Do you people just enjoy seeing me type the same stuff over and over again? If Aang can go into the AS and still have Katara, every problem they faced since CoD was completely meaningless since Aang could have just glowed it up and PWNED everyone and everything. What do you expect to happen? Aang goes AS, finds that he can still have Katara, goes back to the guru and says, "Hey, it turns out I can have the AS and love Katara. Didn't you say I couldn't?" to which the guru replies, "Actually, no. You missinterepretted what I said. All you had to do was give her up for those moments that you were in the AS. I probably should have clarified that, since the fate of the world was hanging in the balance, but I guess it slipped my mind. Oh well, I guess Ba Sing Se falling and your DoBS invasion failing was all for nothing. Have some onion and banana juice." ? As for the other avatars: 1. Kuruk met his fiance long after he became a full avatar. 2. Roku didn't talk to Ta Min for over 12 years while he was becoming a full avatar. Before that, he barely, if ever, talked to her. Remember this quote: "Hey, it's that girl that didn't even know you existed." There's no way that she was his attachment. |
I concede the part about Kuruk not meeting his fiance until after he was the avatar. However, with Roku, she could have been his attachment when he was younger. I doubt it, but it's possible. One sided love does exist. (So do stalkers lol) And no, I'm not saying that Aang can just have Katara, there will be some inner struggle, but I don't belive what people are saying about "Oh, once Aang gives up Katara its for good! He'll never be able to fall in love with her!" Just like with everything about the Avatar, Aang will have to find balance. He'll have to be able to accept the responsibility that he ran away from in the beginning, and measure the lives of his friends versus the fate of the world. If anyone has read "The Sword of Shanarra" than you might notice the similarity between Shea and Aang- they will both have to face the truth to suceed.
