    "

I was hearing over at imdb.com that the movie might be PG.

My question is, Is this true?

And how would you feel if the movie turned out to really be PG?
    "

The movie hasn't even been casted yet, let alone filmed. There is no way of knowing.

It just means they will try and make it PG. But its the rating committee and not the filmmakers that ultimately decides the rating so there is no way we could ever know.

That's true as well. But I don't think that by making the movie PG-13 we'll have an automatic win. The Avatar series is targeted for a younger audience and it's epic, so why shouldn't the movie be?

Alright people, he doesn't MAKE it Pg-13 or R or PG or G. He just makes the movie and someone else decides the rating.

You have to. I doubt the people who made movies like Saw or The Hills Have Eyes were expecting to PG ratings. And so M. Night knows what content will or won't be allowed for whatever rating he's shooting for.

Gah, I feel like I'm rambling a bit.

In all honesty, I hope that we can achieve something close to the Harry Potter movies. Although they were a let down to the readers, it considerably promoted the whole entire series. HP became infinitely more popular after the movies. I can take a few holes in the plot line and some missing character development if it means the series will be promoted

Yah thats true but if the movie is genuinly good and flows well like the avatar series did, then it would draw more people into the series than an ok movie would.

    FireLordZuko93 wrote:

Yes they could aim for a particular rating but whether they get it is an entirely different matter, because its a different organisation, I believe the organisation that deals with censorships in a particular country, that issues the ratings.

It's hard to say what will happen with the first movie, but I feel that the second one will definitely be at least PG-13. Between the Brainwashing, Iroh and Aang being burned on-screen by Azula, jet's death and the many other things that we were surprised to see that will probably be jazzed up somewhat, I think that that one will definitely be a notch or tweo above the first one graphically.

Let me just set this straight. M.Night is making the movie PG!!!!!!! He has to because Avatar is from Nick, which the network is suppose to be family friendly. He just said it will be hard for him making it PG because it's his first one he'll ever make!!!

don't know where it is anymore (it was kinda long ago. i don't save stuff like that). but i did find this article. and yes, it is a reliable source. btw its only common sense that this movie has to be PG (as much as i really don't want it to be). you don't see network shows-turned-into-movies that change their intended audience or the overall aspect of it (it's frickin' Nick!). Take Sex and the City for example, their intended audience carried on to the big screen. and isn't hannah monatana doing the same? some people get so caught up in the hype that sometimes you drift can from reality.

Harry Potter is a children's series and they've had PG-13 movies. I know more kids ages 7-10 who read that then people 11+. So, why can't this be PG-13? I don't think it will, but you can't completely dismiss the possibility.
