    It occurs that an excellent straight adaptation of another entertainment medium has occurred before. Sin City, directed by Robert Rodriguez.


    For those who don't know Sin City was a practical translation of a comic book to movie format that ranks very high up in my movie collection. I almost wish Rodriguez would have made this Avatar movie, but the reason Sin City was done so well was because Rodriguez was a huge fan of the subject matter.


    That gives me hope that since Shymalan is a supposed fan it could turn out as well.

    The movie theater I live near has a 3D cardboard movie poster/display thing of The Last Airbender! It was pretty awesome standing next to a life size "Aang" and "Zuko"! I think this can classify as one of the best days in my avatarian life...

    Its greatly irking me, since apparently there are changes in how 'Aang,' 'Avatar,' 'Sokka,' and 'Iroh' are pronounced ..... Apparently its to maintain the ethnic and cultural reality and stick to the true pronounciation.... Is this bothering anyone else?

    Just my opinion..but I think that is perfectly fine...pretty awesome in fact...

    How dare they mispronounce names from other cultures that were mispronounced purpously to make them more american in the cartoon! wait...

    Yeah, its true that the names were changed to American versions to make them easier to pronounce. But I'd rather that they stay the same in the movie. Its based on the show, after all and I just think they should keep things like that the same since thats how fans are used to pronouncing it.

    *shrug* i pronounce it Soh-kah, Ah-ng, kah-tah-rah and all that since it's how it was pronounced most of the time here.

    Still, the point is that the show is American. Sure, the names were taken from other cultures (as most "American" stuff is), but the show itself is American, so it ought to use the American pronunciation of the names.

    It would be like watching another culture name Pugsley's sister after that culture's spelling of Wednesday when the quenessential first freaky family is American in origin (specifically Westfield New Jersey, from whence creator Charles Addams was born).



    What I am saying is that it is my opinion that this film (The Last Air Bender) should stick to the culture that it is taking its inspiration from, in this case, the American cartoon series.

    One, Zhao was not in the trailer, that was Ozai. Second, No, it was done in secret for about a year and they have been showing the filmmakers and M Night some test conversions and theya apparently liked it so they chose to do a full conversion. In addition, they said that the movie was purposely filmed to take advantage of the conversion, so it will look good, not like clash of the titans, which was horrible.

    Best trailer yet! Appa looked okay and the acting isn't bad. This looks like it could be compared to that Percy Jackson movie in its success if not better..

    It looks pretty good. Love how the ice bending and Appa look. The ZukoxAang fight near the end looks good too. Not sure about the blue spirit though he looks wierd

    yeah...he has WAY too much hair....its almost as if zuko from the end of season 3 cut off his hair, hair sprayed it till it was stiff..and glue it on to the bluespirit mask...
    They should have made him with a ponytail just to make up for zuko's lack of ponytail...
