Oh yes, a spinoff would be quite lovely. I just believe that the gaang's adventure has ended. But I would sell my liver to see what they are like when they are older! |

If avatar keeps getting more and more new episodes, it'll go the way of pokemon. Dull and aimed for kids who can't count passed 20. If you compare episodes from the first season i.e. the lost episodes to the new episodes you'll see exactly what will happen to avatar. (I just saved this post from being, off-topic material) |

I want a new series focusing on the first Avatar. I want to see why the Avatar was created, and how the world adjusted to it. |

This, or the story of what happens to Azula. I know the first is more likely, but the latter is definitely the one that wins my vote.
Seriously though, perhaps the single biggest problem of a new series, spin-off or otherwise, is the problem of a villain. Try as they might, I don't think that even Bryke and the writers will ever be able to reproduce the work of art that was Azula's character. The best measure for heroes is who their enemies are, and the fact is that Azula was (in my humble, crazed opinion) the best villain ever to terrorize heroes of an epic legend since Darth Vader. Actually, strike that - for me at least Azula exceeds Darth vader in so many ways that the Dark Lord of the Sith is easily put in the shade.

You're right. You can't match azula and ozai. |

I agree that there should not be a season four telling the story of further adventures of the gaang. But I am all for a new series with new characters that explores parts of the Avatar world that we have not yet visited. The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars (the novels, not the new movies) stand out as shining examples of how franchises can continue thrive, as long as they stick to the same world that the fans love, but give it a new story. I posted about this on Datruth's thread, so you can read about that there. I think we should scrap this petition and come up with a new one for a different series set in the Avatar world. Either way though, we'll have to wait for a while because Bryke have confirmed that they won't be doing anything Avatar related until after the movies. And speaking of the movies, could everyone please stop complaining about how bad they're going to be?!!! Granted, it's going to be tricky to pull it off, but Bryke are going to be working on the movies, and I have faith in the fact that if it is possible for the movies to work, they will find a way. Far from being the "final nail in the coffin", these movies could well be what saves Avatar from the grave. If they do well financially, I find it almost impossible to believe that the original series won't be brought back in some way, either with re-airings of the original episodes, or possibly the creation of a new series, or mabye even a series of novelizations. Who knows? Certainly not you or I. So lets just cross our fingers and hope for the best. |
Good points about the petition, but how about a petition for an epilogue? One new episode would be easier to make than several new ones. And about the movie, I am crossing my fingers, but as long as Shyamalan is the director (and possibly the writer and producer) I have cause to fear for the movies.

I may have met someone who surpasses my love for Azula. |
Merely "surpasses"?
Don't flatter yourself. In the game of love for Azula, you were never even a player
(cookies if you get the reference, which you probably will).

Uh... good point - this is starting to go a bit off topic.

so, anyone have a reason that they should/should not continue season four??? because otherwise this thread will be locked. they're locking threads up like crazy, because there are so many question threads that could've saved space by going to the ask a question, get an answer by tomtitan. |
