Wait a minute... THAT MEANS NO MORE GANXINGBA. That's it!

Viacom needs to understand this about the episodes: You can only hold episodes for so long. Then as soon as a hacker gets a chance, they'll leak. Now think back to when Day Of The Black Sun first leaked on Youtube. It took like 20 minutes to find an episode that wasn't copyrighted claimed by Viacom. Suprisingly.. it was more easy with Boiling Rock. Especially since we was downloading from all over the places: rapidshare For example.

Now it's my quote to say that these "hackers" have got the balls to be able to do this. And about the fanvids... They're just fanvids!!

All in all, What does Viacom think we are: Sitting Ducks!!

This has been a spoken truth to you by Miroku78.

So if they win no more abridged series or AMV's? Viacom's gone crazy if they're upset about things like that.

No, but they aren't making money either, and they're a bunch of stingy son of a guns.

I hope the court does the right thing. I mean what about fair use? Does this mean if I wanted to post a review of a new episode with clips I can't do that now? That's some ol' BS.

Just goes to show "Those who do not know the past are doomed to repeat it" This sort of thing has happened before in the Star Trek community. There was a bunch of fan-stuff done and paramount tried to sue those fans. The fans got cheesed off big time and paramount suffered so they backed down.

Lesson: don't tick off the people that buy your merchandise.

I know i got a kick out of it.... There is no copyright fair use laws regarding Fanfiction and whatnot for most shows there's just this unspoken truse between The creator and the fans for the most part, if we aren't selling our fan stuff they won't bother us for it. But it gets interesting if a particular show is reeeaaaally popular.

Miroku's right. If we want to continue doing fan stuff we have to do the same thing those Trekkies did.

They don't like not earning money on fan-stuff? Let's see how they like a boycott.

But I don't get it. You're richer than around what, 70% of the world? Why do you need more money? You have enough RIGHT THERE IN YOUR FACE so to speak.

Just like to add, in order for something to be fair use in copyright law sertain requirments are to be considered.

    1. It must not compete with the origional material.

    2. it could be a comment on the origional (Like a parody, or something educational) Which means the abridged series are farely safe and any vid that makes you laugh.

    3. the amount of material used is under consideration

    4. what kind or medium of work is being made.
