LMAO. Well, I always thought that Kataang was a weird pairing since Aang is 2 years younger than her in the series. (oops Zutaraness showing LOL) I don't see what the problem is if Katara (live action) is 3-4 years older than Aang's live action actor.... It makes sense if M. Night will be keeping his chracters at a close age range as the orginal series.
And yes, I do agree that Kilcher won't age much b/c she's already gone through most of those oh-so-fun awkward teen years. The younger cast still have to go through puberty so you'll see a much bigger difference in their looks than someone who's already past that. People do tend to look the same for a good while after the teens. Plus, Kilcher looks like she'll just age gracefully anyway.

Aang was 12 at the start but 13 (source-Book 4: Air; Chapter 1: Forbidden Love) by the end, so that means he had a B-day somewhere in the series.
But like I've been saying, I think they're going to downplay ages since people notice aging after 6 years and this story is supposed to take place within a year.

But I can see where Latinas or even Filipinas can play Katara. Latinas do have Native American blood in them (when the Spanish/French/Portuguese mixed with the indigenous ppl of the Americas) and those ancestors of the native americans DID cross the Bering Straight from Asia and migrated downwards. So Latinas could work.... And so could Filipinas (I'm one!) since they are also a mix of Chinese, Taiwanese, Spanish, Malay, Arabic and they do have that natural tan (that's also why people either think I'm latina or native american LOL) *Sorry for the mini history lesson here*

btw m.night is only going to film the first movie, he wants a different director to do the other two.

Hey i found an article about the movie, i don't know how relevant it is, but i found it interesting and decided to share it with you all. It says he plans to shoot the first movie in Greenland and Vietna. If thats true i think i'll be awesome
