relate to each other in all of their positive interaction.

*Except the theme of "The Beach" was all about confessing your true feelings. Mai said she still cared about Zuko, but, correct me if I'm wrong, Zuko never said that he still loved her after the break up. Zuko didn't stay broken up with her because he still had his crush on her at the time and probably still has that crush on her. I'm going to guess that, until that scene with Zuko in a chair and Mai leaning against a wall comes around, Zuko is not going to realize that he isn't really in love with her. For now, though, the only person he feels any level of feelings of love for is Mai (excluding his mother).

    --------------------------

+Of course she is [taking her sweet time], and Aang was also. It's not the time for them to get together just yet.

*Aang didn't take his sweet time. He was trying to get Katara's attention since the first five minutes of "The Warriors Kioshi".

    --------------------------

+Some people just don't catch things like that when it's not on their list of priorities or if they simply don't notice. It can't be any more obvious to Zuko that he better not hurt Aang (he won't) or Katara will kill him. That's definitely a turn-off.

*Not on their list when they don't feel the same way. :p

For now, yes. Zuko does not have romantic feelings for Katara. He does, however, hold her in high regards.

    Allow me to explain.

As I have mentioned before, the only girls who have been allowed to touch Zuko's scar are Mai and Katara. While this doesn't mean that, if he respects you enough to let you touch his scar, he's in love with you, it does show that, in order for him to be in love with you, he has to respect you enough to let you touch his scar.

The other thing is his reactions to everyone in 3-13. When Aang humored him about his firebending, he snapped at him. When Sokka made sarcastic comments out his firebending before AND after he got it back, Zuko yelled at him. Heck, he practically exploded at Sokka before he got it back. However, when Katara made her sarcastic comments about his firebending, both before AND after he got it back, he didn't yell, snap, or do anything negative. He stayed calm and answered the question or continued talking.

Again, I'm not saying that it's love. I'm saying, he holds her in high regards. She still thinks he's a prick

    Kataang.....It confuses me.

Not once has there been so much as one substantial shred of evidence to support Katarra/Aang.

So why dwell on a hopeless cause?

There's been so much more that convinces me to belive Zutara is MEANT TO BE!!1

Or if Mai and Zuko are together. Whichever happens first pretty much proves the other. Which is why I bet both plot points will be delivered at the same time.

personally, I prefer if Kat's feelings, and the maizu ship is resolved ASAP(hoping at end of 315 or middle of 316), so that the last chapters would be 100% concentrated in Aang beating the firelord, and not in who will Katara choose

Amen. Once again you read my mind. I don't want the shipping to drag on until the end. I want Action, comedy, and major (non-romantic) drama... unless it's Suki brainwashed. There's just so many plot points to be savored to keep on with just shipping.

the shipping wars seem to make this show is a romantic drama and indeed we should be grateful that it is not . If this show were a romantic drama Zutara could be a greater chance xD especially that in this type abounds treason, and the stories in which the prince stayed with their peasant xD

the funny part is that this show is not about the love drama like OC or one tree hill. but some people act like this is a show of love and drama

    Zutara represents love and drama.

    It represents logic and irrationality.

It represents right and wrong, good and evil, Lobster and salad.

    Zutara is meant to be.

I know. But Avatar is action, drama, comedy, self reflecting characters that grow up to accomplis their destiny.... and then some romance here an there. Which is why I don't support at this point Zutara as canon. It's faster to "fix" Maiko and Kataang and be done with them, move to better and awesomer aspects of the show, than pull Zutara in 8 episodes. Before (seasons 1 and 2) I didn't care about either ship but now the show is ending and I didn't sign up to watch a soap opera. Give Mai to Zuko, give Katara to Aang, and move on to fight Azula, to reveil the organization of the white lotus, to finding Zuko's mother and reveiling what happened that night, to Aang really mastering fire bending, wasn't Koh suppoused to show up?, where is Suki and is she brainwashed?, fighting the firelord, wasn't there suppoused to be another bad guy coming our way?, and so much more. I'm almost drooling thinking how awesome all the non-romantic plot is and wondering how to fit all of that in just eight episodes.

In my opinion, Zuko is WAY too good for Mai.

Seriously Mai is just a depressed little girl that seriously needs a slap in the face. She deserves no one.

She's hella ooglay btw. I mean look at that hairstyle!!! And I thought all anime girls were hot. Guess not.

Apparently the shipping is going to be resolved in 317, so it's still before the finale.

A user here that frequents Dongbu-Feng said that one of the main speculators at that site said it might be a shipping-related episode. So I'm not entirely sure, but I bet Aang/Katara will be dragged out to the very end.

You don't like Mai? Fine, whatever. But no reason to go mean on the character. Especially because:

    1) Zuko's a dweeb. A hothead. Until recently an ungrateful brat too who tends to be over dramatic, too busy to listen to what uncle Iroh had to say, and was begging to get his butt kicked. How is he so "high and mighty" from Mai? Now, don't get me wrong, the guy has his good point, but also does Mai. Mai has sarcastic wit, is talented, she is calm and collected, poetic, and knows how to move in life. I seriously think that Mai can read Azula perfectly and keep up with her.

    2) If you ask me Zuko needed more than one slap. And that's before the CoD thing. That doesn't devaluated him as a character. It actually adds because you want them to snap out of it so they can grow.

    3) Mai's not ugly!! She's not your type? Fine! But dammit, she's not ugly. Aside from the "old ladies" and poor Meng (I think she's just on an awkward stage) avatar has no really ugly girls. They all have something unique to them. Mai's tall, slender, has my favorite pair of eyes, and her hair! Dude women pay hundreds for the hair that Mai has. Also I love her outfit for some reason. XD

Seriously, this is why I hated the Inuyasha fanbase. This Mai bashing reminded me of the Kikyo bashing. Which was ironic because Kikyo's pretty much Sessoumaru without a dick.

Because the fact that Mai is not sufficiently attractive, popular or charismatic makes not deserve to Zuko.

As mentioned before one of the major aspects of this show is that Mike and Bryan were not influenced by stereotypes romantic leave no rules of society, maybe the protagonist gets the girl or the prince banished stayed with the princess, but the truly interesting and innovative, is that the hero is not a handsome tall man, the prince and princess are not always good and not always pretty, there is a level of complexity in each character its past and present come into play having a in their actions and in their behavior, Maiko and Kataang are present at the show to feed and influence decisively in order to give emotional richness and display a psychological reason in the characters, not just a matter of aesthetics and popularity among fans .

Good point too. I like your answer too. Besides beauty and worth are things that we define individually. I have a friend who most might see her as ugly because she's overweight. I honestly find her too adorable for words, and so does her boyfriend, and if I were a lesbian or a guy I'd tap that. XD I honestly think Mai's pretty in a very classy way. It's her own style.
