Harry Potter is a children's series and they've had PG-13 movies. I know more kids ages 7-10 who read that then people 11+. So, why can't this be PG-13? I don't think it will, but you can't completely dismiss the possibility. |
Season 2 was darker than season 3.
Anyway,
you always have to follow the white rabbits foot

HP has grown into PG13 because the characters grew up and plots thicken. its very possible that the second part to the last movie will be rated R. and maybe the last ATLA movie will become PG13 since its so dramatic. but first they have to start slow. |

Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be a disgusting film which kills the show (like all other live action movies based off books [Harry Potter, etc, etc] or anime [death note, dragonball Z, naruto, etc] or games [resident evil])? |
Harry Potter movies aren't bad. They just have to cut a lot of stuff out, making the books more enjoyable. Just because the book is better doesn't mean the movie sucks.
Also a good amount of movies nowadays are adaptations of books or old cartoons. You probably see a majority of them without realising they're adaptations. Godfather, Lord of the Rings, Forest Gump. All originally novels.
Bottom line: adaptations aren't terrible just because they're adaptations. If they're bad, it's probably because the authors or original creators want some quick cash so badly they sell their property to the 1st offer, which is often a producer or director with little to no respect for the source material and only care about making money and telling their version of the story without any input from said creators...kind of like most fanfics. Luckily, Manoj Nelliyattu (I'm so clever) has already stated he loves the show and is working closely with the creators.
And when did Naruto get a live-action movie?

if you think about it anime is like one big long animated movie for manga (not live action) but its also kind of the oposite in a way like i read the naruto manga since i dont have cartoon network. the anime adds ALOT of stuff that is really unimportant. (fillers)
im sure the avatar movie will be awesome some of you guys are getting to pesimistic about this. just think how the waterbending will look.
