Avatar inspired by World War II?

Was avatar inspired by WWII?

    We know that a man named Hitler started WWII because he wanted world domonation right? So he sent his Nozi people into Poland for the first step to World Domination. It eventually spread to the whole world because of all of the victories. Then when the Japenesse attacked Pearl Harbor the Americans came in and so on. In the Avatar world war there are also three nations united, (one which was defeated) and they had one goal which was to defeat the firenation capital and unite the four nations. Maybe Ozai will blow him self up like hitler and then the war will end. What do you think? Avatar WW and WWII have so much in common!

    Alot of wars involve attacking people and trying to take places over. It isn't unique to the world wars.

    Alot of people tried too.

    Napoleon, Alexander the Great, King Phillip II, etc.

    World Domination is by not that uncommon a goal.

    Well, Avatar was inspired by many things. Some elements from many historic wars are squeezed into many parts of avatar. So to answer your question... Yes. Avatar was probably inspired by World War II, but it isn't exclusive to just that one war.

    like what? i am no Nazi, and i only like him cause he is hungry for power. one man changed the world, he did horrible things, no doubt about it, but i like that he knew how to get what he wanted. he is a genious and the biggest idiot i know

    Look people! Hitler was evil and if it wasn't for the nations that united together we would all most likely be dead depending on how old we are! *That is NOT a good thing*

    I fail to see how someone can learn about Hitler and WW2 invasion dates and think that Hitler had Nozis. I can't even type that word without laughing, because I was so sure it was a simple typo until your above post. It's Nazis, dude. Nazi. Nazis. My 6 year old brother know they're called Nazis. And yes, he can spell it too.

    The fire nation is japan, Earth kingdom china, Large part of earth kingdom/china are taken over by firenation/japan. THe air nomads and watertribes are probably other asian countries in WW2 (korea, manchuria, philllipines, etc.)

    Jeez, this thread is one giant FAIL.
    I bet most of you guys don't even know what really happened...

    But, you can go and learn this by watching a very good movie: Der Untergang. Seriously, the movie is really intense, and they have made it as truthfull as they could. I think they've accomplished that goal.
