    not sure about the year but the name can't be a real issue, Nick should have the legal film rights to the name...

    I beleive JC called 1st dibs on the title "AVATAR". Doesn't realy matter. They can still go with something like "The Last Airbender". All though it won't quite be the same.

    I hope it is 2009, i'm quite excited to see it! ^_^ Well... considering it isn't all taken in the wrong direction with horrible actors and straying really far from the storyline...

    *shrugs* Even if it is, if I see a trailer for it unexpectedly in theaters, i'm going to have a hard time not screaming with joy XD

    There is no released date as of yet as the shooting will start mid-2008 the other Avatar (Cameron) will be released 18 December 2009 (USA).

    After reading all the info I could find on this movie, my questions are still harder than the usual.

    Like, anyone want to take a wild guess as to who they could get to play Toph?

    Or Iroh?

    Or Ty Lee?

    Befoe there is any confusion, no, I don't know anything. Just making conversation.

    Characters like Toph and Ty Lee, they are not going to be in the first movie. The first movie is season 1, so just season 1 characters.

    Ohh, yes, that's right, I forgot about that XD Shoot. Toph is one of my favorite characters, I was looking forward to who was playing her role XD

    i just saw the spiderwick chronicles. it was made by nickelodeon movies so naturally i was using that to predict how avatar will turn out.
    it was pretty good, it had pretty decent special effects and CGI, and it was fairly well made.
    naturally we can assume that avatar will be similar, because it's nick movies. so with the superior writing skills of a prolific hollywood director and MDD and BK, mixed with the decent CGI that nick movies can provide, i have high hopes for the avatar movie.
    also, the girl in the movie would make a great katara.

    wow u just saw the movie too? i know it's a bit off-topic but man i hated the ending.. it was so anti-climatic.. i mean i know it's nick and all but still with all that suspense, i expected a more decent ending. thankfully avatar wouldn't suffer from that..
