Of course, Toph would beat Katara. No offense, but IMO Katara isn't even that good of a waterbending. I know alot of ppl are gonna try to argue with me on this, but com'on, Katara's good but she's no master, and she didnt have much practice and everyone says she's a waterbending master. Pfft, she wishes. lol

I think Katara is a master, but Toph is just SO much better than her.

Toph would beat Katara. Katara can only win if the happened to be on a metal platform then Toph would be raped up the ass by Katara.

I'd say Katara winning would depend on how much water she has at her disposal. If it happened at the north pole, well, that's obvious. Same goes for a giant metal platform... and fighting in the middle of the ocean.

Anywhere else, Toph would probaby win.

There is no actual earth at the North Pole, so Toph would be realy really screwed.

on a normal everyday location, toph would win but if there was equal amounts of water and earth it could come to a draw or katara would lose.(no offense katara!!)

On even ground where both of them have equal access to their own element, I think Katara might be able to win. She could turn the earth into mud like ppl have said and therefore control it against Toph. But realistically since the group is usually on ground Toph might have an easier time defeating Katara.

Earthbenders control mud, not waterbenders. See "Avatar State" for an example.
