Avatar: The Last Airbender: Do You Think Katara Is Annoying?

Katara IS perfect. Watch a few episodes of Smallville and do a character study of Lana Lang. A perfect character is always right, only angered by righteous fury and freaks out because anyone else would in her shoes (just not as articulately and not win every arguement by sheer improbable grace). She's not a realistic character. She's a girl power, timid yet strong, always happy, but cries and feels too much, I win every fight, but lose every day in my heart and need someone to save me, but I fight my own battles booyaka kind of girl. She's annoying like a screaming little baby being rubbed on a chalkboard. She's on my list of hated things just between blue cheese and your mom. You can have great female characters that aren't "perfect" and don't shoot guns and bench press. A good example is X-Files' Scully or Angel's Cordelia (after she gains a few dimensions).

Sorry if I'm a little opinionated on this, but if you make a thread I will rant. Apologies.

I've watched "Lake Laogai" on Turbonick (oh the shame) and she was flipping p*ss*d over Jet. She attacked him with the intent to kill or hurt. I can understand her anger but it was WAY out of character.

I don't really like her but when you get down to it there would be no avatar without her. I mean the Kataang, Zutara and jetara would have no one to get all fanatic over

She is portrayed in such a way that you have to like her and hate her at the same time. I especially like her fight scenes, though her overall personality is a tad bit annoying.

Yeah I am a Katara fan(acting mature here) and escpecially of her fight scenes. The only thing that I don't understand is that why do you people hate her(note, no offense here.) Like I mean she's just a person and everyone makes mistakes. If you think of something bad about someone think about something good. For example, the episode the Waterbending Scroll(bad) and the episode Imprisoned,(good). Well thats my opinion since usually I really yell out at Katara bashers, but this board is so mature so I will keep it this way.

Katara is NOT perfect.?? She has faults and made bad decisions and can be a bit hot-headed like most folks.?? Like many women, she's attracted to bad boys (Jet), is oblivious to the fact that Aang is very much attracted to her, and can actually be considered B**chy at times.

I understand though that due to the HUGE number of fans of Avatar, her character can be annoying to some individuals.?? As they say, you can't please 'em all!

But I for one don't find Katara annoying.??

I think she is very annoying, she is one of my least favorite characters. But there has to be someone on the show who I can't stand. It wouldn't be a good show if someone liked everybody. I don't like people who are nothing like me and she is just nothing like me so i don't like her. But i agree. Avatar wouldn't be??as good??without her.

As far as i'm concerned Katara is sometimes annoying, but I for one respect her power as a bender. So she is entitled to be annoying sometimes.
