Hmmm...nope not really...it has a "war" feel to it.

FN tanks look like Japanese tanks. (darn my inability to post pics and links)

    Just google "Japanese tank" images.

Trust me... you'll see... you'll all see...

That's insane! Just because the Allies destroyed three empires and blamed the war entirely on Germany and essentially destroyed its economy and military, not to mention failed to acknowledge Italy and Japan well in creation of the Treaty of Versaille, and brought about the Great Depression, and left France ravaged and burned, doesn't mean that it caused WWII.
    You forgot the Bolsheveik Revolution.

How did that cause World War I, in turn, cause World War II?

Hitler was a soldier in WW1, for Germany duh.

Anywho, he blamed Germany's loss on the so-called "SubHumans" and the Commies.

He took power, decided to "win WW1 for Germany" and that lead to WW2.

Japan was a seperate issue and they were just imperialistic.

Well, he would have blamed the allies whether or not Russia became communist. I think the way the Bolshevik Revolution affected WWII is that it changed Russia's govt., which in turn affected the way Russia dealt with Hitler Remember they had an alliance for a short time before Hitler betrayed it.

Lesson of the day: don't trust Hitler he'll back stab you and send millions of armed forces to invade your country.

He's alive btw I hold a rifle with me all the time and I am in constant vigillance of his presence plus the FBI (CP matter). Every night I fear h'll come get me. I'll get him one day...

I really can't believe some of the people on this thread.

'Sure Hitler slaughtered millions of people, but there are other qualities about him that I really like'.

    Seriously, what the crap?

Hitler was one of the most evil men who ever lived. Along with Atilla the Hun, Gengis Khan, Stalin and several others this man was up there with the most evil of the evil.

Have any of you ever been to Auschwitz? I have. You'd change your opinions on this 'admirable man' if you went there.

I'll say it. I am Jewish. Therefore it was my ancestors who were killed by this monster. On the database in Auschwitz there are hundreds of people with my family name listed as killed in the holocaust.

Hitler is now known to have been very kind to the people around him, he was a vegetarian, he encouraged his officers to quit smoking. Yes, this is all good. But at the same time this man is responsible for attempted genocide, mass-murder on an unprecedented scale, and one of the largest wars in human history. Not admirable qualities.

People who admire Hitler to be perfectly honest, sicken me to the core.

Khalid, you say you admire Hitler You also say you're a Muslim. You should know that if you met Hitler he would kill you without a second thought. It wasn't just the Jews who Hitler hated, it was anyone from any race but his own. Including you. An admiration of Hitler is truly idiotic, as that man certainly doesn't admire you.

I deplore WWII and all involved with it on the side of the Axis, however, I also LOVE the Nazi uniforms for their fine lines, sharp features, and creative use of the red/black/silver or white color schemes.

Evil shouldn't get in the way of good design sense!

    On-topic:

Besides Zhao's speech in The Blue Spirit, which ids based on Hitler it's not based on WWII.

However, it is possible to make a parallel between the Fire Nation and the Nazis. Genocide, nationalism, warmongering, autocracy, all common traits between Nazi Germany and the present day Fire Nation.

My guess is antisemitism, but people are too afraid to admit it. There are a lot of stupid people out there who don't realise that it wasn't just the Jews who Hitler persecuted, and that they're just as much of a target as us.

As a history teacher of mine once said: "Hitler's only redeeming quality was he brought a world out of economic depression."

This is true once you think about it. If Germany hadn't started the war by attacking France, the Allies wouldn't have had a need to produce a massive military to counter the attack. The war is what brought America and many other nations out of the Great Depression. So a mad man's greed and evil desire esentially ended the depression at the cost of starting a global war that brought about the start of the post-modern society we know today.

It's also sickening when you think about it: a war can cure or hurt a nation's economy. In context of the show, the Fire Nation is certainly prospering at the spoils of war.
