You guys have to remember most of the criticism he endures is for his WRITING, not for his producing or directing. Bryke will be there to help with the writing, so we've got nothing to worry about.

He is an awesome Director, and since the dude who did King Kong is doing the cinematography it will look amazingly beautiful

don't know where it is anymore (it was kinda long ago. i don't save stuff like that). but i did find this article. and yes, it is a reliable source. btw its only common sense that this movie has to be PG (as much as i really don't want it to be). you don't see network shows-turned-into-movies that change their intended audience or the overall aspect of it (it's frickin' Nick!). Take Sex and the City for example, their intended audience carried on to the big screen. and isn't hannah monatana doing the same? some people get so caught up in the hype that sometimes you drift can from reality.

Harry Potter is a children's series and they've had PG-13 movies. I know more kids ages 7-10 who read that then people 11+. So, why can't this be PG-13? I don't think it will, but you can't completely dismiss the possibility.

the second part of the seventh film who knows will be rated R

HP has grown into PG13 because the characters grew up and plots thicken. its very possible that the second part to the last movie will be rated R. and maybe the last ATLA movie will become PG13 since its so dramatic. but first they have to start slow.

Season 2 was darker than season 3.

    Anyway,

you always have to follow the white rabbits foot

Ok i guess So why are we so carring about ratings. I mean it's not like m night is going dumb down the film It's not going to be rated g. Now if he makes the film like how dark 300 was then we might have a problem

Yeah, a film being dark =/= good and vice versa. My fear is that Nick will sugarcoat it... I know, I know, they didnt sugarcoat the series, but this is a mainstream film with commercials that will be seen by millions. They dont want to hamper their image by showing a dark film.

All because M. Night is aiming for a PG rating doesn't mean it will magically come true. He even thinks it'll be hard to achieve that goal.

Oh, I don't mind either way as well. But it's just a lot of people won't open their mind to the possibilities.

Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be a disgusting film which kills the show (like all other live action movies based off books [Harry Potter, etc, etc] or anime [death note, dragonball Z, naruto, etc] or games [resident evil])?

Harry Potter movies aren't bad. They just have to cut a lot of stuff out, making the books more enjoyable. Just because the book is better doesn't mean the movie sucks.

Also a good amount of movies nowadays are adaptations of books or old cartoons. You probably see a majority of them without realising they're adaptations. Godfather, Lord of the Rings, Forest Gump. All originally novels.

Bottom line: adaptations aren't terrible just because they're adaptations. If they're bad, it's probably because the authors or original creators want some quick cash so badly they sell their property to the 1st offer, which is often a producer or director with little to no respect for the source material and only care about making money and telling their version of the story without any input from said creators...kind of like most fanfics. Luckily, Manoj Nelliyattu (I'm so clever) has already stated he loves the show and is working closely with the creators.

And when did Naruto get a live-action movie?

Because you're a pessimistic loser It's very easy to jump to that conclusion because we're all so used to the cartoon forms of our heroes. But, take the high road, and be more optimistic.

I don't care about the rating either. I just like to debate with people But I'm pretty sure the film won't suck. Bryke will be there. How could it suck?

The rating isn't important, movies from all ratings have been both good and bad. And just because it's an adaption doesn't mean it will suck, not all adaptions suck, and if they do suck, it's usually because the creators of the film didn't keep it enough like its regular counterpart and put in too many of their own ideas in which don't necessarily please anyone else but themselves. So as long as this movie stays along with the show and not too many other ideas are thrown in, it will be good.

There's no Naruto movie, but there is a Dragonball movie coming out next year. I've been learning about the movie for a while, and the Dragonball movie looks okay, most people I know bash the film, one of my friends wants to email the director to curse him for his idea of the movie, but I will withhold further judgment till a trailer comes, and withhold final judgment of the Dragonball movie until it comes out April 10th. The Avatar movie, I feel will be good if they don't throw in too many other ideas and keep it as close to the show as possible. That is the key to making an adaption good - keep it as close to the base whether it's a TV show, book, or comic, and don't try to throw in too many of your own ideas, because not everyone will like something just because you do, such as focusing more on a certain relationship that isn't very significant in the base material of adaption, or something else.

if you think about it anime is like one big long animated movie for manga (not live action) but its also kind of the oposite in a way like i read the naruto manga since i dont have cartoon network. the anime adds ALOT of stuff that is really unimportant. (fillers)

im sure the avatar movie will be awesome some of you guys are getting to pesimistic about this. just think how the waterbending will look.
