Creative Artists Agency is a real company. You can always try calling them if you have serious concerns about this being a hoax.

    "Dear prospective actor/actress,

Thanks for your interest in the Avatar: The Last Airbender auditions.
There is only one method of auditioning - sending (attaching) resumes with an image (and preferably video footage audtion) via e-mail. Documents NOT attached will NOT be accepted!
If you choose to send your resume you will be notified of the decision and an invitation to attend the closed casting calls later in November.
All U.S citizens as well as International prospectives are invited to participate, however, participants must think realistically as Auditions will take place in Los Angeles, California.

Only e-mails with the subject line Resume in verbatim will be open, checked, and replied.

    News regarding specific character auditions:

There's has been constant awareness and enquires regarding the current nature of the production. Scriptwriting is in pre-production stage, while a few actors/actresses have indeed already been attached for certain roles including Aang, Katara, and Sokka. However, since these roles are currently in the negotiation stage, it is not guranteed. We encourage you all to audition despite these negotiations.

    News regarding Agents:

As the film seeks to highlight new talent, an agent is not required, however, the attainment of one could possibly higher your success. No Guarentee! Overall, the concept of representation will not hinder your chances.

    News regarding pre-requisite skills:

Although dexterity within specific or branched fields of Martial Arts would be beneficial and advantageous in the filming process, prior skills besides fluent English is not required.

    News regarding Audition Tapes:

As we seek to highlight new talent, it is recommended that the audition tapes be crafted with creativity and spontaneity. There are no established guidelines to follow by. Give us your details, act out your personality, and the rest will flow.

    News regarding filming locations:

Filming for the adaptation will be shot in New Zealand, China, Rome, and the United States. These locations have not yet been fully confirmed.

    Thanks for your interest.

    Regards,

    Kevin Huvane
    Talent Agent
    Creative Artists Agency

Disclaimer: Creative Artists Agency and its associates have the rights to neglect any participant and thereon, disclose he/she entirely from the casting selections. Only material received through the prescribed e-mail will be accepted; any enquires or auditioning-related questions, will be completely disregarded by CAA and its associates. Material sent directly to CAA by post, fax, or official e-mail, will be considered as unsolicited. The final date to send in your resumes is Friday, 3rd October, 2008.
    "

well this doesn't seem very authentic to me, due to the various spelling errors. ("audtion, guranteed, guarentee"?) Would a professional casting agency make those kinds of mistakes? I don't know, but what does everyone else think? What about you, DrAvatar? OR BETTER YET, what about you, oh wise one?
I personally don't believe this is real. I'm just good at giving advice. Hehee.

M Night Shyamalan is represented by CAA and Kevin Huvane is a real person. The only evidence that this could be fake are a few spelling errors but its still not likely.

My two cents on how book 1 in movie form could be structured:

    Critical story elements:

-Aang being found in the ice.

-Aang speaking with Roku for the first time and learning about the comet.

-Aang and Zuko's past, like from the storm episode.

-The events at the north pole.

And of course throughout all this they need to develop the characters while Zuko frantically chases Aang from the south to the north pole.

Stuff that might be important (especially to later books):

-Introduction of minor characters (like Suki), who even though we don't see them often, they are part of all three books.

-Aangs first encounter with firebending and its effects on him.

It'll be interesting to see how it's done in the end, particularly how they show that time has been spent travelling, etc.

If the movie's gonna be like this, we might be looking at something like The Lord of the Rings (in terms of length and material and such) HAPPY DANCE!!!!

    ................happy dance?

HE said some of it would be shot on Soundstage there is no way you can build an entire North Pole city. M.Night Shyamalan said that they would be shooting on Location and the reply said and in the United States!

Is anyone else worried here except me? Lord of the Rings, huh? Well, here is what I know:

    1. M. Night Shyamalan, director of such stinkers as "The Village" and "Lady in the Water", who seems to have lost his ability to make a good film, is directing this movie and calling all the shots.

    2. MTV films and NICK studios, two of the worst studios in existence (and directs opposites in the movies they usually make, I might add) are working TOGETHER to make this movie.

    3. Sokka is rumored to be played by a white actor.

    I fear for this movie.

It's ok. Since it's going to be Live-Action and not true to the series' animated initial run, if it bites I can just ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist, and it will be very easy to do so.

Who doesn't? There can be three stages for this movie:
    1. Excellent= Portrays the charcaters beautifully, tells the story well, and has the good moments in them (Koizilla, Breaking of the Ice, Avatar State/Superman moments, exc.)
    2. Mediocre= Characters are displayed fine, story is gaping in some areas, but has an overall storyline, and a good moment here and there.
    3. Atrocious, Horrendous, ex.= Absolute misplaying of the Characters, (ex. Sokka loving, Aang PMSing, exc.) Story is all over the place (Boy in the Iceburg to Bato of the Water Tribe to Warriors of Kiyoshi, exc.) No great moments at all.

My bet is on 2. I just have a feeling that it won't be as great as a show...

dont forget that m. night shayamalon also help create the second harry potter movie! and the village was good it was that the people didnt get the realization of twhat that movie meant and also lady in the water was an excelllent movie!! ust think how well M night wil do portraying all the stories in avatar and how well he'll keep them making since as in what he did for the mixture of plots and the story line in lady in the water, which was pretty confusing but he directed it to where it made since.
