Doesn't look like something any air bender could do

And it is Aang alright, not Yangchen. Yangchen. Yangchen. It does sound funny. It forces my face into some creepy smile everytime I try to pronounce it. Yangchen.

*facepalm* Watch it @ 8 min. into the show. Geez. It supports "getting rid of air and killing all firebenders" theory made by me.

Doesn't this bite? Nick is obviously holding back Avatar because it couldn't beat Hannah Montana. But now, thanks to the photoshoot on Vanity Fair, Hannah is losing viewers. Nick could of course enegage in brilliant counterprogramming by showing this wholesome show.

    Great episode, by the way.

*adopts Tennessee accent* "Hey y'all, I'm Hannah Montana! I think I'm so great cause I like to pose half-naked on Vanity Fair, and since I sing "Nobody's Perfect", it's ok for 15 year olds to do what I did."=what a great message to send to our generation. Geez.

Oh, yeah, that is advanced airbending.

bodybender: Um, I think Disney shows don't have any effect on Nick shows.

Only thing I didn't like was the addition of Chit Sang. We have plenty of characters already, and some of them are barely used and just for sight. Other then that, fabulous episode. Used Mai and Ty Lee to a major advantage and left me wondering "What of them?" That's a good thing. It was good to take Mai's reaction to Zuko's leaving and not place it in the finale and potentially bury it under other things.

well if people had any sense they would realize that a firebending flying should be quite normal i mean seriosly. why is azula the ONLY firebender that ive seen tht used her firebendin to fly? freakin dumbarses

one thing i hat baout benders and the fact that they are so stupid and pimitive. how is is that a 12 yr old master earthbender discovered metalbending at the end of season . after ALL THOSE YEARS TOO. and how did it take an old crazed woman to realize u can make water from plants, moisture in the air, and control peoples bodies? DUH. 90% of people are made up of liquids. and airbenders, wth were they dopin when the firebenders attacked? couldnt they have made like hurricanes and tornadoes and stuf? so how in the world was the fire nation able to get to them? not to mention u literally have to be able to fly to even get there. well thats enough of my ranting for now

real life physics + Avatar = complete confusion Back to the current topic: Flying with firebending is unusual. Everyone expects airbenders to fly, but firebenders?! Azula's skill is something that will catch you off guard.

Also, metalbending isn't as easy as it seems. Metal is purified earth, so it takes the very best earthbenders to sense the "earhly" elements in the metal. People have probably thought about it, but were not skilled enough to do it. BTW, Toph had not been a master of earthbending for 12 years. She's twelve years old now (-_-). Plus, she never really needed metalbending until the end of season two.

Why do you think all waterbenders should know that you can bend plants? At the North and South poles, there isn't much of a need for plants to bend since you would be surrounded by water and ice. Most waterbenders probably never needed the skill, so it was never thought about. Notice the waterbenders who did not live at the poles knew about plant bending. They needed to know the about plant bending in case there isn't a large supply of water around (unlike the poles where there is enough water always). And bloodbending was simply not thought about. Did you think about bloodbending before it was mentioned? It took a bit of thought to realize that you can bend humans because it isn't ordinary to think about waterbending in that way.

The air nomads were ambushed. The fire nation probably had thousands of soldiers. Plus, there were mostly kids at the air temple (as far as we know). The air nomads weren't going to win a fight under those circumstances. Plain and simple. And did you notice that there were a lot of fire nation skeletons and helmets lying around at the Southern Air Temple? You can infer that the airbenders did indeed defend themselves.

It wasn't that hard for fire nation soldiers to get to the air temples once they found out where they were. The air temples were on mountains. You can climb mountains if you have the right equipment. Problem solved.

I hate metalbending. It doesn't make any sense at all. The show mentions that metal is purified earth. As far as I know, rocks and sand are mostly made out of carbon, while a pure metal doesn't contain any carbon at all. I just can't stand it that even though metal and earth are entirely different, bending them is still called earthbending

It makes perfect sense. You have to understand how metal is forged. Most metals are taken from ores, which are clumps of the metal with earth embeded in it. Then the metal undergoes a purification process in which the earthen impurities are removed from it. However, the process is not perfect, and some earthen impurities get left behind. What Toph bends are these earth particles, not the metal itself. The metal moves because the earth particles are too embeded to be extracted by earthbending. So yes, metalbending basicaly is earthbending.
yeah what u said and to the person that responded me; good points but yes ive been thinking about bloodbending b4 it was mentioned weird yes but ive thought about it alo tand wondered why it took so long to happen. and omg i coim[leyely 4got about those fire nation skeletons but im still confuzzled on how in the world they were abl to wipe a whole air bending nation @_@ and when i said firebending to fly shopuldnt be unusual i mean people like heatb;last form ben 10, and that flame guy from fantastic four. sure they're surrunded by fire which makes it easier but still im sure that SOMEONE has to have thought of it b4. and i know she isnt a masetr eartnhbender i was just woderinw hy it took a 12 yr old master bender to discover it when so many others b4 her have also been trapped in metal cages. and what about all those water benders that travel around, i mean honestly im sure SOMEONE has to have thought of bending in plants?(other than those swamp guys and crazy old woman lol)
Who says they haven't? Katara hasn't met any Waterbenders besides the tradition-obssessed Northern Waterbenders who stayed in their tribe until after Season 1, the Swampbenders, and that crazy Hama woman.
dee duck says they havent. and if i may quote him/her/it word by word:

Why do you think all waterbenders should know that you can bend plants? At the North and South poles, there isn't much of a need for plants to bend since you would be surrounded by water and ice. Most waterbenders probably never needed the skill, so it was never thought about.

I didn't say they didn't know about it. I'm saying it is pointless for the waterbenders at the poles to know how to plant bend since they are surrounded by water. BTW: The Fantastic Four and Ben 10 are completely different ideas from Avatar. Of course people in the Avatar world don't know about using fire to fly. They don't watch cartoons! We don't know if Toph is the only metalbender. All we know is that she is one of very few.
well she might be one of the few but shes the only one ever shown doin it :\
